  1. You would think with what's beein happening over a year now, they would want to do something for their base. Instead, its just the opposite. It's been before Covid where they really went the extra mile for season ticketholders, so the newer accounts might not notice. But I'm sure the long term people are scratching their heads.
  2. I am so glad I cancelled my partial season tickets. A friend of mine still has them. They used to have parties, and events for season ticketholders, now they are trying to bleed even more money out of them. Like the bad play isn't enough. Apparently, Season Ticketholder "Appreciation" Week is coming up. You can be part of a pre game parade around the field. Don't have a ticket to that particular game? The Sox will sell you one. Also if you buy tickets to another game, they will throw in a patio party. However, if you already have a ticket to that game, you will have to pay for the patio party. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on over there?
  3. Despite the results, he's right, everyone else is wrong. I wonder how those ladies felt sitting up their after just purchasing the teams, having new ideas instead of thinking it's still 1981, and Jerry up there basically saying new people are clueless. I wonder if Jerry ever figured out the woman owning a women's soccer team has more season ticketholders than he does.
  4. Festivus must be a week long event at the Reinsdorf home. Jerry seems to want to air a lot of grievances. He calls other owners dumb, yet has a bloated payroll and an 8-21 record after 81-81 during his sustained winning time.
  5. Romy Gonzalez almost made a routine catch in LF yesterday. So that's a positive. It reminded me of the story Wimpy told one time where I think it was Greg Luzinski played the Johnny Carson character Karnac. If anyone ever saw it, he opens an envelope with an answer and he then gives the question. The answer was catch 22. The question was what would Ron Kittle do if you hit him 100 fly balls?
  6. AJ Pollock had a buyout on this years' payroll. Nice move Rick.
  7. Only 4 homers his last 400 PA. Basically Leury Garcia’s pace. I loved him as a player and person, but it was time for him to move along, and he got a ton of money. My question would be do we really know how old he is? A year or two off at this stage is a huge deal.
  8. I was watching the game with my dad, and he asked when Bummer was giving up runs in the 9th why there still was anyone there. I said I have no idea. They knew what they were doing.
  9. It was a fun win. But bad relief pitching, horrible defense…really there is no hope for much of a turnaround for this team.
  10. Do you really think MLB and thr AL would abandon Chicago all because Jerry Reinsdorf ran his team like a Subway Franchise? It's a sleeping giant.
  11. OF tickets sold for $1 on Stubhub today.
  12. Since KW went public, the Sox have been out scored 44-10: with a few of their runs coming against non pitchers.
  13. There may be a little lost in translation. It might not really be hey I ran hard yesterday, so I was taking a break today as bad as it was translated. But if the guy can’t go all out, he needs to speak up. It also shows Andrus isn’t the leader type he was advertised, because if he knew, he should have said something.
  14. Bottom line is if you can run hard for 90 feet, you shouldn’t be playing CF that night.
  15. I read something that since Rick took over as GM the White Sox have the 26th best record in baseball. And not that wins and losses in the lower levels is all that important in the grand scheme of things, but their affiliates have the worst record in baseball. All are a combined 657 games under .500. I think that hire was a miss.
  16. I get your point and agree with a lot of it. But I do think this is also White Sox issue. I certainly don’t think it’s Charlie Montoya’s or Pedro Grifol’s fault Robert doesn’t know the bench coach’s name. Somewhere along the line, the White Sox made it OK for Robert to get away with being so aloof. Somewhere they made it OK to decide before a game he was a little tight , no need to tell the trainers or the manager, just take it easy today. Much like Sammy Sosa with the Cubs, the Sox created this “monster”. I don’t really think Robert is a monster BTW. He hasn’t been accountable since he was signed, and the Sox are now seeing the cost. if they made him pay attention from day 1. If they emphasized playing smart and what that entailed, if they beat into his brain what was expected of him, he may be a star now. They just gushed at the talent, in wonderment a guy like this was really a White Sox, when it was obvious, despite as much talent as anyone, his game was lacking in a few areas, and let him slide by. This season is over. The Sox need to prepare for the future. Send him down. Get him straightened out in all aspects. Maybe it pays off later. If you just let him be, you are going to have a guy who is unreal for stretches and then just taking it easy for some reason. I doubt they have the balls to do it.
  17. There was a poster yesterday in the gamethread who was pulling for Colas to succeed because of his style of play. I agree. This is one guy who always plays hard, and one guy who seems beyond bothered when it isn’t going his way. I hope he figures it our. We can use guys like him.
  18. Robert doesn’t know the coaches names, doesn’t know who is in the line up. Why do I think if he was with another organization, he wouldn’t have these issues? This to me is an indictment of the White Sox organization.. He needs some mental development. Send him down. I think if he was a Ray, he might be MVP. They would have forced him to learn what he needs to know. Just more accountability issues.
  19. They just showed it on thr post-game show. I don't think I have ever seen R Chuck so miffed at a player at least on the air. He was visibly pissed ar the explanation.
  20. It's even more bizarre. Robert said he had a tight hammy so he decided he was going to half ass it today. He told Eloy and Andrus, but no one on the coaching or training staff. When Pedro asked him after he loafed if he was OK he said yes. So they benched him. Robert doesn't know Charlie Montoya's name. Either Eloy or Elvis eventuallly told Pedro what was up.R Chuck is so dismayed.
  21. No he's not. According to him, you can't make any money owning a baseball team, but for some reason selling will cost him too much.
  22. 28 games into the season, thr Sox could win their next 14 and still have the ultimate mediocre record.
  23. I hope the Sox send a message and if TA is up Tuesday, they send Robert down.
