“If I were a fan, I’d be p—-ed,” Reinsdorf said. “I’d be very angry. But at the same time, this is the first really, really bad year. We won the division in ’21, we were .500 last year. That’s nobody’s goal to be .500, but that’s still average. This is the first disaster. This is the first real disaster.” Reinsdorf, 87, made it clear he doesn’t want to go through another major overhaul after the most recent rebuild came up short. The team has a foundation in place, he said, adding: “We’re not going to take the guys that we have now and clean out and start over again."

And didn't he discuss his plan with JR before being hired? I wouldn't be surprised if we lose 110 games next year should have come up in the conversation. If it did, JR's talk at the press conference announcing his hiring was full of lies.
-
His strategy is to delay, delay, delay so he's employed longer.
-
I've been mad about the Getz hire and this entire season. His quotes make it much worse. I wonder if JR gets that the quotes make him look like a fool.
-
The other thing I don't get is he said he wouldn't have been surprised if they lost 110. If you think you're bad enough to lose 110, why would it be surprising you are record bound? He's trying Hahn spin, and he's not as good as the master. And if you think you're losing that much, why are you signing Tommy Pham?

White sox baseball-embrace it.

Just embrace it. What a buffoon.

If there is the dreaded leadoff walk, what is it when you walk the first 3?
-
Nastrini back to back walks. Hard to believe.
-
Colas supposed lack of development is a pox on Getz previous role. As we know, this current stance shouldn’t surprise anyone. The White Sox always wait for their prospects to be totally ready before calling them up.

Can’t waste a year.

Either the Sox are stupid, or they hate Ramos so much, they are begging for Vargas to be a 3B.

Schriffen is going to be at Ultimate Fighting this week. he said the White Sox made a statement with yesterday's win. So clueless. Ultimate fighing, slamball, maybe the hot dog eating contest, a weekly college game... that is what he should be doing. Not MLB PBP for an unstacked team.
-
Funny thing is Amin was runner up to Jason for the Sox PBP job way back when.

I don’t understand this. Didn’t the Sox basically sign Pham to flip at the deadline? Now not paying him the last 2 months is great business? Wouldn’t they have been better off saving even more money and not signing him at all? I just read an article about the Dodgers stealing Kopech. The price was small, Vargas, and a couple of guys who may never get to AAA. And the Cardinals got Fedde for next year. And the Sox sent cash. Getz got pantsed. The organization didn’t improve…. Personally, I think JR is starting to remember the profits the team was making when they weren’t trying to win, and it appeals to him. It’s disgusting what this team has become. A national joke, a laughingstock. Ken Rosenthal called them a sad sack franchise. Where’s any fucking pride?

What makes it more impressive is he is coming off TJS. You would think that would give hope for even better results, especially with command , in the future.

If the Bears don’t get this stadium built with public funds, Chicago is going to fall behind as a city. I loved that BS. Super Bowl would be nice, but with the capacity they are looking at, it will be 1 Suoer Bowl. It will be 1 Final Four. What concerts is the city missing out on? Again, if this is such a great deal, and will be ultimately be a money printer, why not just build it yourself, and pocket the money? You have a plot of land. Starr building. Kevin Warren will untimely be known as a bad hire.

Clinched the worst record in baseball.

Crochet, Sale, Lopez, Cease in Cy Young races
Dick Allen replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Remember when the Sox refused to give Rodon a qualifying offer? That was awesome. -
He’s always a little off. With people going into the office only 2 or 3 times a week, a close proximity to the loop is offset a little bit as well. He still has the red line near. And Metra trains a lot closer than they are now for those not heading south. But one of his complaints is he never drew 3 million, and the capacity of this stadium is supposed to be 35000-38000. So he isn’t going to do it there either.

I mentioned this earlier. Moncada, if he rehabs, since you didn’t just let him go yet, let him play a bit. DH, 2B. Ramos shouldn’t be sitting. He should be playing 3B . Vargas isn’t a 3B,, Let him DH, LF, and 1B. Gavin Sheets shouldnt be part of the future unless the goal is utter mediocrity, which, considering JRs other franchise, is not out of the question.Sit his ass. Sit Nicky’s ass. Or just tell them to go away.

According to the people begging for public money, these are always a big money maker for the state or local government from which they are seeking funding. Makes you wonder why they wouldn’t just build it themselves and take in all that money. I guess it’s just their charitable sides.

It wasn’t designed to lose 100 games. That is the problem. The one thing you can build in MLB relatively cheaply if you know what you are doing, is a bullpen. No members of Chris Getz inaugural bullpen made it through one season with the team. White Sox pitching has a long ways to go, and it’s going to require some good breaks going the teams way. The hitting is so bad everyone thinks the pitching is fine ignoring the onky staff with a higher ERA is Colorado.

Shockingly he cleared waivers and was outrighted. He may be back soon. Another in the long line of weird fascinations the Sox have with some guys. Why are Nicky Lopez and Gavin Sheets playing and young guys riding pine?

Scherer was a major league scout. At least he was as of a year or so ago in an article I read. It seemed like they relied on the ex assistant hitting coach for their big deadline deal. I don’t know who recommended the players in the Cease deal, but if these were some of the guys, then Getz admits the return was short. I would have to think the Mena trade was all Barfield. I know 2 of them were responsible for Quintana coming to the White Sox. Looks to me it’s more a purge of KW lackeys.
