  1. I think anyone with a cable package or YouTube tv or whatever just wants it on their platform to watch. I get everyone in the Chicago are could get it with rabbit ears, but it’s kind of a pain in the ass, and at this point mostpeople don’t want rabbit ears in the rooms they watch TV and don’t want to have to switch their input on their TV. It certainly takes away from channel changing during the games. It’s weird, when everyone used rabbit ears, the Sox couldn’t wait to get away from it, now that most don’t have them, they go back. it is a positive though that most in Chicagoland will have access to each game even if it is a pain in the ass for the majority. It would really be nice if ownership made the effort worth it with a halfway decent team.
  2. Which would be excellent. Maybe he’s been working on it for a couple of days.
  3. I can’t believe Caulfield isn’t giving this a try. 63 names in one post is right up his alley.
  4. Might have won 43 and not set a record. But of course Jake Eder is a stud.
  5. I think it will be a long while before significant trades. First up is the new manager. Now JR has basically said managers and coaches , except named Tony LaRussa, make no difference. But in his letter, he made it appear this will be a franchise altering hire. I can’t wait.
  6. When he was drafted, I was as big of Andrew Vaughn fan as there was. Everything I saw, everything I read , was so positive. This was a guy who made pitchers throw strikes. I was so excited. But he still misses pitches by 2 feet. His numbers are basically the same every year. If they keep him one more year, just in case, I'll get it, but it's probably time to move on.
  7. They had reason to release him. Under the Chris Getz developmental program, he was 0-6 with a 15.92 ERA
  8. Yeah Getz was holding court before that game and told everyone that obviously Hagen will be spending some quiality time while he was there with Garrett Crochet. When they asked him about it in the booth, he never spoke to him. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
  9. He's a 40 year old man trying to talk like a 16 or 17 year old. I honestly think he would be great at the hot dog eating contest. I had it on one year. It's beyond disgusting to watch, but the commentary is great. One guy was calling these dopes jamming 50 hot dogs down their gullets , the greatest athletes in the world. That's exactly what he would say.
  10. That was the one game I attended this year, so I missed it live. It was right at the beginning of June. I was still trying to like him. I know his situation was pretty messed up. But listening to that later lost me. He has no idea the difference between baseball and WWE,and UFC, and Slamball.
  11. Vaughn has been basically the same for 3 years. If the choice is him or Sheets, I'd take him, but they both should probably go.
  12. I think the biggest difference other than admitting being wrong is there is no way JR would suggest signing a Jordan Montgomery type to a 1 year $25 million contract.
  13. I was watching a show with Adam Amin and he asked of the 3 teams in the network who is closest to a championship. The guy said the Bulls, and thought their roster was stacked. The woman said she was going to say the Bulls but she will go with the White Sox, the team that just lost more game than any other team this and last century, saying they were a lot closer than people think. JR probably has already given them extensions.
  14. He hit .201 overall with the Dodgers. In almost 500 plate appearances now, he's hitting .175. I think he is better than what he hit after he was traded, but no where near the middle of the order bat Getz was projecting.
  15. The first one, clearly hungover, and Maeda starting was another giveaway. Winning was nice, but not at the expense of hiving your rotation set.
  16. But he has Bedard, maybe the only thing worth watching on the channel.
  17. I don't think Grady did anything wrong per se, but logic would tell you he has about as much chance as any of us at landing that job. He gets it, and it's the same old, same old, and no matter who is manager, have a great chance at over 100 loses next year.
  18. If you go back to their previous announcements, they said they would be up and running on multiple platforms. Their website would be fully functional well before they were ready to broadcast. They were full of it. But as fans of these teams, we should be used to it.
  19. It's beyond amazing. Then they try the elder abuse thing, yet somehow the man is lucid enough to go to Springfield to ask for a billion plus, and say, hey, this team is worth more elsewhere, I'm just trying to do the state a favor before his son will be forced to sell it to someone who will move them.
  20. JR is 88 and drooling. Sports and Sports Channels are dumb. Lets get sarcastic.
  21. Trading your best hitter right before the playoffs start, iwpould be a bit odd.Besides that would be an intradivision trade. The Sox are afraid of those.
  22. The calls for him to die, which I do not endorse, will be drowned out because by the time your scenerio occurs, he will be 120 years old.
  23. I get that, but it's a pop up. 8 year olds make the play. The Sox may have reached double figures messing it up this year.
  24. This is exactly true. He doesn't like guys who aren't yes men. Who don't think he probably is the greatest owner and person on the face of the earth. Any resistance is met with exile. Scottie Pippen, AJ , Larry Himes, benetti....you don't kiss the ring, you're nothing to him.
  25. We will see. One change I would like made is what happens when these pop ups keep getting fielded like Little League. Someone needed to get into Andrew Vaughns face yesterday and tell him he needs to catch that ball. It happens every week.
