  1. I still don't understand why the Sox didn't claim Stairs. I'm no fan of his, and I think he isn't that great, but if he helps Detroit win 1 game, KW dropped the ball. He isn't making that much and you would only of had to pay him for 2 weeks. It would have been worth having him ride pine, and maybe pinch hit once or twice.
  2. QUOTE($I Need Money$ @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:47 PM) watching oprah is better than this game. I was at my health club one day with Oprah on. Even this beats Oprah.
  3. I hope to God KW decides paying attention to the bullpen this off season would be a good idea.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:39 PM) Ha, every move Guillen made today has backfired. But you can't call him an idiot when his ideas go 0 for 10. You can only call him a genius when one of his hairbrained ideas work out.
  5. QUOTE(GOD @ Sep 16, 2006 -> 05:38 PM) I just wish once someone in the Chicago media would have the balls to rip Ozzie. Every other day we lose a game b/c he doesn't know how to manage. There is one, the problem is he has less credibility than Ozzie.
  6. Logan and Hermanson? When it is imperative you win, those are 2 very bad choices. Looks like my schedule is wide open in October. Yet another game the Sox piss away. Its amazing how many of those there's been this year.
  7. Boone Logan doesn't like to throw strikes either.
  8. Since there will be no playoffs next year, the pitching staff won't be able to use the workload as an excuse. When Boone Logan enters the game, you know its over.
  9. I think winning the division is going to take a miracle now. Detroit is going to get very healthy playing KC 6 times. Minnesota can be had, but the Sox have lost way too many games recently they just as easily could have and should have won to make me think that anything is really going to change these last 2 weeks. I hope they make it, but there I think they may have let too many opportunities slip by for that to happen. Everyone including myself is waiting for the hotstreak. It appears we may have to wait until 2007 for that to happen. It may help to actually have someone useful at the top of the line-up.
  10. I find it hard to believe the Sox have been so patient with Crede only to trade him away when all their patience pays off. I'd would be absolutely stunned if he is traded unless the concern about his back is what fuels it. They still have time to deal with Boras, or maybe Crede dumps him to try to get a deal done. I think its a better bet you'll be able to tour a peaceful Middle East, than see Boras hammering out a long-term contract for a major player with JR.
  11. Maybe they could go back to televising at least the first night of it. I think the Q and A's should be covered. You could have people email questions to the Sox brass, even throw in a few tough emails so it won't look like cherry picking. All I know is last year Soxfest was ridiculous. There has to be another venue that could handle a huge crowd. I'm all for sticking it to the Hyatt for their overcalculations last year, but I also thinks its dangerous when you take away perks from season ticketholders that they have had for years.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Nope...it's not over until Mr. Pessimism says so. Wait until after our Tigers series next week....that's when we'll know. Its getting to the point where taking 2 out of 3 against Detroit isn't good enough.
  13. QUOTE(greg775 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) I hope our tired arms rest up this postseason. It will be terrible if these guys are hurt again next year. White Sox pitchers have spent very little time on the DL the last couple of years. The Sox are due for that to start evening up I'm afraid.
  14. Call me an idiot, but if the Sox don't make it, and it appears like the chances are slipping away, I would want someone from the Central to win. Either Minnesota or Detroit. If they both were eliminated, I always pull for the AL.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) If I'm a true Sox fan, I'd try to jump off the cliff, but I wouldn't make it cause I'd slow up before I got to the ledge. Probably sporting a Pod's jersey
  16. At least I'll have a good portion of next season's tickets paid for.
  17. Its time either Jenks goes back to the doctor or gets a few days off. Something is not right.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:06 AM) I'll bet anything on this that I'm right. He also dropped one against Toronto, and winds were not a problem that day.
  19. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:04 AM) Those were his 20th or so games started in the outfield. He's not that laughable bad anymore. He hasn't played much OF since. He's no better, but like a lot of said, our current LF isn't exactly a gold glover.
  20. QUOTE(Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 13, 2006 -> 12:01 AM) Hey, Dick, I got the impression you were watching the game WHEN THIS HAPPENED. That means you're still thinking about this, 2 hours later. Watching Podsednik play baseball can do that to a person. He drives my crazy. I watched the replay on my Tivo over and over with my mouth wide open. I cannot understand how mediocre at best players don't have their heads in the game and can't give maximum effort.
  21. QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:59 PM) He's not. He got a really bad rap because of the game he f***ed up in out there. I watched Ross Gload drop 2 routine flyballs the same week in 2004. He is a bad OF. But so is Pods. Get the guy in there who at least may get on base.
  22. What the hell was Pods thinking when he stopped running on the SB attempt? Is his mind really that out of it?
  23. QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 12, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) is he really that awful in LF??? Cuz his bat would help this team so much He is awful in the outfield. The current LF, however, is just as awful, if not worse.
  24. If Pods played hard, he might not be good, but at least he'd be bearable.
