  1. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:49 PM) I like the call. I was actually thinking of that same situation prior to Dye's AB. You can't risk it there. But if they throw through, Dye would be standing on third.
  2. Nice comeback. Twice today. This would be a huge victory.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:40 PM) I hope they bring in Seanez. According to Gammons, KW wanted Seanez instead of Riske when he dealt Lopez.
  4. Thome has never hit this guy. Hopefully, he'll let him walk him.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:33 PM) Same thing happened last year. That's the only saving grace I can see. It's just amazing how every button Francona's pushed this series has worked out. Maybe he'll leave his closer in for his 3rd inning of work.
  6. Both Paplebon and Jenks allowed runs in the same game. You could have gotten pretty good odds on that.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 9, 2006 -> 04:29 PM) Is Pods playing Loretta on the warning track? He should have had an easy play at the plate. Probably. He played Juan Pierre against Cotts in the same place he set up for Derrek Lee last week.
  8. Prior's hurt again. What ever happened to Wade Miller? Hendry was supposedly a genius for signing him. He was going to be back in May.
  9. QUOTE(letsgoarow @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 05:18 PM) i work for the Braves (minor league team).... and i heard that Andruw said he would retire before he would get traded Talk is cheap. No way he retires when he's making $13.5 million a year.
  10. QUOTE(Misplaced_Sox @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:48 PM) It not so bad that Pods plays close to Peoria in the outfield it's more of the fact that his defense smells like Peoria More like Gary. With the southerly winds last night, Bridgeport reeked of Gary.
  11. Iguchi is the tying run. We have seen this before. Papplebon in. It will be tough.
  12. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:38 PM) Well, that could have been a lot worse, I suppose. AJ, Crede, Mack and Cintron to lead off next inning. Some of our best hitters late in the game. Sub Pablo in for Scotty and that's five guys I wouldn't mind coming up. The problem is Papplebon has allowed a whopping 2 runs in 42 2/3 innings this year. Chances the White Sox pull this out----------------remote.
  13. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 03:37 PM) These are two clearly different teams. Last year was the kind that wins with pitching and defense. This year, we win with offense. We've seen how well that works from 2001-2004. You are a very wise milkman.
  14. Why is everyone concerned about the pitching? Coop can fix 'em.
  15. I'm glad the Sox drafted Broadway and passed on Hansen. You can never have enough soft-tossers in the organization.
  16. It would be nice to play a decent team and have 5 runs scored enough to win.
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2006 -> 02:38 PM) Why would Gar of all people go to the pen. He's been our 2nd best pitcher lately, which just feels awkward to say. If Garland is going to make a relief appearance, its because of the All Star break. Nothing permanent.
  18. Cotts with a big pitch. Even though Riske gave up a run, I'm glad Ozzie lifted Garcia. He most likely would have given up "a big crooked number."
