  1. Why am I still not comfortable with a 7 run lead and a guy who pitched 7 shutout innings in the World Championship clinching game 8 months ago.
  2. Pods with 3 rbi tonight. He is within 2 of last season's rbi total.
  3. In the first, I figured 8 would be enough. I'm not so sure now, but I do think its almost a lock we see Riske tonight if he's available.
  4. QUOTE(Capn12 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) Good lord, Claussen DOES suck If you're getting knocked around by Uribe and Anderson, AAA has to be in your immediate future, if not a new job as an insurance salesman.
  5. Widger. How did the White Sox suddenly learn how to bunt?
  6. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:54 PM) Oh God, Hawk is gonna start talking NASCAR. "I'll tell ya what....that Ricky Rudd is one of the toughest SOB's on the circuit. Back in the day, him, Yaz and I would drive golf balls deep into the night." What was Catfish doing?
  7. We should enjoy this half inning as much as possible. We have to watch Freddy pitch again momentarily.
  8. SS is hunting rattlesnakes on his throw home to try and get Pods. He was in there anyway.
  9. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:43 PM) Greenies... I don't think there's even a doubt.
  10. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:40 PM) DJ: "You're doing your best, and you still can't stop them from running." DOING YOUR BEST??? One throw to check a runner, one glance over before every pitch and a "stretch" that looks a LOT like a windup is "doing your best"???? Its not like Freddy is a rookie and hasn't experienced this. He's been run on his entire career. Its just he used to be able to keep enough guys off the bases to really bother him. With his new "style" there are so many baserunners, and so many more opportunities to get into scoring position. Guys that can't hold runners usually don't get away with allowing a lot of runners. Buerhle gets away with it, because he keeps guys close or picks them off. Freddy does look like one of the top 3 bunters on the White Sox though.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:37 PM) I think the only people that think that's going to work are the same people who think someone like Pods is awesome. Even jphat has to be down on Freddy, doesn't he?
  12. When Hawk is talking about all the bad pitches he's getting away with, he really must be godawful out there. Get McCarthy up.
  13. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:34 PM) I'm really getting worried about the back-end of our rotation. I don't have a whole lot of faith in anyone not named Contreras or Buehrle. They haven't given you any reason to have faith in them, except for the size of their paychecks.
  14. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) There's the first inning Freddy we remember. Unfortunately its not limited to the first anymore.
  15. Freddy reached back for a little extra and got it up to 88. 3 run bomb. He's a bum.
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:28 PM) I don't understand why everyone who gets on base against Freddy isn't stealing. He almost never throws over and he has a LONG motion to the plate. You'd think more players would take advantage of that. And of course, as I type this Lopez was running, ha! I agree. Its almost automatic they will make it. It may cost the Reds a run this inning.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:22 PM) Claussen's pitched roughly as well as Jon Garland. So 3 homers allowed in 6 innings would be considered an encouraging outing from him from a Reds point of view.
  18. QUOTE(wsox08 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 06:21 PM) I think four will be enough.. Call me crazy I hope I'm wrong, but you're crazy.
  19. I have the feeling 4 isn't going to be enough, lets get 8.
  20. Hopefully the Sox have a long inning and the sun sets a little in LF. Pods struggles with the sun a lot.
  21. QUOTE(Hangar18 @ Jun 16, 2006 -> 04:13 PM) Bob Watson is a YES man .............. If this lazy-ass would get his butt out of the golf cart, put the clubs away, and did some work, this wouldve been taken care of 48 hours after it happened. MLB = Pathetic It is a joke. They dispatch a guy to Chicago for an appeal hearing on June 16, for an act that occurred May 20. I figured it would take weeks. I thought maybe 2, at the most 3, but tomorrow it will be 4. Who knows how long until they rule.
