  1. BTW, how many unsuccessful bunt attempts does Crede have to have before Ozzie realizes he cannot bunt. Today's effort gets him injured, which turned out to be a blessing because it got him out of the game and the runner, who never would have advanced if Crede stayed in, moved over.
  2. Didn't KW have a deal for Bellhorn worked out last season for Kelly Wunsch and then Kelly got hurt?
  3. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) Well, first Burroughs would have to clear waivers and then Kenny would have to make a trade for him by August 31st. I don't see it happening. He might have already gone through, or he may have already been blocked. I'm pretty sure that guy who had the Borchard for Burroughs report didn't just pick it out of his ass. It probably was discussed. A lot of things could have prevented the deal from happening, and I'm not saying Burroughs can be had. I just thought he may be a possibility.
  4. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 07:13 PM) Latest News Aug. 24, 2005 - 11:15 am et Sean Burroughs will likely be called up on September 1. Burroughs, who has batted .299 with eight doubles and a home run in 97 at-bats, has a $1.65 million salary, so they want to get him back in the big leagues. Source: San Diego Union-Tribune That doesn't mean they wouldn't trade him. He has a good glove, and if he developed some power, could turn into a pretty good player.
  5. QUOTE(GoSoxGo @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) That trade isn't going to happen. Neither player would clear waivers and the Padres are already talking about calling Burroughs up. Burroughs might. Not many teams looking for 3rd baseman with Willie Harris power. KW could throw a minor leaguer their way.
  6. I wonder if Sean Burroughs cleared waivers. There was that article that Borchard was going to be traded for him.
  7. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) I think his back is the problem not a tired arm. His back is a problem, but Hermanson mentioned being tired about a month or so ago.
  8. QUOTE(bigred3535 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) BO-BBY! BO-BBY! BO-BBY! Jenks needs a good nickname... How about Flounder?
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:28 PM) its funny how scared we are of a 274 hitter with 14 hr's That's because we don't get to see those types everyday.
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) I cant get over how horrible the name Terry Tiffee is. You think the name is bad, check his photo on gameday.
  11. Has Hawk already put this game on ESPN classic yet?
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:14 PM) please tell me someone else is warming in the pen and his initials arent DH or LV I'm pretty sure Ozzie will leave Marte in for Mauer and Morneau, then go to Hermanson to try to get LeCroy. Its probably going to be a nerve-racking bottom of the ninth.
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:07 PM) this should be jenks, and nobody else but Cotts after that. There is no reason to put in Marte ( i cant get lefties out) and Vizcaino (here comes the slider). You're right. Cotts should close out the 9th.
  14. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:05 PM) Why was Anderson called up? So he can see the wrong approach to hitting in the major leagues.
  15. How intimidated would you be if you were pitching to Blum, Crede and Timo?
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) Geoff can look back on this game and say: "Man I couldnt hit s***, but I DID make a damn nice tag." Which is nice
  17. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Twins foul off good pitches and take close pitches which sometimes are called strikes sometimes they are not. Sox swing at first thing close. This game does not look good, Twins pen is well rested. Just need 9 outs, and don't let them score. The offensive slump is not over.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:35 PM) Yeah, but I mean Crede and Uribe are really, really struggling to get hits. At this point, if we're going to rest Iguchi, I'd rather we call up Willie, put him at 2nd base, and put Blum at 3rd base. Blum can't hit either. Last time I looked, Willie was hitting .233 at Charlotte. We lead the league in guys who can't hit.
  19. Hopefully the Sox will be able to get a few more runs.
  20. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Can't believe we haven't seen a SN of WWHP? With Timo getting a hit in each of the last games, and throwing someone out at the plate, my question is when Pods comes back, where will he play?
  21. Joe caught a pop up. Getting a hit may be just around the corner.
  22. Wasn't Garland popping off how he was going to keep his pitch count down this game.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 09:28 AM) Dick... nearly all the suites are owned by corps. They are filled with BW jumpers every game. I think it would be appropriate to reward a Sox fan also. Oh well... I just don't understand having a contest for White Sox tickets, and basically making life-long White Sox fans ineligible to win. Maybe a true White Sox fan will win anyway.
