  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) Besides it was all Konerko's fault Konerko said Willie was the best at blowing games he ever played with.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2005 -> 10:38 AM) Another potential darkhorse in the Burnett derby is Atlanta, they just put Mike Hampton on the DL. I really can't see Florida trading Burnett to Atlanta, but stranger things have happened, I suppose. There's no doubt Florida leaking out info is trying to drive up Burnett's price. Conversely, it wouldn't surprise me KW's interest in Baez and Huff for the some of the same package he supposedly is offering for Burnett may also be a little bit of gamesmanship. It will be interesting how it all plays out, because there are going to be some deals made.
  3. Are any of the people who say trading Politte would be the dumbest thing to do the same people who were calling for his head last season?
  4. Is Politte signed beyond this season? Maybe the thinking is Jenks could take Politte's role. Politte has been awesome this season, I thought he should have been an All Star, however, I would not be surprised if he starts getting touched up soon. Also, maybe this is also tied into possibly acquiring Baez. Who knows other than KW. There are going to be a ton of rumors, some with some truth some with none, until trades are made or the deadline passes.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) The Brewers would be stupid to trade Overbay now. They'd be better off trading him in the offseason. With the very weak FA 1b crop coming up, there will be a lot of teams looking to upgrade at the position via trade. I read where the Brewers feel they could get major league players for Overbay if they wait until the offseason, but would probably only be able to get prospects if they traded him now. They apparently would rather have major league ready players rather than prospects.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) I disagree. Numerous trades have been nixed wit hTB because their GM, whose name escapes me, pushes the price of his guys too much/ Can some one confirm? Oberbay makes less than $500,000, and won't even be arbitration eligible until after next season. Milwaukee is going to want a boatload for someone his age, with his numbers, and his contract situation.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) Jim, I've been wondering all night if maybe Iguchi is banged up. For all of us, like myself, b****ing about him not playing.....I'll be happy if there's no serious injury involved. We can handle one stupid loss...but losing Iguchi for any extended amount of time would be bad. We do need a back-up 3b though. Its also apparent Harris isn't the answer as a back up at second.
  8. My brother lives in Switzerland, and tomorrow's game will be shown there on their ESPN. I know the White Sox national broadcast record leaves a lot to be desired. How about their international broadcast record?
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:26 PM) And if this was Garcia the A team would of been starting I don't doubt this. I wonder, has Freddy pitched with the crappy line-up this year?
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) I don't think he's defending his play. I'm certainly not. He's been awful this year. But Sox fans tend to come up with a scapegoat for every game, rather than a team failing. Harris was awful tonight, but he's not the only one... Up until last inning, the reason the White Sox were not winning was Willie Harris.
  11. These players don't need this much time off. This is baseball.
  12. QUOTE(SHAFTR @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Remember when Willie Harris lost us this game? I'm sure he is entirely responsible for that inning as well. How can anyone defend the way Willie Harris has performed this year?
  13. When he does extend his streak, I sure hope Hawk and DJ don't make a big deal about it.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) Nice f***ing play dips***. Wow, I hate the f***ing mentality of having the B team in. Brings down the level of play for everyone. How many games like this do they have to play before Ozzie realizes he can't trot 3 or 4 subs out there at the same time and have a reasonable chance to win the game?
  15. They way Sweeney has owned Buerhle I don't mind a bunt hit.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:04 PM) Son of a b****. Well, at least we won't see Lima again. If we had a real offense playing, we'd probably have 8 runs. Hopefully Bell will leave Lima in another inning, but I doubt it. He is ready to really get lit up.
  17. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 09:01 PM) Fire Guillen! He sucks! He is a piece of s*** manager! He makes Lime look like Cy Young and he gies everybody too many off days! I wish my boss was as liberal with days off.
  18. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 08:59 PM) Oh, Ok -- didn't realize that he was pitching tonight, too. I hope they show a replay on Comcast tonight. It seemed fairly deep to me. You'll get no argument from me that he misplayed it horribly, just want to see how far it was hit. It was a routine play. He didn't make it, was probably rapping to himself.
  19. Well if Willie would have caught a routine pop up it still would be 1-0.
  20. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 08:46 PM) I will bring the beer. The beer is included.
  21. The day Willie Harris is removed from the roster, I am going to have a party. Everytime the guy screws up, and he screws up a lot, it always comes back to hurt the White Sox.
  22. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 26, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) Not to be insensitive, but it looks like Boston is going to pull the trigger on Burnett now. I truly do hope that Clement is okay. Is this from a report, or your personal opinion?
