The game is so different. I used to play Strat-o-matic as a kid. I loved homers, hits and walks. Dave Kingman was a whiff machine back in the day. But his career high was 156, which is close to the pace Andrew Vaughn is on this year, and whiff machine doesn't even cross my mind thinking of him.

I love how security thinks it's impossible to get a sell the team sign in. The guy should have told him he packed it under his gun. Amazing how that story just went away.

Of course people with no clue, would be crazy to give some sort of timeline.He and the team owe the fanbase some sort of explanation , and when they believe they should have this fixed. If you remember, this guy was hired because they couldn’t waste a year, and he would have this built back faster than anyone else.Perhaps the best rebuild of the JR era had a timeline they actually beat by a season, when Himes built a team that was supposed to be ready to contend when they moved to what then was the new park.

Gavin Sheets hasn’t hit a homer in 2 1/2 months, and only has 6 doubles during that time. I don’t understand why he is on the roster, but if he must play, does he have to hit in the middle of the order?

Kopech got a win last night. 5 appearances with the Dodgers, 5 1/3 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 8 Ks.

To ,me, playing baseball never really seemed like a passion to him. I could be way off. But after his upcoming buyout and his initial signing bonus, he will have been paid over $100 million to play baseball. I can’t see him getting more than a million or two next year with any team. Is that enough to keep him playing? I wonder if he is done with the sport.

It doesn’t benefit the Sox at all if he comes back this year. I wouldn’t even waste team resources on him. Tell him to go home and if he ever feels up to giving it a shot call the Sox back. Or just release him and let him pick his own rehab.The distrust with the tam goes back a long time. I remember Lorenzo Barcelo. He was supposed to be the crown jewel in the White Flag trade. I think these guys asked great questions. The problem was, Getz danced around them. They specifically asked for a timeline. Said family members were worried they would be dead before the Sox were good again. That’s a very real question. Getz first laughed, then danced. In other words he has no idea when he thinks the Sox will be good again. At least they didn’t waste this season.

Ecksein had a career .701 OPS. He would bat clean up for this joke.

I know Sammy is young and all that for his level. But there just is not a lot of big time major league contributors who hit under .200 in a minor league season.

It would take the biggest turnaround of all time to get them into contention. Not from these clowns.

Don't forget the lockdown bullpen you told us he built, and how Nastrini was going to be great because of Spring Training. 28-89. Getz sucks. Expansion teams do better.

Getz fired his manager because he thought he had a roster that should win more games. yes Pedro and his idiot friends suck. But Getz is the GM for a team that may be historically bad. For that, he deserves the same fate he gave Pedro.

JR doesn’t spend on the players that help you win, He’d rather think Nicky Lopez helps you get to the playoffs just as much as Ohtani. That isn’t changing, and this time he’s kind of fucked because people were behind his previous rebuild and he had players fans bought into. Now they won’t buy into those players until they win, and they won’t win until JR spends.

That’s alright. I will continue to not spend on the White Sox.

My wife who knows nothing about baseball, hated Pedro. She thought he was pompous. That brings me to Getz. How does a GM of a 28-89 team with the 10th pick of the next draft , actually say this team isn't far off?

My thought is who has Getz added that you can say, wow, that guy is really going to help? Thorpe I guess. But he cost Cease, and who knows how long he lasts until surgery. The draft pick I liked. But everyone else is a fringe guy. He still hasn't acquired anyone that can make the manager say, we have to sit Sheets.

How so?

You can't make this up. 28-89 , his top prospect is hitting .210 in AAA and can't hit a fastball, and he says progress.

Pedro was in uniform and with another organizaiton.

They need to hire someone who has managed before. They need to learn from the Grifail. Pedro aced the interview. He aced the press conference, then reality snuck in, and he was in way over his head.

The good news is whoever eventually gets this job has a 99.99% chance of being an upgrade from Pedro. Of course I thought the same thing about Hahn.

I think its pretty telling that not only did they rid themselves of Pedro, they got rid of all his boys too.
