  1. As bad as Contreras was, the Sox aren't going to win many games scoring 2 runs. After the first inning, I don't understand the offensive approach. It seemed like no one really had a plan at the plate. And Kendall's thrown out 7 of 61 coming in. Except for Konerko and AJ, if anyone else gets on first, they should have been going. Maybe the'll do the unimaginable and score a few of Street in the 9th.

I would think they would be .500 at best.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) The Yankees are now losing 10-2 in the 6th. Randy Johnson gave up 7 of the runs, all earned. I don't know why people are scared to play these guys in August. They're a bad team this year, that's all there is to it. And old players don't get better as the year goes. We'll destroy them. I thought they were old last year, but they do have some pros. I wish the Sox played them now. They really can't get any worse than they have been playing. I agree that they may not be the dominating team many experts predicted they would be, but chances are they will be playing better baseball in August. They probably will have another hot streak or two. Didn't they win 16 of 18 at one point? I suppose it could happen again.
  4. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) I don't disagree that he's trying to get money out of it, but if you were injured by a multi-millionaire on camera, would you sit on your ass and not complain? And secondly, pushing a 30 pound camera off of someone's shoulder, someone who already had preexisiting back and neck conditions, is actually enough to hurt them. It's not life threatening, but that doesn't mean Rogers' actions weren't illegal, and that doesn't mean he shouldn't have to pay up for them. Did you see the footage of this guy after Rogers went after him? He was getting ready to leave, you couldn't tell that he needed any medical assistance, and he winked at someone with a little smile. Next thing you know he's in an ambulance. I think Rogers got what he deserved as far as a suspension goes, and I think he should be ineligible for the All Star Game, especially if he has a clause for a nice bonus being selected. But this cameraman is milking it, no doubt about it.
  5. You've seen one of those shows, you've seen them all. How many times do you have to see Howard say" What are those honey...b cups? c cups? Boy, I'd like to bang you......"
  6. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) Widger can't hit or bunt But he looks cool when he's sporting the Oakleys
  7. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:09 PM) Ozzie has seemed to abandon small ball, we've been station to station for to long now, he needs to get these guys in motion right now, with the offense struggling he needs to make something happen. I agree, but you have to get someone on base to put them in motion.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:23 PM) About a week/week 1/2 ago. Oh, about a week back
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) He still has a sore back. He's getting a day off. when did he hurt it?
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) Rooney and Farmer are saying that Marte was put on the DL likely as a precautionary move so he can maximize his days of rest with the All-Star break coming up. They said that Kenny is probably worried more than anyone else. In one of the papers today, it said Marte was in Chicago yesterday attending to a personal matter and he returned to Detroit during the game yesterday. I bet he was getting examined.
  11. This Marte thing really concerns me. I mentioned when they were in Toronto he was shaking his arm after he threw in the bullpen. This injury he has now is probably related to that. Losing him would be a big blow.
  12. Considering the hatred for Luis Vizcaino, how could anyone want to add old pitchers with far worse numbers? If the Yankees are paying these guys almost $7 million combined and they now want to pay them not to pitch, I think it speaks volumes.
  13. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 09:07 PM) The bullpen deserves a dozen hookers tonight. I'm sure that was the plan win or lose. They are in Detroit.

  15. Another failure to get the runner home from 3rd with less than 2 outs. This loss may send Detroit reeling. Break out the brooms tomorrow Freddy.
  16. Why is Palanco always batting in these situations?
  17. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) Is Hermy officially on bereavement? or is he available for the 13th? He's in uniform.
  18. Strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetttttttccccccccccccccchhhhhhhhhhh
  19. Are the seats at Comerica Park the same style that will be put in USCF? They look very similar.
  20. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:44 PM) Shingo looks awesome! That could be the biggest development of this game. He had been more effective lately, but this may solidify that in Ozzie's mind, and in Shingo's mind.
  21. If Shingo can get through this inning, we will see some huge swings in the 13th.
  22. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 08:38 PM) Well. Freddy better be ready to go 9 tomorrow. Marte and Hermanson haven't pitched tonight. I'm sure Shingo can still go tomorrow, as well as Cotts. Politte probably should be shelved and Vizcaino shouldn't pitch.
  23. Scott has to make of for his fielding gaffe right here.
