  1. That looked like it might have crossed at the knees. Good job Juan.
  2. Crede screamed "f*** you" to the pitcher after the K.
  3. Crede looks like he has never seen a breaking ball.
  4. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) Wait a second here. Widger? This guy is a pretty tough RHP as we just saw, I would definitely want AJP behind the plate for the Sox, no doubt in my mind that was the right call. I don't see what Timo and Harris have to do with one another. If you're looking at Timo and Harris being significantly less bats than Rowand and Iguchi, that's fair enough. But both Rowand and Iguchi had bad days at the plate yesterday and IMO could use a break vs. a tough righthander. Stats may not show it but this guy Lawrence has nasty stuff so I can see why he wanted as many LH bats in there as possible. Again, Timo vs. Rowand, yeah I can see b****ing about that but not sure what the problem is with the rest of the lineup. 2 bench players. I actually was quite happy when AJ was in the line-up. I don't consider Everett a bench player, just his glove. My feeling is that with Everett's shaky at best defense, Rowand has to be in CF. The outfield defense is about as bad as Ozzie could put out there today. The lefty/righty matchups mean nothing to me. If Iguchi and Rowand can't hit a guy like Lawrence this team isn't going anywhere anyway. Harris looked pathetic at the plate today. I think the line-up choices is the biggest reason for this team's record on Sundays. Nothing else adds up. They have an outstanding day game record, and their overall obviously is the best in baseball. Let me continue to complain and they will take the lead.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) That's dissappointing. This team needs a big bat, because really, this lineup isn't that great. I really hope they make a pitch for Hillenbrand -- he's not really a big bat, but he'll do a better job than Crede or Konerko have been doing. There's rumors Hillenbrand is headed back to Boston.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 04:10 PM) He rested Rowand and put Timo in there, that's about the only objection I have. Do you have others? I don't mind Everett in there for Dye, we need to make sure Everett plays and SD had a tough RH going. If you are going to have Harris on the team, this was the day for him to play. If you are going to put Timo in the game, you have to play Iguchi at 2B. Why can't he stagger these guys starts during the week if rest is so needed? I'm actually shocked Widger didn't get the start today. Iguchi gets into the game anyway, what was the benefit of sitting him?
  7. If the White Sox lose, they will fall to 3-7 on Sunday's. Perhaps Ozzie will rethink his tactics.
  8. DJ just said Seanez is easy to steal off of. A caught stealing can't be far behind.
  9. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:52 PM) He's been very good in left field this year but definitely has looked bad today in center though that ball over his head was a very tough play. He had a reputation for being a very overrated CF. I'm so glad Ozzie made Rowand the CF.
  10. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) Choi homers AGAIN. 4-3 Dodgers. Choi is 3 for 3 with 3 homers. Really? He had hit 3 homers the previous 2 games IIRC.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:49 PM) Our pathetic outfield has been in full display today. Pods is an awful centerfielder, as every Brewers fan has told us. Not only that, but Timo took about 3 steps before he threw that ball home. But, we have the best record in baseball and the greatest manager who has ever lived, so who am I to complain? I think today's game is a showcase for why Pods should not play CF ever. He is very fast but gets no jump and takes horrible angles.
  12. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) This should be the last inning for Garcia for sure. He is throwing a ton of pitches. I think he was at 90 at the beginning of the inning.
  13. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 03:41 PM) We rarely seem to get the benefit of the calls at home plate. I think the catcher caught AJ's ball whether it was tipped or not. No dirt came up on a sideview of it.
  14. How come DJ and Hawk can't find any rhyme or reason for the White Sox 3-6 record on Sunday?
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:38 PM) Let me ask the people in here this question: If I start a thread on the board about how I can't see how we'll stay in front of the Twins for the division, do you think people will go nuts against me? I'd even make a legit argument, but I have a feeling that the optimists won't be too happy. If KW stands pat with the roster as its currently assembled, I don't think there could be much of an argument against it. What he's able to do between now and the trade deadline will have more of an effect this season determining the eventual AL Central champion than the in- season moves KW has been able to make the last couple seasons IMHO.
  16. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 12, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) It's Ozzie saying he needs to give guys rest who just had an off day on Thursday. How many working folks here work 2 days than get a day off? Exactly. This is baseball, not a freaking triatholon. If these guys need this much rest, the conditioning coach needs to be replaced.
  17. This Sunday line-up crap has got to end. I feel sorry for the split season ticketholders with the weekend plan.
  18. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:50 PM) I think you would have to be a fool not to notice how many of Hermanson's saves have come after awesome defensive plays by guys like Crede and Uribe. Hermanson is good but he isn't that great, folks. Especially not against a team like the Padres that have seen him a lot. I agree and its why I think if KW makes a major trade, relief pitching will be acquired.
  19. QUOTE(Jeckle2000 @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) Politte...seriously it's not that hard to figure out... Hermy struggled through yesterday...Politte riding a hot streak... you ride the hot hand... That does make the most sense. However,Cliff has been known to get the dry heaves in the 9th.
  20. QUOTE(Jake @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:41 PM) I'm less worried about the blown save and more worried about his loss of velocity. I had read that he used to throw in the low to mid 90's? What happened to that? If it's dead arm, let the poor man rest, let's see what our bullpen is made of. With Shingo and Vizcaino ineffective, and Marte hurting, the bullpen is a little thin right now.
  21. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 11, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) Its 1 bad outing, I really think its pathetic Jeckle is all worried about it. You don't win all 1 run ball games, its not going to happen. 1 blown save out of 16 chances. Thats .0625 of 1.00. Not bad at all. Even the best closers in the league will have blown saves, remember that. In his last 6.1 innings , he has allowed 8 runs, 5 earned and has suffered 2 losses. That's Shingoesque.
