And you know for a fact, Einstein, that that ERA would be just as good at USCF. Pitching against DH's and not pitchers. I never said he was a bad pitcher, he isn't worth the money. :dips*** :dips*** :dips*** :dips*** :dips*** :dips*** :dips***
-
Absolutely not.
-
But you can't guarantee his run support would have been significantly higher with the Sox, and if it was, you cannot predict the conditions under which he pitched would have added to his ERA. The guy has never won 15 games in a season, and he finished the season injured and worn down, just like the year before. He's a decent pitcher, he's just not worth $9 million a year.
-
RJ was on a team that lost 111 games . Clement was on a team that won MORE games than the White Sox and he had only 9 wins. How do you come up with 18 wins if he was on a worse team? How do you possibly think Clement is worth $9 million a year? Please refrain from calling me dumb anymore.
-
Not I'm not dumb. Wins are a lot more important than ERA. He's had a couple of seasons of decent ERA's, but he's an injury risk. Plus, at no time did I say he wasn't better than Garland. I just mentioned Garland has more wins than him. Clement is overpriced. Teams with budgetary concerns like the White Sox should stay away. The guy is getting $1 million per win last season. Its ridiculous. Whichever team signs this guy at that number will regret it.
-
Red Sox, not White. Say away from Clement. He won 9 games and is going to get $9 million. The Cubs had a better record than Sox and Garland won more than that.
-
I'm holding out hope the money saved in this deal will be used filling another hole. 2 average at best players for Carlos Lee is an absolute joke.
-
If Frank is out for a prolonged period, or he can't return to form, the White Sox would have a lot of trouble scoring runs.
-
I was referring to what Bruce said. He reported that he talked to people in the White Sox organization and said that is what they told him. That is what I was referring to. I did nothing erroneously. There was nothing negative that I posted, re- read it. In fact, I have been one of the most postive posters on this board. I was pissed about Magglio, but that's been about i. I said it was probably a smokescreen to hide their interest AJ.
-
Bruce Levine stated on Talking Baseball that the Sox said he was hated by his teammates in 2 places. Please get off my back. I also stated they were probably stating this to "fly below the radar."
-
I would love to have AJ on the team. His teammates don't hate him as much as Sox brass wants you to believe. Its probably a smokescreen. A catcher with a good lefthanded bat would be ideal for the White Sox.
-
KW won't talk about much, he's flying underneath the radar.

Nero Says Johnson never turned down the Sox
Dick Allen replied to santo=dorf's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It gets him out of Arizona, and KW could ship him off to the Yankees at or near the deadline if the Sox are not in contention without asking for the unreasonable package the DBacks are asking for. -
Press conference was an internet message board hoax.
-
If Zito and Mulder continue to struggle, nobody will be asking BB for a sequel to Moneyball.
-
12 million a year for Hudson would be a steal.Gammons said Clement will probably sign with the Angels for $9 million a year.
-
I agree, although if he stays in Coors much longer, his mind will be so screwed up, it won't matter where he's pitching.
-
Its totally BS. Why would TB give up a bargain who is as versitile as Huff? Why has no one else heard or read this alledged report anywhere? If Kurkjian said it on ESPN radio, rotoworld would probably have it.
-
Exactly. If they trade him, they aren't going to want Konerko for $9 million (with his bonus for being traded) or Lee at $8 million when Huff may be better than either one all by himself. They have $ problems, and Lou may leave if they don't start spending.Trading him doesn't make much sense unless they want a few top of the line prospects. Sweeney, Anderson and BMac are the guys they would want for this guy, and not just one of them, and maybe not just two.
-
I think his wife dropped the charges, which is what usually happens. The White Sox should stay away from wife beaters.
-
This is a bogus rumor. The only reason TB would trade Huff is for salary relief. They don't want Lee's contract or Konerko's. The only guys the Sox could trade to TB for him would be their top prospects. KW has said the Sox basically need to go $ for $. Huff is not coming to Chicago.

Ticked at Kobe, Mailman abandons Laker return
Dick Allen replied to greasywheels121's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I was at the Eifel Tower in Paris in September. Kobe was in front of me in line with his wife and daughter. A couple people asked him for an autograph, but he said he was on vacation so he wouldn't sign. His wife is hot. I didn't see that diamond Kobe gave her as a make up present. What was funny was we were flying home about a week and a half later, my wife was reading a People Magazine, or something similar, and it claimed that on the night we saw them Kobe's wife moved out of their home back to her parents' home. They had a time line for the couple of days before. It all was BS. So I doubt Malone would make a play for her, and think this latest thing is totally made up. I don't know why people give Kobe crap for saying the guys are giving HIM 110%. Everyone loved Michael Jordan when he referred to his teammates as his supporting cast. -
I was thinking the same thing, but if its his shoulder it could be a waste of money. I still think the Yankees may have buyer's remorse because they are rumored to sign Pavano and Milton, will probably land RJ and can't give Kevin Brown away. With Mussina still in pinstripes that doesn't leave much room for Wright. Hopefully, after all Wright has been through with the injuries, this isn't anything too serious.

Weis reportedly to coach ND
Dick Allen replied to Dick Allen's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
After this last debacle, the ND administration is going to give him the usual 5 years. -
AM1000 is reporting Charlie Weis will be Notre Dame's next head football coach.
