  1. DJ just pops off about his lack of power this season and you can put in on the board
  2. I don't know this Valentine you speak of, he sounds quite fetching.
  3. All talk about the area around USCF should be quieted with the news of a shooting outside the Cubby Bear right across the street from the Urinal.
  4. Joe's bonus has been paid, why get rid of him? I think he is going to get hot very soon, and be up in Chicago for a long time.
  5. I believe Segal is a White Sox investor. Near North Insurance has an advertisement on the tarp at USCF.
  6. Speaking of Jimenez, do you see his average is about .230 now? I'm sure the Reds will be looking to move him soon, if not already. Its really too bad, the kid has a lot of ability, just a rock for a brain.
  7. The other thing that really chaps my ass, is Uribe is by far the best SS defensively on the team. SS is the most important defensive position, why can't Dransfeldt play second?
  8. Yes he did. Like I said before, thats more than the White Sox could have expected from him. I'm sure he's a nice guy and a hard worker, but I hope I don't see him in a White Sox uniform much longer.
  9. Kelly just printed his ticket to Charlotte.
  10. Admire it, but he is a career .158 hitter coming into this season. The fact that he got a game winning hit as a pinch hitter is a bigger bonus than anyone could possibly have imagined. I think having him bat 8th or 9th would give the White Sox more run scoring opportunities. Obviously, there is no guarantee anyone would have got a hit in his last at bat, but another hitter probably would have had a better chance.
  11. I'm not ripping him. He's just proven over the course of his career he is not a very good hitter. The fact that he is hitting 2nd for at least the second time this season troubles me.
  12. Why is Dransfeldt batting second? This guy couldn't hit .250 in American Legion, let alone the American League.
  13. That's because the NBA in an effort to woe back fans after their strike several years ago, require each team to make available a certain amount of $10 seats. There are several alternatives, the Monday and Tuesday half price night, you can usually get Sox tickets below face on ebay, and the scalpers on 35th usually give you a decent price. Several Sundays are kids days, where kids tickets are $1.Someone also posted that those booklets with the buy one get one free coupons will be returning soon. Cost of going to any professional sporting event is getting outrageous, and don't think the owners don't know that. Is the rule regarding banning people with upper deck tickets from the lower deck fan friendly? That's a question that has been debated at length. The problem is the idiots that went on the field to attack a coach and an umpire all were holding upper deck tickets. MLB advised the White Sox to adopt this policy, their hands were pretty much tied. This policy has been in effect on several occassions before last season, usually when they were expecting a full house. One solution could be selling standing room on the outfield concourse tickets, maybe just making them available the day of the game, which would entitle the fan to access the lower deck but not sit there.
  14. Dransfeldt would have no problem clearing waivers. He is not a very good player.
  15. Griffey left tonights game with a tight hamstring. Whoever wanted the White Sox to trade for this stiff is out of their minds.
  16. Dransfeldt has had some big hits. None were hit particularly hard, and over the course of the season would probably hit less than .200. This last week will probably be the highlight of his career, and will be back in Charlotte next week.
  17. The argument about the location of the park is weak. The neighborhood is as safe or safer now than it was in 91,92,93,94 when they consistently drew well. The park is also nicer than it was then, even Mariotti would have to agree with that. For some reason it became uncool to go to Sox games. Its up to the new guy to figure out how to reverse it. I think he will.
  18. My dad grew up on the northside liking both teams. When he was 14 he became an Andy Frain usher. During a doubleheader at the Urinal, the Cub GM at the time saw my dad leaning against a railing. He told Andy Frain to fire him. Andy liked my dad and told him the story, and that he wasn't going to fire him. He told him to hide in the upper deck the rest of the day. My dad has hated the Cubs ever since, and passed that hatred along to my brother and me.
  19. According to the Tribune, Gallas has resigned after 15 years in the organization.
  20. Now the Cubs miss a tag, and Chimp says most of the time the runner is called out. Its a comedy on foxsportsnet.
  21. Chimp just said Maddux did a "heck of a job today." Because of the wind 7 runs in 6 innings is good. What about the 2 0-2 homeruns? The Urinal really is fantasyland.
  22. Remember, Jose's errors never hurt the White Sox
  23. Just about every jam the Sox have been in this year is either Jose's or Koch's doing.
