  1. Put Uribe at SS. Sit the butcher down.
  2. Scho pitches out of it. Since his first 2 innings this year, he's making KW look like a genius.
  3. Valentin with a high throw on what should have been a DP. He is really struggling with his throwing.
  4. Its funny how he was only going to miss maybe 2 starts. Then he was going to miss a month, and now when they have all of those $250 tickets sold, he may be out for the year.
  5. If this happened at the Cell, the television news would be all over it, the animals throwing stuff on the field. Because its the urinal, we probably won't here a thing about it, or it will be reported as fans being into the game, which because its at the Urinal, you know that can't be the case. Or it will be reported that it was justified.
  6. I think he would make an excellent reliever. Kip Wells would look good in the rotation also.
  7. With McGwire hurt most of 93 and 94 the history of this team with respect to the strike may have been way different. The Sox probably wouldn't have picked up Julio Franco in 94, who was on fire all season. They probably would have not had a 1 game lead on Cleve at the time of the strike, and wouldn't have been thought of as probable WS Champions. JR probably wouldn't be as villified.
  8. That is definitely a fact. Another fact was they had a jersey with his name on it in their clubhouse, but the deal was nixed at the last minute.
  9. McGwire hit 9 homers in 1993 and another 9 in 1994. Both years were injury plagued.

    Koch

Will you be checking out the boys on their upcoming tour? The only uncool thing about going to their concert June 5, is that the Cubs are in town, and Chip Caray will probably be there.

    Koch

He always says the pitches he threw were good, the opposition just beat him. Or if the ball only goes 400 feet, he'll say they didn't get good wood on it. He sucks, and has for 170 games. He will not get any better, at least enough to where you could trust him with a 1 or 2 or 5 run lead. Maybe the Schaumburg Flyers would be willing to take a flier on him. This bullpen needs to be addressed by KW right now before the bullpen's next implosion costs the Sox a game, and some momentum.
  12. Your theory sounds good, but if it were accurate how would you explain the Sox beating KC 2 times and leading a third game after what happened on opening day?
  13. This game is on Ozzie. Garland should have been long gone.
  14. I was sitting right behind home yesterday, and Wright had good movement. He was busting bats left and right. It was a little cold and he hasn't pitched in a while, that could have affected his command. All in all, he didn't have a bad outing. If they give him the ball every fifth day, he will do just fine. If his starts are going to be infrequent and inconsistent, they should move him to the bullpen, where I think he could really excel.
  15. Danny was fine on Sunday. If Valentin could field, he wouldn't have given up a run in the first. If Rowand could bunt or at least advance a runner , he would have beat Mussina and the Yankees. Considering he hasn't pitched for a while he did pretty well. He will only get better with consistent work. I do think he would make a great closer though. He throws real hard.
  16. My wife and I will be attending. We don't get in until Thursday evening, but will be at the Friday, Saturday and Sunday games.
  17. He doesn't have any problem getting wood on the groupies.
  18. I agree. I saw enough last year, and during spring training to know he doesn't have much. The fact that Guillen pulled him with the Sox leading by 3 speaks volumes about what he and the organization really feel about Koch. If he's truly the closer, which Ozzie says he is, why do they yank him in that situation? You knew Marte would face a righty, so it isn't for the lefty/righty match-up. Hopefully, Marte's average spring and horrible start aren't the signs of what's to come.
  19. In his latest column, Gammons has the Cubs winning the World Series. He predicts Colon and Wood as Cy Young winners as well. Considering he is never right, in fact, couldn't be more wrong in most instances, these prognostications are reasons to rejoice on the South Side.
  20. Wright didn't have surgery. He had some pain in his elbow last spring, which caused him to get behind. He didn't pitch much, and couldn't locate at all. If he has control, he is a very good pitcher. That just hasn't happened consistently yet.
  21. If you could get Washburn for Wunsch, you would move Shoe back to the bullpen, and suddenly things don't look so dire anymore. I doubt they could make this trade without giving up at least a better than average prospect.
  22. The Mets are looking to trade Scott Erickson. He doesn't have to accept a minor league assignment, and has pitched well this spring. Their bullpen only has Stanton and Franco from the left side. The White Sox could probably use Erickson, although I hear he is a Class A Asshole. Just a thought. I think the money is about the same.
  23. KW was after him when he played for Montreal......
