  1. He was at the Winter Meetings with JR. In fact, on mlb.com on the picture section of the meetings there is one with JR, Eddie, and the man they just fleeced, Danny Evans.
  2. JR is definitely involved. We just found out why he made a rare appearance at the Winter Meetings.
  3. Rumors are one thing, but these are beyond rumors. Magglio definitely could be brought back, but ARod, Nomar, and Manny need new homes.
  4. I would think at this point they have to work it out. It would be a train wreck of a situation if these guys all returned to their current teams.
  5. I wonder what kind of effect the sale of the Dodgers will have in all this. Evidently, the sale is in great jeopardy. The potential buyer is financing the purchase completely with loans. Unless he changes this, he will not be approved.
  6. Gammons confirms this part on the ESPN website. I wonder if Vizquel was failed on his physical when Seattle became aware they may be able to get Nomar from the White Sox?
  7. That is an old report. Gammons now has confirmed that the deal is in place. Probably confirms the Sun-Times report.
  8. Either way KW one-ups Danny Evans. It more than makes up for the Berry-Barry fiasco.
  9. In fact, it was JR who recommended Tellum to Thomas. I think Tellum was also Albert Belle's agent.
  10. No its a possible White Sox trade. If it were the Cubs, they would be breaking into regularly scheduled programming
  11. Do you think that Seattle found out the White Sox would be able to send them Nomar, so they failed Vizquel on his physical?
  12. The Tampa GM said there is virtually no chance he'll trade Huff, and it would cost an arm and a leg to get him. Gonzalez could be had cheap, and if healthy would post offensive numbers equal to Magglio. Huff would be an awesome pick up, but I think the cost would be prohibitive.
  13. I thought this whole thing was BS, and it looks like I was wrong. What this does confirm is JR made the correct decision when he hired KW over Danny Evans. Evans is getting played like a fiddle, and if he wants Nomar from KW he'll have to do it on KW's terms.
  14. I think Juan Gone-zalez is a definite possibility. KW was seen talking to his agent at the Winter Meetings.
  15. Sorry, it was on the next page. I did get a good night's rest though.
  16. He failed his physical with Seattle. Could Manos be back in Seattle's mix?
  17. This Guillen/Vizquel trade makes no sense from a Seattle perspective. Guillen is better at this stage, and Vizquel makes more than twice as much. The only thing could be off the field. I know Guillen was charges with a DWI, I wonder if he is close with Garcia. Maybe they plan to keep Garcia, and keep all the bad influences away.
  18. KW made it clear from the start, even telling Everett he would not be offered arbitration. The guy on the other board really has everyone going. Supposedly, Boston is going to pay $5 million of Ramirez contract. Even after losing Nomar, they added Foulke and Schilling, I doubt they could afford Magglio. Magglio has to stay. My wife and I named our puppy after him, and are bringing him to Dog Day next season.
  19. Cub pitchers really liked throwing to him. I would be glad to see him gone.
  20. It makes no sense. They could have signed him before December 7th, the arbitration deadline. They could have offered him arbitration under the condition he would refuse it, in order to buy time to negotiate. The way this scenerio plays out, the Sox are giving prospects away for nothing. I think the guy, Otis, on the other board is full of it, and is taking a lot of people for a ride.
  21. I would really doubt they would give a Buerhle a no trade. I haven't seen anything, but there really is no chance he has one.

    rumor

Its not trading for someone and trading away immediately I'm not sure about. I don't know if you can sign a free agent and trade him away immediately.

I would agree with you, but it is Magglio Ordonez we are talking about. It would be hard for Boston to find a player like him available anywhere else. Besides, if you are going to trade him, you owe it to your organization and fan base to get the best deal that's out there.
