waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!! Im a die hard sox fan and id rather see the celebration than a meaningless AL central game. HAHAHHAHAH.... you're so right. I think sometimes Sox fans have it too far up their ass to be sensical about things. I mean, I DISLIKE the Cubs too, but c'mon.. that team and their fans deserve the airtime over a bunch of chokebags that are lookin at finishing out of first. The sox game is meaningless. It definitely deserves coverage, but they have to consider the audience. Don't do these cute little stories that even die hard Cub fans don't care about. Most of the people tuned into the Sox game could care less about the Cubs winning the division. If they really cared they would have been watching the Cub game on FSN or if they didn't have cable at a bar. They could have watched the celebration on 4 different stations. If I recall correctly, when the Sox won, the just ran a little crawl at the bottom of the screen during the Cub game.

Bob James. He was ugly, and always sweating up a storm. He sweat more than Patrick Ewing. He was effective for awhile. Although I also loved the Goose. I loved him even more when he was serving up gopher balls for the Cubs.
-
He didn't like US Cellular Field. Said it is a "scary place"
-
Channel 2 just said that some Sox fans might jump on the Cubs bandwagon now that a Chicago team has won the pennant. Clueless.
-
I could understand a little coverage, but to talk to drunk Cub fans is really pissing me off. The probably had to be prepped before they went on camera, and told what just happened. Put the game back on Bozo.

I'm trying to figure out why WGN pre-empted the Sox game to show this celebration. Its seems to me the people who were tuned into the Sox game would be the last people who wanted to see this.

I was thinking of buying them, and then putting them on ebay. People are paying $200 a piece for nosebleeds.

You can find 2 together in just about every level. Use the seating level, not the price. Do best available, then change the level.
-
Just for those interested, there are a bunch of Bears Packers MNF tickets available right now on ticketmaster. The only catch is you have to pick the UPS delivery which they are guaranteeing by Monday at 10:30 am

Having Koch and Konerko fall off the face of the earth hurt. If Manuel knew how to use his pitching staff, that would have helped as well.
-
I don't think the Sox talent was head and shoulders above Minnesota's. If you look at it position by position you would take Lee in LF, Hunter in CF, Magglio in RF. Koskie at 3B Guzman at SS, probably Alomar at 2B and Meindkdkjffld at 1B and Pierkddksdd at C. The Sox starting pitchers are better, the bullpen you would have to give to Minn with Koch so bad this year. The Twins are much better up the middle. I don't think if LaRussa were managing the White Sox this year things would be much different. Although I do like the fact he doesn't like Dusty Baker. I watch Tony manage the White Sox for 7 years, and that was enough. I really doubt he'll be back anyway.
-
Dikta was a crappy coach. The defense won the Bears the Super Bowl, and he had nothing to do with that. Give him inferior talent like he had in New Orleans and look what happened. LaRussa wouldn't make anyone forget Jerry Manuel, in fact, with all his tinkering and goofy line ups he would remind people of him. He would be a big waste of money.
-
The only time LaRussa ever won he had by far the most talent in his division. This man is overrated. He has a lot of wins, I'll give him that, but you can give a lot of guys the teams he's had, and their records would be just as good or better. Only 1 World Series win with that A's team is almost more unbelievable than the Bears winning only 1 Super Bowl with their teams of the mid 80's

I don't know about his managing skills, but he had quite a performance in the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders movie.

So they can tear their labrums and screw up next season

please say no to Bucky Dent.
-
They have to get Hawk to go to the press conference, have him walk up to the podium and say HE GAWN and walk away.
-
You are assuming they made a profit or broke even with attendance at this level.
-
All it takes is for the Cubs to miss the playoffs by one game. Then the 4 out of 6 the Sox took from them will definitely cushion the blow a bit from the dissappointing finish.
-
Manuel has to go and will go because he doesn't know how to run a pitching staff, which is the most important thing a manager does, and he can't motivate his players enough to get them to even run out a ground ball. Next time you watch a game, watch how lazily the Sox players go down the line on a groundball, the ONLY person who really busts his ass everytime is Rowand. A true leader wouldn't let that happen time and time again without saying something. How many times do the Sox throw to the wrong base and/or miss the cutoff man? Too many to mention. The same players make the same mistakes over and over and nothing is done about it. How many stupid baserunning mistakes are made time and time again? Either JM isn't saying anything to them, or they are ignoring him. How many ill fated bunt attempts have we seen the last couple of years? I'm glad the players like Manuel, he seems to be a great person. Too bad they didn't think enough of him to play anywhere near their potential. With 38 games against Cleveland and Detroit , there is no way this team should have had less than 95 wins.

My point is we were close to seeing baseball history this season. JM benching Paulie earlier robbed us of that. I am kidding of course.
-
With his 2 GIDPs last night, Paulie's season total is 27. Jim Rice grounded into 36 in 1984. Too bad JM had Paulie ride a lot of pine earlier, or he could have made baseball history this season.

Larkin would get hurt during batting practice. He turned down 500,000 from the Reds. I wouldn't give him 500,000. He is done.
-
Jose said he would agree to a salary cut, if the White Sox assured him they would keep the team competitive. Wouldn't putting him in the line up everyday hurt the team's chances of being competitive.
-
Where was that when we needed it???

Congrats to Maggs on his first ever walk-off homer
