  1. I agree. It's what's best for the team, not what's best for Buehrle. He'll get his chance to pitch in Yankee Stadium when it counts. Plus it's only 5-3, the Sox haven't lost the game yet. lol so cotts being started today against the yanks in the midst of a pennant race is whats good for the team??? come on guys your not serious here are you?????? that was probably the worst thing that jm and company could have done.. not only did they mess up our chances of winning today but they may very well have ruined any clubhouse attitude with everyone being pissed off about the decision and being forced to take sides on the decision..........this is not something you do when your going for a division title and playoff hopes........... AMEN
  2. Buerhle had his usual rest, he should have been in there. There is no guarantee Buerhle will win tomorrow at Detroit. Cotts was like a deer in headlights at Yankee Stadium. Veterans are intimidated there. Buerhle wanted the ball, you give him the ball. Who knows, maybe he would have been awful today too. But give yourself the best chance to win. The psyche of this team would be unbelievable if they had a sweep in New York. It wasn't fair to Buerhle, and it was fair to Cotts, who is not ready to pitch in the big leagues, let alone Yankee Stadium.
  3. Carlos..........look like a baffoon?...........................................nah...............
  4. I can't imagine Cotts getting another start until the race has been decided.
  5. Imagine having to type Farmer's long winded descriptions of nothing.
  6. You should take Farmer's place in the radio booth. Then the GUG could get back to where he rightfully belongs.
  7. Wright was awesome in Yankee Stadium last year. He beat them 8-1. Soriano put one into the first row down the left field line, for the only blemish.
  8. Cotts would have a much better chance at succeeding against Detroit, than he does at Yankee Stadium. If Buerhle was ready to go, it was stupid not to start him. Don't you want your best pitchers pitching against the better teams?
  9. That's exactly right. There is no proof Wells would have re-signed with the Sox. You certainly couldn't use his word. Didn't he have a handshake agreement with Jerry Colangelo to sign with the D-Backs, but when The Big Stein offered to take him back he backed out of the deal? He's a weasel.
  10. Daubach was my second choice. I bet she would be afraid of him
  11. He had problems with his back for several years, it wasn't until his career was threatened that he decided to get in shape. At least in shape for him. You've made a big point about Bartolo doing things for other teams he was with and not the Sox. Wells was horrible for the Sox. He was supposedly Mr. complete game, he won 5 games. He didn't live up to his end of the deal. At least he didn't cost the Sox anything but a lot of money. $2 million a win, $625,000 a start.
  12. Wells made 16 starts with the Sox. He was paid $9 million + a $1 million buyout. $10 million for 16 starts and 5 wins. His record was 5-7 his era 4.47. He was 30 pounds heavier than he is now, he is the original tub of goo. To defend him and rip Bartolo is ridiculous. He really led the team. Every argument against Bartolo this guy was guilty of times ten. You are right about one thing, he is a tool.
  13. Frank didn't get the MVP in 2000 when he deserved it. So he probably has no chance to win it this year unless,as was stated above,he hit 50 homers and hit over .300. That would be a long shot. If he did win it, I'd would like to see Bruce Levine hand him the hardware.
  14. Your mom wants Sox tickets for her birthday? She's awesome
  15. I agree. I think the embarassment of being swept by them last time, and the pennant race should be ample motivation.
  16. put Schoenweis out there again. Maybe he can get straightened out.
  17. Its the ultimate low blow, and cheap shot. Its just that you think like one. While everyone here wants every player to do well, reality is not everyone on the Sox is an outstanding major league player.
  18. The Sox usually play well in Yankee Stadium. They took 2 out of 3 last year, and scored a lot of runs. 2000 they killed the Yankees there.
  19. If you liked Clayton, you need rehab. Please go get yourself some help.
