  1. I also think you can't pick up another 3rd baseman without getting rid of Crede. Joe cannot ride pine, it would ruin any chance he has for a good career. He still shows a few flashes, and we know he can get hot. He has a lot of potential. I personally would have given him up for Williamson and Boone, in an effort to win now, but I can't see giving him up without getting a ton in return.
  2. You can't give up Crede unless your getting a thirdbaseman back. The 5th starter supposedly only has 6 more turns the rest of the year. For this reason, I'd like the Sox to pick up Escobar. He could start these six games, plus has experience in the bullpen, which would be very helpful down the stretch. Suppan would be ideal as well. I wish I knew the asking price for these 2.
  3. On BBTN Gammons said KW was "heartbroken" he didn't get Williamson.
  4. Let's get the real pitchers in the game
  5. Somebody better tell White his role is not to pitch batting practice.
  6. I wonder if JM told White he'd pitch in the 8th tonight, before the game. Probably not, it doesn't appear he is ready to pitch.
  7. Before I get my hopes up, I remember its Gammons with the info.
  8. Gammons was just on, he said the Sox were still in it for Boone, and believed the Sox would get Suppan. If this comes to fruition, start printing playoff tickets.
  9. If that report is accurate, KW's brain cells may, I repeat, may, be regenerating.
  10. We have to get into that KC bullpen, even with Leskanic and Lloyd it is WEAK.
  11. I'll take a mulligan on that last post. You can put in on the booooaaaarrrrd yessssssssss.
  12. Crede a stud ? Look at the numbers. Crede a bust, more likely.
  13. The Big Stein might not be able to get him if the Reds want prospects. The Yankees minor league system is drying up pretty quickly. I think Crede would have some value to Cincinatti. Boone and Williamson for Crede and a prospect which was mentioned in an earlier post would excite me.
  14. Then we would have Osuna and Biddle. The bullpen would be nails. Maybe even Rick White would be happy.
  15. I was just going back to how horrible that Ritchie trade was. Wells would be a great #5 starter, Fogg could really help in the bullpen, also from what they paid Ritchie and what these 2 make they'd have an extra $1 -1.5 million in the bank to go after even more help. The Marte trade was great, but the Ritchie trade made no sense. Wells had just as many wins as he did the previous season, was younger, and a lot cheaper. Fogg was pretty effective out of the bullpen for the Sox in 2001. I do need to get over it.
  16. Josh Fogg and Kip Wells would look good in White Sox uniforms right now, wouldn't they? KW might have traded away the pennant with that move.
  17. While I agree JM needs to locked in his office during the game, Rick White should just shut his cum catcher and get somebody out. What difference does it make what inning your coming in? If he didn't suck so royally earlier in the year maybe he would have a defined role. His pitching has been more inconsistent than JM's hairbrained ideas.
  18. One of KW's most brilliant acquisitions.
  19. His contract calls for $6.25 million in 2004, and $9.25 million in 2005
  20. One pitcher who is supposedly very available right now is Freddie Garcia. He's been pretty brutal all year except for June, when he was nearly untouchable. Since Steff heard the former "mind blowing" deal Hawk mentioned was for a west coast pitcher, I wonder if it was him. They, as always, need a LF, we have an extra one or two, and probably a decent prospect or two. One article I read said that Seattle, if they don't trade him may non-tender him this off season. He is arbitration eligible, and makes a ton of money. It does scare me that he is only .500 for a great Seattle team, but if it financially could be done, and Garcia pitched like he has in the past, the Sox would win the Central easily.
  21. You know these prospects more than me(I the only one I had even heard of was Webster before the trade) so I will buy into your oppionion that these guys were very good players. My only point is that you can't call a trade a disater, overpayment, etc till you see how these guys do in the majors. This is true. Look how far Borchard's stock has fallen with many during the last year, and these kids are lower than him. It is possible, however, that the Sox got majorly hoodwinked, but we won't know for several years. It does seem like the Sox may have overpaid, considering what the Rangers agreed to take for Gonzalez while paying the rest of his contract, before he blocked it.

Although, like Jimenez, he may be on his best behavior initially, and help with the playoff push. It would all depend on the price you would have to pay to get him, but I would not be opposed. If the Sox are going to seriously make a playoff push, the #5 starter really needs to be looked at. Porzio has been alright, but everyone knows its just a matter of time before he gets consistently lit up. :fthecubs :sosasucks
  23. If Koch didn't blow the game in KC the first series of the year, and didn;t blow the game in Tampa we'd be 1 back as well. The KC game was a 2 game swing.
  24. They were the ones with SOX across the front and numbers on the leg.
  25. They will be wearing them all weekend Sept.5-7. Big Frank will look cool in that space suit.
