  1. They brushed it off yesterday. That was worse than either attack here, a little kid got injured.Good thing that didn't happen here, it would have been treated like a terrorist attack.
  2. After the sweep of the Twins, they are playing like they did the previous 2.5 months. I think the stretch between the Cubs and Twins was a fluke and they are back to their old, (very old) ways. I think 4-6 would be a more realistic record for this road trip.
  3. Thats a good point cwsox. 1 more thing I noticed, every year, HR totals in the 1st half have different people in the HR Derby. When it was in Coors Field, I remember Damion Easly was in the HRD! he had like 11 HR's before the AS break! It didn't seem to throw off the other contestants. Konerko hurt his foot last year, he shouldn't have even been playing. That's what caused his dropoff. A lot of these guys play homerun derby everyday in bp its not going to affect their swings.
  4. I'd vote for Alfonseca but he's not on the ballot.
  5. His velocity has dropped? Better make sure KW didn't hear that or Weaver will be starting for the Sox tomorrow.
  6. These are games lost that should have been won. You can't get them back. If the Sox miss the playoffs by a couple of games, these are the games you will look back on. They didn't lose any ground, great. They should have gained ground. The other frustrating thing is they are losing the same way they did before this recent hot streak. I'm not freaked out, just terribly disappointed. We could be/ should be tied with Minnesota right now 2.5 back of KC, putting the pressure on.
  7. In the 7th, he sends Olivo to the plate with the bases loaded and 2 out with Ordonez sitting on the bench. Why not pinch hit then? Instead he waits to the 9th with the score 3-0 and nobody on. That kid did everything in his power to walk Olivo in the 7th, Miquel was too excited and swung at at least 3 pitches that were balls. If Magglio was at bat, the pitcher would have been tripley nervous and who knows what might have happened. If the game was tied, Sandy probably doesn't try to throw the guy out at third and with two out that basehit would have been handled because Alomar wouldn't have been cheating towards second for the double play. It all is moot, and who knows, if the Sox had the lead maybe JM would have thrown Koch out in the bottom of the ninth.
  8. If the Sox take the lead , will JM forget he demoted Krotch yesterday?
  9. He hasn't sat out all week, he must be tired.
  10. Why not pinch hit for Olivo last time he was up? He hasn't been hitting sour apples lately?
  11. Why is Mags pinch hitting now down 3-0 and not down 1-0 with the bases loaded and 2 out? JM is not exactly a tactical genius.
  12. They interviewed Pinella before the game. Every pitcher on Tampa Bay is minimum salary.
  13. There's something on the other board that the White Sox and Yankees are talking Gordon and Cotts for Weaver.
  14. Next time Crotch comes in the game, the fielders should throw their gloves in the stands, like he did when he rightfully got yanked that one game. They don't need em. Walk, walk, rocket homerun. Crawford had 1 homer all season kock blows.
  15. He sucked when he threw 100. Now when he's topping out at 88 the little league teams at Armour Park are licking their chops. Maybe they'll let Billy throw batting practice at the all star game. Frank should definetly use him as his pitcher for the homerun contest. It probably wouldn't be allowed, an unfair advantage, unless they let everyone else cork their bats..........
  16. Everytime the guy comes in something bad happens. If JM can't figure that out by now,he needs to go. Who else sticks with a bum this long. You want a trade that'll blow my mind, and help get us to a World Series, how about JM for Lou Pinella.
  17. Your thinking of Phil Rogers.
  18. He also wrote that Corky went "high over the wall" to rob Valentin of a homer.Made it sound like he pulled a Torii Hunter. He probably jumped 2 inches high to catch it. Remember who he works for, he wants to keep his job.
  19. Schilling will never play for JR, too many labor troubles. I doubt the Mets would trade Glavine.
  20. FYI, I was looking in JR's box high above US Cellular Field yesterday. KW and Rick Hahn were in there. Rick Hahn was on the cell phone for most of the night. If this means anything, I don't know
  21. I can proudly say that no one in my section participated in the wave the last 2 nights.
  22. Now theres 2 polls about polls this is great
  23. Maybe we should have a poll asking if there are too many polls
  24. Jack McKeon sounded a lot like Dusty Baker last Friday night.
