  1. I read an article about Paulie either last year or the year before, and his dad said he was pretty cheap. He still took money out of a cash station $20 at a time. I find it strange that he is building where he is, but whatever floats his and her boat...........
  2. Couples in their 20's with a boatload of money don't live in Bridgeport. And its not because of a lack of bars. The time he saves coming home after games he loses when he wants to go out . Believe me, his fiance would enjoy herself a lot more if Paulie bought a penthouse condo in a building downtown. I don't think that there are many people in the neighborhood he is building in that have much in common with him or his wife to be.
  3. Yea, I was joking about Jimbo's. I just thought because the area gets such a bad rap as being so dangerous maybe JR might have "suggested" Paulie move around there to try and help get rid of that perception.
  4. He could hang out at Jimbo's. Its at 33rd and Princeton. I do agree that the area is kind of strange for a $6 million a year athlete to live in, he could live downtown and be a few minutes away from the park, and close to everything. Do you think it might be something in his new contract, have a few guys move into the neighborhood, to try and get the neighborhood rejuvenated.
  5. That was the play of the game. It changed everyone who came to bat after that approach from hitting a homer or extra basehit to a single.
  6. I'm not a big fan of Alomar at this point, maybe being back with his brother would spark him. Plus, anything to get Jimenez off the field would be a big plus to our chances.
  7. Sandy Alomar Jr. in the Cubune on Corky's earplugs, "I wasn't sure if it was an earplug or cork coming out of his head"
  8. A couple more months of no improvement and we may have Drew Henson Jr. on our hands.
  9. I think I can say he would have blown the save. He sucks, if he can throw a strike its 90-91 and straight, batting practice to major league hitters. What has he done in a Sox uniform to inspire any confidence in him?
  10. Next time you see DJ take a close look at his eyes. He looks like he's been sucking on a 3 foot graphics bong for a few hours before gametime.
  11. The bottom line is even if Jimenez scores, they bring in Koch and he'll blow the lead. He, just like several other members of the team, sucks. He cost us a perfectly good closer. He's throwing 10 mph slower than before. He blows. He can't be relied on with a lead or a tie. He's being paid a lot of money to do a job he is not getting done, last nights loss wasn't entirely on him. It was the same crap that has been going on all season. Crappy defense, crappy baserunning, no clutch hitting and Koch getting hit hard.
  12. As Sox fans, " what might have been", is all we have. It's the woulda's, coulda's, and shoulda's that drive people to the insane asylum. Watching Koch pitch will also drive you insane, so I guess we are all screwed.
  13. As Sox fans, " what might have been", is all we have.
  14. With Buerhle's mindset about the Metrodome and after last nights tragedy its going to be tough to win today.
  15. I agree, but it ain't gonna happen. I don't know how they're going to add the 10 mph he's lost on his fastball. They think this 10 mph will magically re appear. Koch is the soft tosser of the bullpen, White, Glover, Gordon, Marte all throw harder than him I think Sanders does as well. Remember, this was a guy who was shaky when he was throwing 100. At 90-91 he is absolutely brutal.
  16. There is no emotion on this team. Everyone has the same expressionless look whether they win or lose. They need some fire and JM needs to be let out of his misery. Since the beginning of the 2001 season how many games have they lost that they should have won, and how many games have they won that they should have lost? The latter you can count on one hand.
  17. Koch, Glover, White, pick your poison, once the Sox didn't score in the 10th the game was over. They should trade Koch to some other AL team and pay all of his salary, a team that they have a lot of games left with. If he faced us he may be able to wake up our anemic offense.
  18. He has to be hurt, I bet he has a torn labrum.
  19. Larry Monroe used to ref my sophomore basketball games in high school. That was 23 years ago. I sure hope JR has put a little more gas in his tank (salary-wise). He was a star a Forest View high school in the 70's and a Sox 1st round draft pick. He is a real nice guy.
  20. The first inning is the best inning to score runs, you have your best hitters hitting. There is a reason Frank has 85 or so first inning homers. He bats in the first every game.
  21. Foulke was acquired by Schueler. KW wants to win with players he's responsible for getting, he wants all the credit. He's an ego-maniac. Did anyone else notice at the Soxfest seminars he always sat a chair away from everyone else on the stage, separating himself. At no time last year did Foulke pitch as bad as Koch has this year, yet he was removed from the closers role and Koch stays. KW looks like a bigger fool everytime Koch takes the mound. I hope Foulke gets 50 saves, he was awesome here except for one bad stretch, we were totally ripped off that trade.
  22. With the condition of Drew's knee, I doubt he could play CF everyday. Plus the Sox have Buerhle cheap, some team would really have to overpay talent and performance wise for them to even consider trading Buerhle. I can't see that happening.
  23. How about a walk then a 90 mph fastball down the middle for the game-winning homer
  24. If Botch screws up Manuel should be fired.
