It seems logical he would come to that conclusion but I think his ego won't let him. He likes to go back and tell everyone they were wrong g about something and he was right. When they won the division in 83, he could have said anything joyous, but it was Harry and Jimmy were the scum of the earth. When the won the division in 2000, his first thought was how everyone was wrong about the White flag trade. When LaRussa made the HoF, he just wished Harry Caray was alive to see it. He's been so wrong lately but he will keep Gwtz around until he can say I told you so. It's really odd.

Better he f*** something up with his own money than public funds.

Yes for the White Sox to sign decent free agents they have to overpay. The same money, why would you walk into this situation. Plus, look at just about every significant White Sox free agent signing. There is an exception or 2 , but signing with the White Sox is a career killer. It’s where your career goes to die.

I’m not a professional so I may be way off, but the Dodgers couldn’t get him to hit or field, so I’m thinking the Sox will fail.

Chasing Records — 121 losses, modern MLB record

That was after a 3-22 July. -
I’d be a Brewers fan. They can cry about injuries just as much as the White Sox, maybe more. They traded a big time pitcher, just like the White Sox. They are going to the playoffs. The White Sox are a national joke.

No player symbolizes Chris Getz Player Development like Lenyn Sosa

I think what is going on at 3B shows just how backwards this organization is. Of the 4 younger guys, Sosa, Vargas, Ramos, and Montgomery, the 2 least likely to be the White Sox 3b of the future are the 2 getting reps there. Everyone except the White Sox, a common theme this year, knows Vargas isn’t a 3B. Most everyone except the White Sox knows Sosa is a benchwarmer on a mediocre team. I get not calling up Montgomery this year, but there is zero reason Ramos isn’t playing out the string at 3B. -
It makes more sense than hiring Getz. Considering his previous titles, Getz either bears some responsibility for the previous failure, or was a coffee boy. Either way, it should have made him unqualified, and he is proving that in real time.

I think they are going to have to be crazy lucky to ever be in contention with Getz and his crew. JR needs to admit his mistake and try again. It won't happen for many more years.

They actually started playing better the second half and rolled it over to one of the teams most enjoyable seasons in 1990. -
The problem is pitchers get hurt, and when they do, it usually is for a year or more. So you have to figure some of their better guys are going to go down at some point,.Hopefully, the timing is when the team sucks and is going to suck anyway, and not when their presence can make a difference in contenting or not.

It’s a sad state of affairs.

Their attempts to address the offense thus far gives every indication they don’t have the ability to recognize that particular skill. Since Getz was hired initially, who have the White Sox developed that has come to the major leagues and met or surpassed what was originally projected? Maybe Burger, and they flipped him for garbage. Not Vaughn. Not Eloy. Not Moncada. Not even Robert. And just about everyone else has been below replacement level.
-
I see no hope for any offense for a long while. Getz can’t develop it. That has been proven. They probably will have to trade pitching depth for it, but the early returns on that is pretty lame. Deloache and Fletcher and Vargas.None seem like it would move the needle.

The other amazing thing, is the Sox have been able to do this during a season with the most parity in a long time. It’s possible no one wins more than 95 games. -
I’ll never fault people for going to games. I had season tickets over 30 years so I’ve paid to watch my fair share of bad baseball. And I understand the love of being there. Maybe that’s faded for me a bit. I used to go 65-75 times a year. Last year was the first year I gave up my tickets. I went to around 20 games. This year I have gone to 1 game. In. Milwaukee. I’m at the point where I cannot give JR my money for this crap. I just can’t. I still watch most of the games, but at least I get my time spent traveling to and from back. My company has tickets to all the pro teams in town and occassionally has a raffle when they are available. They are all primo. The other day, the White Sox were the first where no one was interested.

A quote from Rick Telanders piece today No, it’s not a nice thing. But this failure should be honored as a symbol of badness, of what can happen when nobody at the top gives a damn. Or, maybe worse, when they do care but are too dumb or arrogant to know they haven’t a clue. -
Congrats to Flexen on 20 in a row.
