  1. have no idea, but you would think it would be something he could have got out of.
  2. Schriff and Stone were DFA'd No, John is doing NBA summer league games and Steve is taking a break.
  3. Last 2 starts 13 innings 2 hits 21 strikeouts.
  4. Your boy Getz did something that only 13 other people in MLB history have done. Build a team that only won 27 of its first 100 games. Can’t waste a year. Great hire. He knew it was the hitting coach keeping this team down last season.
  5. That is a good point. As much as I think his material plays better with a team that isn’t historically horrible, if they were good, his ass kissing more than likely goes up a few levels. And why is it OK for Schriffen to miss games doing summer league NBA and Jason thrown to the curb for actually doing major sports?
  6. When Bowden was a GM, he had a reputation of valuing his players way too high. He would never had made this trade from a White Sox perspective.
  7. Or as John Schriffen calls him, future superstar Bryan Ramos.
  8. He's definitely a different type player than the Sox have called up in recent years. I do think it is too soon, and really don't want the Sox top guys getting too tight with these losers. 27-71 and it's a happy clubhouse tells you all you need to know about the mindset of most of the roster.
  9. The thing is, yeah I get you sign crap like this to see if you can get him figured out, but the Reds couldn't do it. The Nats couldn't do it this year. The White Sox can't get their own guys to hit and field. How is this guy going to find something in 60 games? Its a waste of money that they will claim they don't have when needed.
  10. I feel like Tiger fans felt when they signed Gordon Beckham.
  11. Sosa had a hot streak and has been pretty bad outside of it. But I still don't understand in the Sox current situation, why you would rather give ABs to Senzel and not Sosa.
  12. Lee becomes the primary catcher just as his OPS tumbles almost below .600. Sosa and Mendick gone, two others Stome and the Schriff couldn’t praise enough.
  13. How are they going to spin this in the broadcast booth? They always told us how valuable he is, now they will pay him to sit on his couch and eat sausages .
  14. It is, but haven't they tortured Sox fans enough? Now we get to watch this dope? No hit, no field, never healthy, owed minimum, that's a 4 tool player under the White Sox model.
  15. He can’t hit. He can’t field. He can’t stay healthy. A White Sox trifecta.
  16. Jason away from Steve is about as good as it gets.
  17. Schriffen would be a lot easier to listen to if the team was at least average. There isn't anything regarding the White sox he doesn't try to sell at less than elite. But I do think a lot of his schtick I would find enjoyable if the team was good. He reminds me of that Bear a few years ago who did a sack dance when they were down 40, and messed up his knee. A sack dance, a bat flip, all that stuff is great when used when its supposed to be used. But it looks so amateurish when used incorrectly. One article I read did point out he was at ESPN for years, and it wasn't like he was getting plum assignments. He wasn't getting fired either . So he probably isn't awful. 27-71 doesn't help. But just about every game there's something you can tell he needs to work on.
  18. He struck the 1-1 guy out 3 times. Health going forward is all that really matters. If he has it, he's a stud. If he doesn't, well...................College hitters couldn't touch him in the zone.
  19. You look at Smith and figure this is a guy who could probably be picked 1-1 some years. His only question is he doesn't pitch a lot of innings.
  20. Every GM JR has hired, had never been a GM before. I think, and I may be way off, it’s because JR fancies himself the de facto GM, and wants someone who will just be grateful. He had trouble with Larry Himes, the guy who might have been his best. Set the team up for a great run, but was fired because JR didn’t like him. Larry probably told him to butt out. Even Hahn supposedly tried to quit after JR pulled rank, and he was told he would be held to his contract, so no pay and no work. Too bad, maybe a divisional foe would have hired him. I think that’s why Getz has the job he has never deserved, and shows this almost every day.
  21. This guy is nice. The swing and miss numbers are off the charts.
