  1. If Lucas Giolito can get $20 million a year for 2 years, JR better sell. He can’t compete. Again I ask, how is what the Sox are currently doing any different or better than actually doing a search for a GM and hiring the best candidate and their actions “wasting a year”. His reason for hiring Getz was that he knew the organization. Considering they thought they had built a sustainable winning contender for years, and what they actually were, wouldn’t logic dictate the White Sox employees didn’t know what they had and what they were? And to think other teams employees know nothing about White Sox current players and prospects, and would need a year to figure it out makes no sense. Other teams know better than the Sox. That has been proven. The only reason they hired Pedro was because he told them what they wanted to hear, and they got what they bought.
  2. This is brilliant. An event at a museum. Keep everyone from actually thinking baseball.
  3. Non playoff bowl games have turned into the Pro Bowl with all the better players sitting out. I think if a player decides to healthy scratch themselves, they should have to return all the NIL money they have collected.
  4. He’s 29, he has a 5 career ERA and his FIP is the same. Chances are, he’s a bad pitcher. The one caveat is he does have some control if somehow he reverts to his best season. Very unlikely. To me I thought, it’s whatever.? JR is showing he lied when he finally made public comments. And they seem to be all in on “culture” thinking everything changes if all the guys they bring in regardless of talent level are nice boys who call their mom every day. For once, I’d like them to identify the problem as either a lack of talent, and they have to improve the talent level, or if they really believe the talent level is fine, the total, utter lack of leadership, and not from players. Pin it on who it should be pinned, their joke of a manager. If the problem is culture, how is he exempt?
  5. Watch Pro Football Weekly on NBCSC. He said he heard it from a really good source. What do you put on a hat before it goes down your gullet?
  6. Rumor out there by Hub that Sean Payton may get fired. Apparently he doesn't get along with the wrong people not to get along with in Denver. He'd look good on rhe west sideline at Soldier Field.
  7. This is reminding me of the Bill Veeck era. Time to sell JR.
  8. For a second there I thought he might have taken too big of dose of nugenix.
  9. Generally, unless the post is obviously so ridiculous and I give it a laugh, if I'm giving any emoji, I'm digging the post because I'm old and don't want to learn new s%*#. Emojis weren't around in the 80s when players used to bunt, and you could put a 1B in the OF and intentionally walk guys with 1 and 2 counts, and people wouldn't run to their computers or phones to complain brother.
  10. Terrence Shannon Jr. arrested for rape. Suspended from the Illini. What a dope. If he was averaging 3 points a game he wouldn’t be suspended, he would be dismissed.
  11. There is a possibility George Brett could still hit. It might take him a half an hour to get to first though.
  12. If Elias was smart enough to built that organization like he did, he knows eventually he's going to have a 40 man roster crunch. Maybe not this year, maybe not next, but it's coming. Trades are a way to alleviate that. And there really aren't a lot of guys with Cease's skillset available at the salary he will make.
  13. I think you can take other trades into consideration. 2 top guys are good, if it's 3 or 4 guys, the last guy or two is more a lottery ticket than highly thought of prospect.
  14. Elias really built that organization up. I had no idea they were that stacked in the minors even after graduating studs. Learn a lesson White Sox. Wish JR hired him for the first rebuild instead of leaving it to Larry and Curly.
  15. A younger better Maldonado played for the 2019 Royals who lost 103 games. It didn't seem to do much for them going forward as they have sucked since.
  16. I have wanted the Bears to get rid of Eberflus for quite a while, but when he took over the defense, they got much better. Fields is almost exactly the same as last year. There are flashes of a HOFer, followed by flashbacks of previous Bears QBs. It's really a tough call. I read where Fields would only get you a 2nd or 3rd rounder in a trade. I think if you did that, you would look ripped off one day. It's a tough call. The trade they made last year turns out to be masterful. I think I would keep Eberflus and get a new OC with some flexibility.
  17. What I don't get is how much credit people give catchers. I think they are expecting miracles. If you hated the White Sox catchers in 2023, and think these new old guys will fix pitchers, you would need to explain how Touki pitched just as well or better with the White Sox crap as he did with ATL, CLE, and LAD. And he's one of the guys that needs to be "fixed". The pitchers traded, except for Diekman did the same or worse, and no one would blame Diekmans suckage on catchers. Even Lance Lynn had a FIP a run higher with the Dodgers. Lynn also had probably the best season on his career in 2021 with the White sox catchers. I think they are going totally overboard with this. A year from now, there will be new pitchers and new catchers. What will be the gain?
  18. It’s possible, but if she tells you she’s 19, and looks 21, but is 14, if you’re an adult and do certain things, you are in a lot of trouble. Supposedly Franco has had “relationships” with at least 3 underaged girls. It appears this wasn’t an innocent mistake by him. BTW, I wonder what his wife thinks.
  19. Korey Lee has the same skill sets as the others. Defense should be decent, power, doesn't get on base much, has a pitchers batting average. But he's at the age where you usually improve, these others are on the downslope. I think one would be fine, but 2 is strange to me.
  20. I agree. You want to improve the culture? Develop, sign and trade for better players, and hire a manager that can handle the job. Not a guy who is afraid of veterans but will make strange examples out of rookies.
  21. Im going with Alexander. Was with Bannister in SF last season, and was with, of course, the Royals when Pedro Brown nose was there.
  22. Great changing the culture, then leaving after 1 season. I find it hard to believe one guy can change a culture moving forward in that span of time, especially with a roster that isn't going to be there in a couple of years either.
  23. I think one or the other would have been fine, although they are paying some for reputation and not performance with Maldonado. I think both is overkill. Might as well let Korey Lee be the back up and maybe learn from one of them.
