But he has Bedard, maybe the only thing worth watching on the channel.

Troll account on the managerial opening
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't think Grady did anything wrong per se, but logic would tell you he has about as much chance as any of us at landing that job. He gets it, and it's the same old, same old, and no matter who is manager, have a great chance at over 100 loses next year. -
If you go back to their previous announcements, they said they would be up and running on multiple platforms. Their website would be fully functional well before they were ready to broadcast. They were full of it. But as fans of these teams, we should be used to it.

It's beyond amazing. Then they try the elder abuse thing, yet somehow the man is lucid enough to go to Springfield to ask for a billion plus, and say, hey, this team is worth more elsewhere, I'm just trying to do the state a favor before his son will be forced to sell it to someone who will move them.

JR is 88 and drooling. Sports and Sports Channels are dumb. Lets get sarcastic.
-
Trading your best hitter right before the playoffs start, iwpould be a bit odd.Besides that would be an intradivision trade. The Sox are afraid of those.
-
The calls for him to die, which I do not endorse, will be drowned out because by the time your scenerio occurs, he will be 120 years old.
-
I get that, but it's a pop up. 8 year olds make the play. The Sox may have reached double figures messing it up this year.
-
This is exactly true. He doesn't like guys who aren't yes men. Who don't think he probably is the greatest owner and person on the face of the earth. Any resistance is met with exile. Scottie Pippen, AJ , Larry Himes, benetti....you don't kiss the ring, you're nothing to him.
-
We will see. One change I would like made is what happens when these pop ups keep getting fielded like Little League. Someone needed to get into Andrew Vaughns face yesterday and tell him he needs to catch that ball. It happens every week.
-
They have had people in the organization that have consistently failed for years. The funny thing is, half of their payroll probably even know it. To expect that to suddenly change would be insane. That's why the Dear Sox letter means nothing. He should have either committed to changing his ways, or said he was looking for someone else with a vision to give his control.

The team lost 121 games. There should be a parade to the door at the White Sox offices with ex-employees holding boxes with their belongings.
-
Maybe not, but I believe the chance of ultimate success would be much higher. We've played this same game for so long.
-
I agree with at least 95% of this. I think most of us feel, unless the Sox do things the exact opposite of what they have been doing, it's just going to be the same. This rebuild was a spectacular failure. Since they lost to Houston in the playoffs, they have averaged over 100 losses a season. That wasn't what we were told was going to happen. I also think people don't trust Getz because he was here and a part of that epic failure. Once JR got the guts to tell RH and KW to scram, he needed to totally clean house. But he didn't. This can't waste a year, wasted a year and more people, who should have been let go with KW and RH, are shown the door. And we know at this stage, there is zero chance JR will change, so once they do, or if they do get to a point where they need to add a couple of pieces to get over the top, it will fail again. It's like Charlie Brown and the football.

What are you looking forward to this off season
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
all of the above for me. Just more BS. Next year they will lose 102 games and be crowing with their chests out they improved 19 games. -
I am going to measure how serious they are about getting better using Gavin Sheets as the barometer. He sucks. He'll be 29 next year, his HR rate has gone down 3 straight seasons. He doesn't get on base much, doesn't hit for a lot of power, isn't a plus defensively. If they are still trying to fit him in as a 4 or 5 hitter next season, they are full of s%*#. I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he had his chance. Move on.
-
He basically said the same s%*# last year, and everything got worse.

The statement is worthless. Face the press, and bring in some national guys who aren’t afraid to ask questions. Tell people you and your GM will answer fans questions at Soxfest. The old we owe you but never repaying ….everyone knows people like that.
-
The one thing the Sox didn’t do that all the other teams that had successful gut rebuilds did, was clean house before it began. jR kept the dopes in place that got them into that situation. Now, at least there has been some change, but certainly not enough. That’s why I have come around to the Sox can’t have sustainable success until JR is gone side. I’m hoping he comes out with something where he is selling, yeah right. Or maybe he can give his control to someone else.
-
He has called left field right field and vice versa. Multiple times he has gotten so excited the Sox actually scored a run, he thought they tied or took the lead when they had not. Has screwed up the outs several times, and even called the Padres the Dodgers last week. I don’t hold it against you for liking his broadcast. Everyone has different tastes. I just see a guy trying to sell bullshit. I get, they only gave him bullshit to sell. Still, respect the audience a little bit. I’ve stated, I actually like South side stand up, if used properly. But he used it like a bat flip after a homer to make the score 10-2 with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th.
-
Just wait until he has where left field and right field are located down, figures out where to look for the score and the outs, and has enough experience to determine who the opponent is. OK John Schriffen. We see you. Let’s go! South side, staaaaaand up!
-
I watch but half watch. Announcers either way really have never bothered me. I loved Harry and Hawk. The others the Sox have had were fine. But Schriffen makes my blood boil. And I think it’s the fake rosy outlook he gives everything and his lack of knowledge about the game. He declared the bullpen fixed for 2025. Really? He said just yesterday Benetendis leadership kept the season from becoming unglued. They set a record. Give the listeners more credit. Besides, most know say more about the team than he does. He lives in fantasyland and anyone that gives him the time of day in the clubhouse can do no wrong on the field.

I think Moncada, Eloy,,,they are what they are, vut for some reason I think you put Robert on a good team, he can still be a star.
