  1. It's going to cost a team at least $5.2 million for a month of Clevinger. I doubt he gets claimed.
  2. They can stay if they want. They also can go, get paid by the White Sox, and try to find a new team or take a vacation. These are either release or outright waivers.
  3. I also think it's telling his staff is so bad, almost everyone that gets called up, with a couple of exceptions, look like they just took up playing baseball games a week ago. Clueless.
  4. Read MLBTR, the 4 million is guaranteed if either side backs out. But these waivers are different from the old August trade waivers. If no one claims him, he can still walk and get paid by the White Sox.
  5. Pollock said no and got his buyout. I’m sure this is the same.
  6. They are toast. He’s a free agent. Saving so,e money and potentially a better comp pick is the clear play.
  7. Texas needs bullpen help bad. ReyLo would be a nice pick up.
  8. Doubt it. They would assume the contract and the $4 million buyout.
  9. Terry Bevington arguing a call that went the Sox way was good. His calling for the left hander with no one warming up in the bullpen was great as well.
  10. I agree. Employers have to be careful these days.
  11. I understand their is limitations, but it's an MLB GM job. Only 30 of those in the world. Rosenthal worte after speaking with 5 execs that it's attractive because you won't get fired, are in an awful divison, and really should have more resources available than anyone else in the division. Just about every owner mettles.
  12. Well, he wasn't good at development, maybe this will be more his speed.
  13. The Sox failure IMO, has been their inability to develop their own. I've posted this before, the last Sox second round pick that put up at least a 2.0 WAR for the White Sox was Terry Forster. He was drafted over 50 years ago.
  14. If that is the ultimate conclusion, the White Sox and JR should be significantly fined by MLB. for the security breach, and for not doing anything for the safety of the fans in attendance let alone the players and umpires after the shooting occurred.
  15. I don't think you will have to worry about Clevinger. I have a hard time believing he will OK his side of the mutual option. I'm with you , I hold my nose when he pitches, but to be fair, and realize it really doesn't matter, this team would have lost several more games if they didn't sign him.
  16. One problem now is a lot of safety concerns on the Red Line. That applies to the Cubs too, but the South Side has a worse reputation fair or not. I typically take the Red Line. It always reeks of weed and cigarettes now.
  17. Makes you wonder about the metal detectors they make you walk through. This is going to be a huge PR blow to a team that can't afford one. I think JR and the team are also going to get sued big time.
  18. It happened to Kramer.
  19. You do go to watch a well coached or well managed team.
  20. If a prospect can be ruined in 3 weeks, the White Sox would be the favorites to do it.
  21. Has a minority actually ever have been hired because of these rules? It seems to me, unless they were really eyeballing a minority before they started, 95% of the minority interviews are for show.
  22. Johnny Bench in his prime would have a tough time throwing out Konerko if Kopech is on the mound.
