  1. Maybe they want to play short again. It saves almost 4k per game.
  2. I'll call it a retool if they replace the payroll that comes off the books. Somehow, I doubt that will happen.
  3. I don't mind them trading Cease, but if they are going to make any management changes, re. Hahn, KW, he needs to be on the roster for the new regime to decide what to do with.
  4. these guys think lts close to 20 years ago, and everything works the same. 2005 they won. 2006 they played well but missed the playoffs. 2007 disaster. 2008 snuck into the playoffs. Now. 2021 made the playoffs. 2022 medicore. 2023 is this team's 2007. Now JR and KW and RH think they can get lucky again and next year make the playoffs. When you think about the fine line between winning and losing and go back to 2005, the only year under JR's watch the Sox won a playoff series, if a ball doesn't go through Tony Graffinino's legs, if El Duque pitches like he did the whole season his appearance in Boston, 2005 is all the other years the Sox won the division.
  5. Mongo McMichael just made it to the final 12 for the HOF. If he's ever going to get in, they should do it now. Waiting much longer, he will probably not be around, and that would be BS.
  6. Rick has been GM for 11 seasons. For him, that's a good run. For us, it's a bad run. Fire his ass. Today.
  7. Hahn had the same with Gio that he had with Sale. I wonder if it ever gets old talking to someone about your failures.
  8. I understand those that wanted Gio re-upped, but what you don't understand is that he was a player rep during labor problems, and was a little outspoken. That doesn't fly with JR. He was never going to be extended. What they ot for him , on paper, is fairly decent, which is good, because everyone else they are going to trade soon will be lucky to get you a Ryan Cordell-like return. I'm sure the Sox will f*** up the catcher.
  9. I thought the same thing. Now is the time to improve the organization? What about the last 2 offseasons and deadlines? One way to improve is for him to leave.
  10. "now is the time to continue to improve the future of this organization"-Rick Hahn. Then resign.;
  11. Pedro gave his little speech told us how he was getting the team ready to beat the Cubs, Hey, they have a hit. Fire somebody. Tonight.
  12. They all need to go. It’s not Pedro’s fault they suck, but he’s done nothing to show he is a capable major league manager. The team needs to cut its losses.
  13. I’m not buying that KW is taking the lead here. If he was, he’d be talking to a lot of teams and it would leak IMO. Besides, Hahn has been hiding behind decisions being collective. They all have to go. Trade the free agents to be. Leave the others to someone who may be competent. it just amazes me no one has lost their job yet. It’s beyond crazy.
  14. If I am the Sox GM, Gio is going to go, I don’t think he can improve his attractiveness with a really good start. So I don’t risk disaster. If he isn’t traded by his next start, I would skip him.
  15. He also was unable to do anything significant the winter before or the winter after, yet this guy is still in place. What a joke.
  16. If you are in a situation where you have to keep Chris Getz and all his people to develop players, you are most likely to fail even if you make good international signings and drat decently. Obviously, those jobs are limited, and sometimes you have to take what you can get, but if you are one of the better candidates, wouldn’t you wait for better situation? Maybe JR has had enough of these guys, realizes they ccannot choose the correct players. Realizes any player that is developed seems to have been pretty advanced when acquired, and really lets a new hire clean house. I have no confidence that is the case.
  17. They aren’t going full rebuild. JR will give him or her a mediocre budget and expect to win.
  18. If you can put together an average team you should be a contender. These dopes can’t even do that.
  19. It’s funny, the consensus has shifted from all the bad decisions we’re KW and JR overruling Hahn to now they all are Hahn, and hopefully KW gets more involved. I will say KW was better than Rick, but that’s not saying much. The house needs to be cleaned out.
  20. He was neutered with LaRussa, but he still was able to f*** up a lot more. JR was able to get LaRussa the A’s job. He won’t be able to find Hahn a GM job unless it’s for some youth travel team.
  21. Th other thing I question is even if somehow Hahn and KW left, how attractive would this job be? Would anyone new have to keep Pedro and Getz and all the coaches and non development staff? If so, what kind of quality candidate would be interested?
  22. That’s pretty much how I look at it. If they are still letting him make decisions now, they don’t seem to think he’s part of the problem.
  23. When Hawk was the GM, one thing JR called a mistake, they were 44-57 after 101 games. This team is 3 games worse in the middle of their multiple championship window.
  24. You’re absolutely right. Cheap and will do things their way.
