That is kind of missed in this comparative. Pennix, Daniels and Nix seemed to be in college for ever.

The team has been run by the accountant (Phillips) and ticket manager (George) for the last 15 years. You wonder why they seem to be behind in the times.

Bloom is quickly fading off of the Poles rose. If not for the Carolina trade the Bears are no better off today then they when he took the job. The Alpha coach was a conversation yesterday and will continue to pop up that Warren and Poles are not hiring the correct person due to their insecurities and/or fiscal restraint. Ben Johnson is going to want $12M. Virginia and George are not going for that. The next coaching regime will be the same cast of cheap dolting yes men.

Eberflus has shown a great ability to lose games. I don't see them even competing in most of the remaining games. That offensive line is beyond bad.
-
This is what a team quitting on a coach looks like. They are not winning anothergame and Flus winning percentage could end up lower then Grifol's.
-
What makes you think Warren is all that bright? His relationahip with Harbaugh from BIG days kept him from hiring him as head coach. The Bears are no more a professioanly run organization than the Bulls or White Sox. Flus hired Getsy and Waldron. If not for Carolina trade Poles is exposed as being no organization builder. I feel bad for Williams.

Saw this on X and it makes sense to me. They do not scheme guys open. Their scheme seems abysmal.

Kennan was needed but became redundant when Rome was available in the draft.

Ryan Fuller Hired as Director of Hitting

Why at 34 was he available? -
100% but not sure there is much value there. Not sure win they even get to 7 wins.

Kmet's usage is no surprise. He is deemed the 5th option in the shiney car offense that due to a lack of an O line does nto work. Kmet's usage went up when Allen was out. Now we need to get Allen the ball over Kmet. I think Poles is good at his job but I am not yet certain. The trade with Carolina is awesome but in reality they wanted to see if Fields could progress that year. Other then that what has he really accomplished? His coaching hires seem poor at best and this team could end up 5-12 really quick this year. Totally neglecting the O line is a huge offense and then handing out picks for bad WRs (allen and Claypool). Waldron is awful as was Getsy.

Venable named new Sox Manager-per Merkin

Looking beyond what we know already about the ineptitude of the White Sox and how bad the last three years have been, the thing with this hire...if these are true is that He was the heir apparent to Bochy in Texas Turned down the Mets last off season leaving Cohen out of the conversation, Sterns is guy you want to work for Has worked with Theo - best baseball mind around and would assume a mentor Resume that checks all major boxes His connections and resume lead me to hope there was a plan laid out to him as to why this job is worth taking. Sure it is all pie in the sky s%*# that I look at and hope I can be a fan again but unlike Grifol I don't have to squint really hard to like this hire. Yes there are only 30 of these jobs but I think we can assume he was in a position like Ben Johnson with the Lions in that he can have his pick and he isn't risking it without a plan. Is there a sale? A move? A new Stadium? Why would he take this job? The Bears job will be highly sought after, the White Sox, not so much. Maybe I just want to fan again -
CHSN to be available on antenna in Chicago
Harry Chappas replied to Heads22's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I have Directv stream and get the channel but don't watch it and haven't for a while. Just need to go in and cancel...I think I already did. -
Because he does not believe in analytics and is a meathead that is being pushed by TLR. There is no rationale reason for him to be considered and shows how obtuse the organization is.

At some point I will invest in the antenna but no time soon. The Phil Nevin era doesn't intrigue me, nor the Bulls and the Blackhawk's still stinks. -

Your Crusaders could lose in rounds 1,2, 3 or 5. They could win in all 5 rounds as well. I think if they make it to semifinals they should be a big favorite that game. -

I believe it is Saturday at 1:30 -
They went cheap and stayed on the cheap. Poles and Warren want to be the face of the organization and you can't be that with a legitimate head coach.
-
Can someone explain the need for a spy on that last play. Also Sweat not on the field. Bears stopped playing thst simple.
-
Hiring Phil Nevin is going to be such a White Sox thing. Venable checks every box which means he is to good for this organization and will scare them off. TLR is an awful front office guy. Another guy where sadly we need his health to drive him out of keeping our fandom in the gutter.

LWE may have to travel to Loyola in week 2 of playoffs. Greg in those standings BR should be above Fenwick and Joliet Catholic. MC is 4-1 v top 15 teams and in the 4 wins they were not close. Libertyville and Downers Grove North should both be ranked as should Naperville Central. Way too many smaller catholic schools. Greg Brother Rice is building a new baseball complex and had some nice things renovated when I was last there. Still a lot of work to do but they seem to be making improvements. For about 25 years they did nothing to improve the look. Enrollment is around 700 which for a single gender catholic school is great. I don't mean to sound like a dick but even at that number you would not make the team. I had 2000 kids as well. 150 tried out for baseball. Cliff Petrak told me to not come back for third base or OF tryouts after seeing me try out for first. -

I will say this about them but you would know better being in the program for a few years. They are very young. The seniors they count on are mostly area couple transfers except for the MLB. Without the transfers they are not as good this year but they will be better moving forward. The three losses were against good teams and they know they should have played better. They caught some breaks on schedule and other teams injuries.
