  1. Am I reading this correctly that this happened when the kid was 15 or16? (19 currently, happened NYE 2017 thus he was 15 at the time?????
  2. As stated a page or so back I am the biggest fair weather Bulls fan alive and I gotta tell ya they are fun to watch. As a a fair weather fan I only watched the first half before retiring for the evening. That being said, I can't help but continue to hate the idea of the super team/ good old boys NBA club mentality. I knew AD and Lebron were together and then.....there was Westbrook, Melo and Howard. I know Melo and Howard are shells of their former selves but it is obnoxious and irritates me.
  3. Yep three times in one calendar year. If they win Saturday may play Rita for championship. Place went nuts when they won.
  4. Something that has not been discussed on this board that everyone needs to take into account as it became glaring in the post season was how beat down starting pitching was because of the short 2020 season. This may have played a role in Kimbrel's tapering off who knows. The White Sox tried to mitigate this but were unsuccessful.
  5. Why did he fall to the second round? Serious question as I only watch the Bulls and Illini when they are good. I watched the Illini last year and beginning to watch the Bulls this year.
  6. Going to be a looooooooooong off season. Unless the Sox spend $500M signing free agents it will be a failure. They need a 2B, organizational depth, a couple bullpen arms and maybe a starter. People cannot grasp that young players get better and as such the White Sox offense should inherently be better simply by being more seasoned. I just watched post season baseball and the White Sox as currently constructed are not behind of those teams....maybe the Dodgers but the Dodgers rotation is a mess.
  7. The only way it makes sense is if there is a market for Kimbrel. I can't see there being one and if there is not then it is an indefensibly stupid move. If they think he can have value to the White Sox in 2021 or there is a different plan for the bullpen then maybe it make sense. To go into the offseason with the idea of tradign him without have an gauge on his market is the height of stupidity and Hahn is not an idiot. A team trades for him because they are guaranteed to get him. In the open market you never know what can happen.
  8. If this is in Chicago, Ulta considers it the price of doing business. In an attempt by the city to have these stores in lower income areas the city makes them put stores in certain areas in order to allow them into other areas. If Best Buy wants to open in Lincoln Park, they have to open a store in Englewood. That was the policy 10 years ago, I am not certain if it still is.
  9. If/when the Bears fire Pace and Nagy they will hire two people that sound great but neither will have experience what so ever of doing their job then when they fail everyone will sit back and wonder why. Until there is an experienced football executive in the building nothing will change.
  10. Bowman is getting into the Gar/Pax area of how he keeps his job. Colliton is a Bears hire level disaster.
  11. MLB being antiquated. I also believe any review, in any sport should be given 60 seconds if you are not certain in 60 seconds move on.
  12. I said this back on page four and was told I do not know how baseball works. I still stand by the idea that the framework was in place at the deadline and conversations were held.
  13. When pitchers can't throw breaking pitches because the catcher cannot handle them it becomes an issue.
  14. This is a big deal because it happened to the Boston Red Sox that is all.
  15. Wanna get rid of sign stealing use technology and ear pieces to communicate like the NFL does. Seems rather simple.
  16. I received a full refund for unplayed games last Friday. My season tickets are paid monthly so I did not want to carry over so the credits were applied to my card without issue.
  17. Yes with this quote, fuck home runs when the BABIP for the team was through the roof. He is similar to the Don Cooper theory of sacrificing speed for location and movement...although maybe Cooper was right.
  18. I always liked Hendricks as a two inning guy similar to what I think they hoped Kopech would be. Imagine him coming in instead of Crochet in game 2.
  19. 1 is fluke 2 is a concern 3 is Jim McMahon territory Robert and Eloy are in category 2 and Nick is in category 3. How do you dislocate your shoulder sliding feet first?
  20. Because GM's talk especially at the trade deadline. It seems the cubs were looking to take care of the traded players and get them to places they wanted to be. Kimbrel wanted to stay in Chicago and that was taken care of by moving him to the Sox. The Sox paid a steep price as well for this. The Sox will look really foolish if they picked up the option and had nowhere to move him to unless they are comfortable keeping him which seems foolish but maybe they really like him. Hahn better have a plan for moving him if that is the intent as $16M is a large nut for an 8th inning guy.
  21. So you think the White Sox are picking up the $16M option with the hope of trading him for something of value or keeping him next year. Both are very possible but if the goal is to trade him I hope the foundation of a trade is in place as if not then he is in the Sox pen next year.
  22. There has to be a deal that was in place at the deadline that the Sox had a team obtaining Kimbrel this offseason. A three way trade with the Sox hanging on to Kimbrel for this season and him being moved in the offseason to make it easier on his family. I could be 100% wrong but that makes the most sense in all of this for this trade to make some sense.
