  1. No can never have too much pitching. That being said they had 2 outfielders in the organization. After these trades they may have 4.
  2. There is no such thing as a healthy Lavine similar to a healthy Ball. They are going to get fleeced trying to move him. The front office will resign DeMar and run it all back again. They have no choice. The signed Vooch and nobody is taking the Lavine contract so they will draft some player that stinks and blame injuries. They almost got me back into caring prior to the Ball injury. Only difference with this front office and Gar/Par is this front office invested in a legitimate coach. As far as building a roster, Gar/Pax may have been better. I say this in that most of my Bulls knowledge comes from this website.
  3. 1M + reasons why that is more valuable then the player taken with the pick
  4. My point has nothing to do with Bellinger's results it had to do with the idea of Bellinger's results to ticket purchasers. Look at the bulls currently they are content selling a team that was good 2 years ago. The moves three years ago were to fill seats with the idea of winning. They have the salary space for Chapman and Bellinger and are electing to not do it and I am thinking the stadium was and has been the issue for the last two off seasons.
  5. Did the Caleb, Washington thing come up before or after Ben Johnson electing to not go there? Thinking the Washington situation is better than the Bears is vastly different when you have no clue who the QB is playing for on that side of the ball. Sounds like Waldron has no chance of being a HC so it is safe that performance here will result in stability.
  6. I don't think anybody is signing that but dumber things have happened
  7. Stay where they are at. I think 40 years later JR realizes that owning the stadium adds to the team value at a greater % then not. Also 40 years ago he needed to find a home for two teams. If the UC is proving to be a positive investment, he will invest in the South Loop site to own it. Could the ISFA sell him the Cell...maybe, who knows. He sees what Wrigley adds to that franchise and in his waning days sees value in this investment now. The south Loop has blossomed similar to the Lakeview area more so than Bridgeport and Bronzeville so the opportunity there differs. I believe this deal has been in the works for a while and was why he agreed to the rebuild. The window should be open now, This announcement comes out with winning and the Sox are the talk of sports. He hands out some big deals that are covered by the the stadium and off he goes. This failed miserably in every way and is probably why KW and Hahn are gone. KW may have also stepped it in this deal as well..as potentially Hahn as well. It could also explain to me why there are no long term hampering deals on the books. The Balance Sheet is clean and he likes it that way. I think this with Harper and Machado. There is no reason why they do not sign Chapman and move Moncada to 2B in his final prove it season and Bellinger for RF. I understand the long term deal resistance from JR and I could be the fool but this makes some sense as to the management of the team recently. The went from the carrot mentality to driving it into the ground. The carrot mentality pays the Chapman and Bellinger's of the world.
  8. It makes the team easier to watch which is what I kind of like in my team. I had no issue with looking to trade him and getting over slot value for him but to be pissed they didn't make a trade makes no sense to me. Enjoy he is here, if in fact he is here.
  9. Wasn't there chatter about a 3 way deal for Cease? The Brewers make a lot of sense now.
  10. The White Sox owe nothing to the city and Bridgeport. The development of the area is up to them not the White Sox. You point out blocks of asphalt but that is a draw there, the parking. Yes it's over priced but there are plenty of options. That to me is the main drawback from the south loop site. Adding bars and restaurants in that area doesn't work as you get in your car and leave that site. Other then the big 10-15 games a year you're not getting the crowd. Wrigley works because of the neighborhood. The south loop could as well and extend and draw from UIC, PIlsen, etc. This was what the new ball park was to do. Move the city improvement seen on the northside from the mid 90s on to the south. The loop needs a renaissance and that needs to come from well thought out individuals not what is currently running the city. The Bears could easily move to Bridgeport. Plenty of land and easy to get to.
  11. The issue with the current 35th Metra train stop is that there is nothing close by the stop. This new area is a whole development so that if you are waiting for a train there are options. Also the games ending earlier will help the schedule. The 35th st stop is not as convenient for night games as you'd think. Metra will play ball if there are riders. There are a lot of random surface lots in that area but the congestion will be nuts.
  12. I don't think it is big enough for an 80K+ seat dome.
  13. You know what kids like more then baseball. Trains.
  14. I went to every one since '03. He could be seen around but was not a focus of the event. In later years the event sucked as you had to spend a fortune to get in on Friday and the Palmer House was a horrible venue. There were some really cool aspects to it. I would go to have a few beers and look forward to spring. I gave my tickets away to this event.
  15. Because he is then not the broadcaster, he is a weekday fill in. I think the truth is in the middle someone with this. Stone has paid his dues and is in his waning years. When Benetti was hired I'm sure they were not looking to find a replacement almost every weekend so early into his tenure. Is there a number of actual games he worked last year? If they really liked McKnight, I think they would have tolerated paying Benetti less and work McKnight it more but I think Benetti balked at being paid less.
  16. The team's performance isn't really what drives Soxfest. It is more of a nostalgic event for older fans to connect and younger fans to meet players.. You bring in guys like Thomas, Konerko, Kittle, Fisk, Durham etc. and roll out the manager, GM and some new guys and you have something. This is where Anderson and Giolito would have been ideal the past few years. Reinsdorf would not be there in any case even if they won. I don't think he ever had a role in anything there. Williams and Hahn were focal points and maybe Getz will be that.
  17. I met him at a White Sox ticket sponsor thing in 2018. Has there been another falling out?
  18. Oh and F Moncada and Big Baby. I want to hear nothing from either. These stupid articles are as insufferable as ever. Both must be at the stupid season ticket fan thing.
  19. We will keep Cease. Everyone will stay healthy, play above their potential and we will win 75 games....we also won't trade anyone because we will be within 6 games of first. I am not pleased to think this way.
  20. That's awesome congrats. I wasn't aware that was your role out there. Ignorance led me to believe that at one time you were in the rodeo.
  21. Not to sound like a jerk, but what sports are there in Idaho and how does one make their Hall of Fame, Congrats on the accomplishment.
  22. After the dust settled on this, sadly I think I am going to carry water. I want a PBP guy to be in booth more then Benetti was. Jason's back story was awesome and he was good at his job but at the same time he seemed to only be there more and more on a part time basis. I think the Sox wanted more and Jason wanted less. I like this guy. Hope he is here a long time. I thought Benetti would as well but I think he has Joe Buck aspirations and the Sox were done being a part of it. I still think the Sox are in a bad place as an organization and Brooks Boyer is a fool but I can squint and see their point. the Sox suck so really, why bust Jason's balls.
