QUOTE (fathom @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) Morel doesn't have enough opposite field power to consistently hit the ball over the right fielder's head. I like his swing more when he tries to pull the ball. Walker will get him doing that soon enough -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2011 -> 09:05 PM) Thome was always 150 poitns of ops worse against lhp. Even in Cleveland. Maybe so but when he was on the Sox any leftie would get him out rather easily and then I recall the Thorton at-bat last year. I am sure Dunn's career average against lefties is higher than .000 and it is a small sample size but it seems like an odd coincidence -

I will continue to say that there is something in the way Walker works with LHH as they are incapable of hitting any type of LHP. Thome and now Dunn are easy examples. Hopefully Walk can get to work on the three practice swing Rios and getting him hitting....... The Sox at home swing from the heels and thus hit high fastballs and hangers in the air on the infield. -

Beat Cleveland every time you play them and you will pass them as the Sox are a better team. That's all. -
Good game. Don't stop now boys.

QUOTE (BearSox @ May 19, 2011 -> 08:58 PM) Why isn't Juan standing on 3rd? He should be not sure what he was doing wow Dunn that was a terrible at-bat -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 19, 2011 -> 12:12 PM) Link Why will he hit better here? That makes no sense to me at all actually that sounds assinine. -
Couple of things. That was my 5th game of the year and the only tiime the game time temperature was over 44 degrees. Not a fan of Humber being bumped but I understand. The six man rotation helped Danks get into the 7th and Peavy looked really good obviously. This could be interesting. the f***ign stealing is going to kill me. Lillibridge is going to have a real nice career as a utility player. Beckham and Quentin looked absolutly lost.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 18, 2011 -> 03:20 PM) The crowd will be terrible with the Bulls playing and the weather. I'll be there pissing and moaning the whole time. In Club Level so I can watch the Sox bat and the Bulls in nice weather. -
How important is this 2 game series with CLE
Harry Chappas replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The opponenets are not the issue here. Everyone has to agree that losing 3 of 4 which would be the case is not acceptable for this team. This team has put themselves in a position where every game matters. If the goal is to get ot .500 losing the next two do not help you to do this. Winning series is fine but they need win essentially all of them the rest of the year to get to 95 wins. Another way to look at it is for them to beat the crap out of their division and play .500 ball the rest of hte way. The East and West are better than the Central so whip the s*** out of the Central and the pathetic NL schdule and go from there. Every game counts and any loss puts you on the ledge the next night. A loss last night was losing 3 of 4. -
oddly McPherson won the game. Maybe he is the LH bat off the bench that they need
-
Maybe the time off is what he needed to clear his head a little. Kudos to Ozzeroo...........maybe

Santos makes me all warm inside. oh but this team still sucks

Nice job going with McPherson and Crain for 1 plus innings. Good win to but it really should be easier. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 17, 2011 -> 08:40 PM) Morel is so getting benched for that. sadly I was just thinking Beckham should be sent down but Morel is playing worse.......now maybe Lilli plays second and Beckham becomes the utility guy and it wakes him up -

The intentional walk worked but it was a bad decision with a pitcher that has nothing on the mound -

QUOTE (fathom @ May 17, 2011 -> 08:20 PM) Dunn chases ball 4, that's after Alexei swung at a face high pitch. I hope we get shut out if it means Walker's one step closer to being canned. He is not going anywhere. Nothing has happened yet. This season is basically over as they are way too inconsistent and the Tigers are looking strong. We can pretend that the talent will come around but it just is not there. Rios, Quentin, Beckham, etc The talent is thought to be there but I gotta admit it really is not. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 17, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) Why does this board overrate Danks so much? I just don't see it. Is it because he's a lefty? He is a solid pitcher that has never gotten any better they being solid. As he has gained experience he has not progressed. jezzuz this team sucks
