  1. can he hit? The rotation gets no better than it has been with him coming back. Hopefully Tony Pena is left somewhere never to be heard from again.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) There is actually a pretty sizable debate (which I don't agree with, well more like, don't care about) that it could have been illegal. It sure as well may have been. My issue is that the right is now trying to say it was the wrong thing to do which I find ludicrous.
  3. I was listening to Michael Savage yesterday for the good points that he does make, he really comes off moronic when he got into the manner in which we killed him as being wrong.
  4. Miss Weaver, Haren and Anderson. They will be 15 games under and 16 games out when they return home and will then have the road trip schedule to b**** about. The bad play began at home.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:44 PM) Its not just out major league roster, he's responsible for the entire organization including the minor leagues and scouting. We have no identity, no "White Sox Way" being taught up and down our system. We have players coming up to the majors with poor fundamentals. Williams should have stepped aside for Hahn last year and should do so right now. That is a no brainer the replacement is in place. I do not want Cooper as manager as this team still has a shot if they wake the f*** up and the only way that is happening is through pitching. Send down Morel and give Lilli shot somewhere to lead off.
  6. Well at least Santos can be groomed as closer with no real pressue on him this season
  7. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) the way this season is going this game will end up coming down to juan pierre called it last night on liriano having a great game and again today with pierre having the game on his bat
  8. going back to earlier in this thread, carlos pena just homered
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) Lilly and Omar are up in the bottom of the ninth? Now those are 2 scary hitters. AJ is the least likely option of the potential three hitters coming up to do anything. the way this season is going this game will end up coming down to juan pierre
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:16 PM) Or Quentin, just like in 2009, had a good home run stretch during April and started having bad mechanics as he started dropping his back shoulder more and popped up a lot to right. which is a common thing with the white sox at that park that is never corrected.
  11. the ole infield pop up Quentin has turned into joe Crede
  12. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 4, 2011 -> 03:09 PM) Setting up for the inninf ending DP i see... I call soft fly to right followed by a grounder to short
  13. guillen does nothing strategically to win a game. Beckham really should have hit for Omar as at least maybe, just maybe Beckham could run into one.
  14. A manager's job is to put players in a position to succeed. Guillen does not do this. Wheather it is the one pitch closer, the repetitive bunting by guys that can not bunt or the stealing ad nuseum. They never call for a pitch out, hit and run or make personnel changes. He never makes a move to win a game via personnel or strategically.
  15. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 4, 2011 -> 02:39 PM) 2-2-0-0-2-2-2 That's the number of runs given up in the 6th in each of Danks' starts. Not sure how many are earned, but that's not Javy-bad. What are the first five innigns of those starts? The guys is a good pitcher he just can not go more than 6 innings on a consistent basis. His career averge innigns per start is 6.06 I get the feeling the last 13 will be retired in a row for Perkins, Nathan and Capps...maybe a ball or two will leavethe infield. No worries the BABIP has to get better.
  16. Hey come Ramirez worked the count there and saw 11 pitches.
  17. you can send this one to Copperstown another intentional walk that does nothing but give up another run anyone think a legitimate bench coach may help this team
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 4, 2011 -> 02:25 PM) This is truly the worst managed team I've seen in baseball in a long time. Terrible fundamentals and strategy all around. This has to be Ozzie's last game. he really should have the balls to resign after watching this His team is not ready to play the game that is obvious yet they are doing nothign to address it.
  19. Instead of trying to steal out of a slump why not just put Lillibridge and Teahen out there and see what happens...because Juan Pierre is the ideal baseball player for Ozzie Guillen and.....well I am not sure why Morel is still up.
  20. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ May 4, 2011 -> 02:15 PM) 2011 Sox BABIP is insanely low. That is because they swing at s*** pitches that are not hit hard. BABIP to me is a stupid stat as good hitters will have a high average becasue they are good hitters and hit the ball hard consistently and do not pop out on the inifeld or hit the chopper two hopper. A good hitter fouls off tough pitches and looks for a pitch to drive. bad hitters swing at the first strike they see and weakly hit it in play for a neasy out. This is what I call giving away at-bats. The Sox do that far more than the opposition under Greg Walker and Ozzie Guillen.
  21. Saw on ESPN that Liraino had the second highest ERA of all time for a pitcher to throw a no-hitter (minuimum 3 starts) and the only one in teh top six since 1953. That will do wonders for the ole BABIP when you only strike twice as well.
  22. Danks at 40 pitches through two innings. Hopefully he can give us his careeer average of six innings per start today.
  23. Should be over by 3:30 I hope I don't stuck in the game day traffic........oh wait, 5,000 folks do make a traffic jam on the Dan Ryan. I really do not even care any more as sad as that is. This team does not seem to care so neither do I.
  24. QUOTE (Cali @ May 3, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) If nothing happens tonight or Thursday it's a slap to all of our faces. exactly
