  1. Barfield couldn't even recognize the better talent in a system he oversaw. He should be the first to go.
  2. I went opening day to keep the streak alive from 1988. I am not certain I even care about the White Sox any longer. I have decreased my season tickets from 162 in the early 2000s down to 10 game plans recently and have nothing this year and not certain I care to even step foot in the stadium next year. What is sad is this was something that was really a part of my life. I loved the White Sox now I am not certain I even like them. I no longer care even if they were a .500 team. To be the worst team in the history of baseball in what should be your window after the rebuild has broken me as a fan. I have two sons in their 20s and they were fans but they seem to no longer care. Chasing the carrot that JR used to put out there worked. Whatever this is now has broken me and most folks I know. I was your typical southside born, raised and reside blue collar Sox fan as was my whole circle.
  3. Sox will win 2 out of 3 this weekend and put the cubs squarely back in the playoff race
  4. Well now that the Royals are good again he can just hit them up for a couple people. Making these moves are great if they go to people that are competent within competent organizations. The fact Barfield failed on the Fletcher trade give me the impression Getz isn't very good at hiring the right people. Bannister is the only glimmer of hope but at the bullpen gives me pause on that currently. Schumaker is the next manager.
  5. The issue last year was sketchy and I think it was a little biased against him because of the COVID antics. Resigning him was idiotic but along the lines of how bad Getz is at his job. Then there are the ties to some partial owner. He will never pitch again. He was very irritating to watch pitch which fits in line with all of the other s%*# he did to make him so incredibly unlikable.
  6. For their game v MC, Mother McAuley has their big volleyball national tournament so parking will be crazy. I don't know the specifics of BR but they should beat Phillips. They should compete with Marist and Rita. BR has close to or more boys then Marist so enrollment doesn't matter. MC and Loyola are on another plane. BR can go anywhere from 8-1 to 5-4
  7. So they have yet to win a game when trailing after 6 innings (0-76) and then blew 25 games in which they were winning after 6 innings. Pretty much sums it up.
  8. Are you saying that you think he is not a complete failure as an employee of the Chicago White Sox? How log of a rope does he get for hiring Bannister? That is the only thing he has done right.
  9. Funny you should say that. The parking lot is only decreased during construction. Now let's talk about the visiting bleachers. As a BR person once told me, there is a lot of work to be done and accommodating the visitors for 3 to 6 football games a year is not one of them.
  10. I think we do play them more than others just not as much as in the past.
  11. The NFL allowed a team to leave Houston for Nashville. NBA moved a team from Charlotte and then added an expansion franchise, they did the same thing with New Orleans. NFL did the same in Cleveland. Look at the NFL in southern California and that musical chairs or how the NFL treated St Louis. MLB is not doing anything to Reinsdorf. If he wants to move they will let him and maybe if the owners are greedy enough they will add two expansion teams and Chicago may be one of them. Only real option as fans is sadly, the death of the owner which we all witnessed with the Blackhawks can improve their situation. From a business standpoint Reinsdorf is not selling while he is still alive and nobody can blame him for that.
  12. We lost the year moreso than any team in the history of professional baseball. If Reinsdorf is still of sound mind and body Getz would be gone but we all know he will not.
  13. They are both really bad at everything. I am openly rooting against Vargas and Fletcher at this point in hopes of a house cleaning yet again as a result.
  14. No it wasn't. It was needed but did nothing to improve the organization and actually, remarkably enough made it worse. Getz is as bad at his job as Pedro was, if not worse. Outside of Bannister any average fantasy baseball player could have made the moves he made. Not sure it's possible he could redo his work any more poorly than he already has.
  15. Jerry doesn't own or control the building that is the ISFA. They will pay the $50K and have probably done so already. Maybe the teacher friends had a falling out.
  16. For those keeping score at home Lip Man is a BR alum as well.
  17. Same needs to happen for Colas unless he is just going to be gone one day.
  18. I detest the SCORE but I will say their scheduling of content blows away ESPN. Listening to the hosts on ESPN drone one with callers is worthless. Maybe it is the windows in which I listen but when the SCORE has any guest on it usually a good listen.
  19. As far as Proft goes. NO part of the city is safe. I don't know the solution to that but there are parts that are a literal war zone. i live in the safest part and 18 shots were exchanged at 6:45 in the morning earlier this summer, Speigs and Parkins are a good listen. I disliked their coverage of Clevenger but other than that I appreciate them. Bernstein takes the job too seriously and Rahimi sp? is trending that way. Her and Holmes would be a great show. With social media there is a lot of credible folks with credability issues. Too much smoke around Brooks on this issue for it to not be an issue. Schiffren is really bad at his job.
  20. Yes that was when that station lost all credibility.
