The leftie v leftie match up didn't work to well this inning..going to blow through the bullpen just to lose 9-1.
-
When does a "nagging injury" probably hip land Robert on IL. He's been terrible on this trip.
-
Has that stupid move ever worked?
-
The pitching is not going to overcome the inability of the offense to score. They will score 6 or 7 runs in a game maybe once a week. If one pitcher is off on a given day like Kelly yesterday they lose. Take the 10 game streak out and they are still below. 500. They lost the division in April.
-
Losing 10 in a row cost them that luxury. In any case. This offense has zero consistency and will continue to kill any chance of a prolonged streak.

Why are Grandal and Frazier not in the lineup?

The starting pitcher has taken the tension off of the bullpen and as such the bullpen is what it should be. Still need to see better production out of the lineup. When 4 or 6 runs is " a lot", you are not going well. Still I'll take 7 of 9 against teams they normally lose to. My Sweet Lord the Guardians offense is bad.

Minnesota is cool in that the sprawl is good and within an hour you can be at one with nature. This is an odd game in that the White Sox haven't really gotten anything going but still have 6 runs. I was on team bullpen for Kopech and he is looking really good. Was good to see him come back with normal rest and pitch well.

Past time to get Anderson out of the top of the order
Harry Chappas replied to CentralChamps21's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Starting to think he and Abreu may not have been what we and the media portrayed them to be. I certainly as s%*# know he isn't the top player on the field if Jose Ramirez is playing or next week when Trout and Ohtani are out but maybe his talking about the White Sox, in which he may could arguably between 1 and 5. Confidence is great unless it is linked with stupidity. There is not a single person in that organization that should be feeling really good about themselves right now. NOT ONE! -
I do not know what to make of this. Why not DH Grandal? Berger just went 0-5 with 5 K's and Quantrill is not going to throw him a strike.

2023: MLB news not AL Central-related

Do they have a GM? -
Well, the morning 15 minutes of radio is now Stern reruns. ESPN 1000 is unlistenable. They have tried to become some sort of......I am not certain what it is. Kap and Jason are professionals but they do not work well together and the segment producers are awful. They should have a good program and maybe outside of my 15 minute window they do. That station though cannot seem to get proper personalities lined up. That is why the Score continues to kick their ass. The Score, at least in the morning are amazing cub apologists and now seem to not want to talk about the Sox until they are back to .500 yet will debate this morning how awesome the cubs are at reclamating bullpen arms. Again I only listen to 15 minutes in the morning and the afternoon. Spiegal and Parkins are good. I wasn't a fan of how they allowed the Clevenger situation to unfold with the accuser not pushing back at all but now they have a thing with Dan Proft/Riordan and showed that they are looking to be some sort of edgy program.

And That's A Romy Gonzalez White Sox Winner!!!

That's the thing. As a long time fan you cannot look at he standings and address it as they are not good so I will not appreciate a pennant chase. Go back in the history of baseball and in the pre-70s days it was the Yankees, every year. Then more recently it was Oakland in teh early 90's and then the Indians. My frustration is the Kenny Williams regime has failed to build upon a weak ass division. The A's and Indians ofthe 90s were beasts now it's all average and for the alst 20 yeas the White Sox should have averaged 90+ wins. I will still take meaningful games and these are becoming such. -

That was a nice win. Burger and Anderson need to be better. -
He looked at the same pitch for Ball 1 then swung at it for strike two. Just a terrible fundamental player.
-
They did this years ago.
-
They may not score this whole series.
-
He is much more athletic then Vaughn and Sheets. Had we all not have to continually be put through 1B in the OF he makes some sense.

Kelly is as filthy as can be. Nice run in last 5. Playing really good ball. Starts and ends with starting pitcher. Amazing what happens when Diekman and Ruiz were fired into the sun. -
5/20 Royals @ Whitesox 1:10 start. Giolito VS Lyles
Harry Chappas replied to JoshPR's topic in 2023 Season in Review
I like him but the White Sox treat him like a player he is not. A real organization moves him to 2B and spends on Swanson. He is not a leadoff hitter either. If he is playing hurt I can appreciate that but don't bat him leadoff. -

If he is hurt why is he trying to steal bases. Move him and Vaughn in the lineup. I am thinking he and Abreu were more of a problem then being the leaders we thought. -

Burger may be the better long-term option over Eloy and Vaughn. He was a high draft pick.
