Looks like KW found his other $0.50

Sign Derek Lee. He has injury issues but he could give the Sox a hometown discount and he and Dunn could platoon at first. This would ease the pain from the passing of Paul Konerko as I like Derek Lee a whole bunch.
-
Right now the White Sox bullpen consists of Santos, Sale and Thorton.

That SOA ending certainly was something. I was going to grab season one of Mad Men for 12.00 at Best Buy but did not, I regret it. I did get Season 1 of SOA.

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 03:50 PM) Oh, I agree. I haven't heard Hudson is a bad guy...rather, he's just very vocal. I think a lot of it depends on what happens to Konerko and AJP, and the impact that has on our clubhouse. Wasn't he with Guillen and Pierre down in Florida?

I have always liked the SEC as I like Georgia, South Carolina and Auburn and detest Florida and Alabama. Not sure why That was really good game to be an Auburn fan..mixed with the Blackhawks, good afternoon. -
I like Morel at third. If you are going to trade Floyd you better get something a little better than Mark Teahen.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 25, 2010 -> 10:14 AM) The one thing about the Bulls is they are going to have to start getting something from the second string. Guys are playing a ton of minutes right now. I'd be really afraid especially of Rose wearing down as the season goes on. At least with Boozer, you know help is coming for the front line. There isn't that in the backcourt. Hell Rose played just about 100 minutes the last two games of a back to back. Rose and Noah are both young enought to handle it in short spurts. They were freasher than the Suns in both OT's and they played a tough game the night before. I hate the NBA but the Bulls are easier to watch then the Hawks right now and my hated of Loual Deng has been surpassed by Patrick Kane. I think I would take Rose and Noah over Bosh and Wade they are younger and I think together they are better....oh LeBron you f***ed yourself...awesome

QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 23, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) I'm 100% sure the trade went down Wednesday afternoon around 2PM, with Gio's name coming out an hour or so later. Yep I was at a party that night and that was when the godlike misconception of Rowand began. There was that group and the folks that thought Gio should not have been included. -
White Sox offer arbitration to Konerko, Putz.

I followed to this board after the MLB Sox Board went insane. The Koch trade being the one that was known well before it happened on Sox message boards. Also the KW personal life stuff and his almost "resigning" . My sig used to be HSC's Biggest Fan because of all of the inside information that went on around here, sans the guy that had the knowledge of Frank Thomas contract that only he, Frank and JR knew. This board was built on inside information that was spot on that is no longer here. Can I please get on a PM thing as it looks cool when I e-mail people this stuff and it comes true. Also I may need a new screen name shortly.....I will cry a little bit when that happens. The Sox need AJ as there are no leaders on this team although it would be good to see how OZ handles it when he as complete control. -

QUOTE (NIUSox @ Nov 21, 2010 -> 04:48 PM) Excited that NIU clinched the MAC West yesterday and will be playing in MAC championship game. Also they are #26 in the AP and Coaches polls! I would love to see an NIU v. Northwestern or U of I game -
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 20, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) I saw what Fathom was seeing. I thought it was just like the Spurs game... The Mavs went on a 24-4 run, I believe. I don't remember the actual numbers of the Spurs run, but I'd say that's as good of a run as the Spurs made on us. I know people like to call out fathom for being negative (and he usually is, haha), but in this case I think he's right. or the home team turned up the intensity at home to get back into the game and on the 2nd night of a road back-to-back, the Bulls could not match the intensity and the other the Bulls weathered the storm. The Bulls are more enoyable to watch than the Hawks right now and I hate the NBA.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Nov 19, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) Larry Rothschild is taking his talents to NYC*. Mark Gonzales and Cowley have both referred to him as a rat in some tweets. What is that about? *Yankees The guy gets more out of pitchers than anyone...Ryan Dempster owes him millions. This is a real bad move by the cubs

Maybe now we can stop treating Wrigley Field like an entertainment mecca. It is a terrible venue that is barely able to host baseball games. -
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 01:08 PM) Puke. The rest I'm sure will happen and be fine with, although I like Jimmy O's character. Maybe there will be a women's version of OZ with Gemma as the lead.

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 17, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) I think St. Louis laughs in our face if we offer that because of years remaining and salary, which is why I always defend keeping Mark to the point of exhaustion. I doubt we'd get much of a return beyond salary relief (like maybe another team's equivalent of a Morel + Leesman + Infante package) so if we did it it would have to be part of something huge that would not only soften the blow of losing Mark, but also convince the fans that we had made a considerable improvement to the team in the process. It couldn't be some "let's deal Mark and spend the money on an old lefty DH and a reliever" plan. St. Louis needs to do something to make Albert sign long term.

If LeBron is on the list with Gaga how is Drew Brees not on it. Was there a bigger story as it relates to NO, the hurricane and football? I thought it was overblown but I would say he would be a tollerable choice compared to some of them. I hope the Chilean miners get it.

35th anniversary of the Edmund Fitzgerald wreck
Harry Chappas replied to southsider2k5's topic in SLaM
I saw a special on it and I too thought it was in the earlier part of the century. I also thought it happened in January when the weather is really bad. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 10, 2010 -> 09:33 AM) I liked a few of the lines in this episode. "What a little slut!" "Yes he is." "I almost shagged my brother!" Great episode although the Alvarez storyline is pretty lame thus far but who knows the Ireland stuff has gotten pretty good.

Bruce Levine should be on the cubs payroll for all of the pr bs he spews. The cub will tell us that Casey Coleman and Cashner will get it done when in reality Marmol and Castro would be the starting point.
-
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 4, 2010 -> 04:40 PM) I think we agree on all of that (as I already said most of it ), except the part about Jax not losing it with the priest. I don't care how distraught he or anybody is, you wouldn't touch an IRA underboss in his hideout in his home country. I agree that it is a good show but the Gemma and Tara thing are tired storylines....the boss thing interests me. Still a good show but I think it is only good for another season.
-
The SCORE was talking about the cub needing to trim another $10M before next year. The Dunn and Cliff Lee talks are nonsense. Going to be a long couple of years up there.
-
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) Is anyone else getting a little lost with the SOA storyline? I know they've explained who's doing what and why but I'm still not sure I get it. It seems like everyone is trying to kill/double-cross everyone else. Here is what I think; The Irish are trying to move Jimmy out but he has enough Irish support that it will not be that easy. SAMCRO is brought in to do the job using Abel as the pawn. Charming SAMCRO wants Jimmy dead but the the Belfast SMACRO work with Jimmy thus the issue and why the groups are divided. Gemma's first husband and Clay's predessecor had a thing with the bird from the IRA thus there is a bond between Jax and the IRA in that but Gemma wants no part of any of this crap but she needs to play along. The Belfast / Jimmy connection is really only two guys whose names escape me but the long term cool thing and a possible extension fo the show could be Chibs hanging in with Belfast andthe IRA. The Hale thing is gettting good back in old Charming. Hopefully SAMCRO starts kicking some ass again.

They will pick up that Grant fellow and cut him two weeks later but yet will not a take a flyer here?????? Fools, all of them. -
He is facing guys that have for the most part just played a whole season and he would probably be a little over matched if he played the whole year as well.
