QUOTE (Real @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 08:16 AM) Hudson could've probably landed an Oswalt, Haren-type.. Jackson is a bottom of the barrel type, especially with that contract Happ is better than Hudson, there were three other prospects, more cash and a no trade clause.
-
Daniel Hudson might become Edwin Jackson. You know who Hudson reminds me of....that Pauley fellow that pitched for the M's last night. As shaky as Jackson has been this year he still has a track record as a proven #4 guy which is what the Sox need who can if his stuff is right throw a no hitter, however unimpressive that no hitter may be. The Twins mortgaged a lot more on Matt Capps. You also have the Coop thing and the fact that Jackson is under contract you could see a Danks for Fielder move in the off season if Danks is hell bent on free agency.

Can't we all agree that Castro should be seeing more playing time? Is he not part of the chemistry with the b****in beard and all? Also the surge as I like ot call it, began about the time of his arrival no? Ramon sorry for thinking Donny Lucy was better than you. Carry on, Jenks Heat

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 12:43 PM) Sept 2 2006 was the last time Jenks pitched a perfect save inning with 3 'K. Sergio Santos recorded his sixth consecutive scoreless appearance, Matt Thornton made his 17th consecutive scoreless appearance and J.J. Putz extended his White Sox record to 27 scoreless appearances. That is sick

Or maybe he told Cooper to get lost I am throwing hard. Jason he appeared to be throwing more a of a slider and not the big curve but I could be wrong. he had something nice that was moving at around 92 Whatever the case if that Bobby shows up nightly and Putz has his stuff......ouch I would still like to know his day/night splits

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 06:22 AM) Teahen Burns Kotsay's Bats I hope this guy plays better than he did before getting hurt. Sounds like a great clubhouse guy. This was on CTL the other day. Kotsay had no clue they were doing it. Pretty classic.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 29, 2010 -> 07:52 AM) With Lilly being such a hot commodity right now, you have to believe the Cubs have been offered significantly better packages than that. If this deal comes off it is because Lilly wants to stay with the Cubs and the Sox will agree to not offer arbitration so the cubs can sign him back for next season without losing prospects.

That was a grade A Bobby outing This team is fun to watch. Quentin with a terrible game though.

I think it will be a pitcher. The chemistry in my mind is working and I think Dayan goes down when Teahen comes back until Sept 1st then I think you get a Teahen/Dayan platoon at DH for the rest of the year.

QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 08:23 AM) With Tor. asking for Joba Chamberlain from the yanks and Casey Kelly from Boston for two months of Scott Downs [and soundly rejected], http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/07/aski...cott-downs.html what would the Yanks say to Bobby Jenks for Joba? The Yanks don't have a reliable set up man to get the game to Mariano and may think Jenks could be a key addition. Joba's 5.95 ERA is ugly, and the Yanks don't take kindly to failure. Jenks in set up would be an upgrade for them, and would be worth more than Downs as he's under team control in 2011. It would take salary off the sox hands as well. Trading Jenks for Joba would favor the Yanks the rest of this year. Yet it would probably be a wash for the Sox in 2010, with Putz and Thornton picking up the closer spot and be a big pick up in 2011 and beyond. Even if it's not to the Yanks for Joba, trading bobby now would be a great way to get out from his contract because they likely won't be able to move him in the off season. Teams need bullpen help now and there aren't many options for closing/ set up. Jenks does not have a contract for next year. There is no obligation to him if the Sox do not want him. Joba is Linebrink right now no need for two of them.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 28, 2010 -> 11:00 AM) Moving Liney to the Mets makes sense to me. Even if we don't get anything back. We'd likely call up Carlos Torres, and have him pitch long relief. Then move Pena back to a 7th-inning type role. We can't use Linebrink in the 7th inning now... Not in close games anyway. So, the net result would be an improvement, IMO. Of course, if we could find someone who will offer us additional players for him too that would be great. But I don't see that happening. He would be traded for nothing just to get rid of the salary relief or traded for a good prospect and cash kind of a bizarro KW deal. Linebrink plus $3M for a B level prospect.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 27, 2010 -> 09:47 PM) Brett Myers deserves so much more love on the trade market than he's getting. He looks sensational on the mound this season. I was thinking about this the other day Myers makes a ton of sense as he can be moved to the pen if needed as he has had success there. My feeling is that the Astros are asking for the world.

It is called TBD's why not just the U.S. Cellular Garden until they find a sponsor. Did not go but it looks hadhazzardly put together.
-
Oswalt's NTC allows him to dictate what Houston can do.
-
Maybe Guillen knows a thing or two.

terrible ab there

I want a gapper and a blooper. Crain pitched last night take a couple
-
Can't use the top guys every night. This game shoud be 2-0 Sox....sad the defense let them down

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) Who did you want to bat? Just curious. Lesser of two evils kotsay. His average is .243 and LH Jones is batting .205
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 09:39 PM) Haha, what's the point of having Kotsay on the roster if you're not going to PH him here? Guerrier is a guy he can hit.

Sox really need to focus on the defense at third as the defense will be why they lose. It makes the pitching that much better. Ran into a good pitcher tonight s*** will happen. Need to play better tomorrow.
