GT - 7/2/10 - Sox in Arlington 7:05 CT
Harry Chappas replied to southsidepride15's topic in 2010 Season in Review
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:37 PM) My biggest problem with Hawk now is he's too into his own schtick. He doesn't just announce the game enough, he almost think he has to be "Hawk" at all times. I agree with you but with the current forms of media on tv he does not need to inform the viewers of what they had to as recently as five years ago kotsay guaranteed another 200 AB's with that -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) Soft liner over Andrus' head by 5 inches. I thought it was hit hard. This is where we are screwed though as Omar is not the type of player to extend the rally. The best thing he may do is make a productive out here which is not what is needed. -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 2, 2010 -> 11:11 PM) Only the Sox could make an 11 game winning streak not 100 percent enjoyable. Because I think everyone is expecting them to go 4-9 after that and go into the break about 5 out and at .500 instead of actually playing good the rest of the way. The pitching was not going to keep it up in the AL. NL teams were using the PH as a DH which is what the Sox do nightly. -

It took me three games to sour on this team until a week ago and now it is goingo to take four to get me back to that point again. This offense with the Dh is just as bad as the cubs. Also why isn't AJ playing? -
The Obama thing as big of a joke as it is in the recruiting of Lebron is interesting in that Obama is young and will be out of politics in 6 years max, loves basketball and will be making stops frequently in Chicago and will become a huge Bulls fan with Lebron. Just something to think about if you were Lebron.

Dash benefits from coach's aggressive approach
Harry Chappas replied to scenario's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 1, 2010 -> 06:06 PM) "[sasser] teaches you to go into each at-bat with an approach, whether that means you're sitting on a fastball or looking for a curve or whatever," explained Greene, whose .557 slugging percentage tops the Carolina League. "You stick to it, and you don't shy away from your approach. That's what brings successful results."[/i] That is a Hawk Mantra. A bad plan is better than no plan at all. -

I look at the schdules and think that the Sox schdule is easier than either the Twins or Tigers. They do not have continuous tough games they seem to be more broken up. I also think Tampa and Toronto will give the Twins fits. -
Reds may get him.
-
I am not real sure how the cap in basketball works but could Toronto say we will take Deng but you need to give us Noah. Thus the Bulls then can sign Lee/Boozer and Bosh
-
If Deng goes with Noah in a sign and trade with the Raptors, could the Bulls bring in Wade & Boozer?

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:25 PM) Pretty mediocre effort by Viciedo, as he blocked his vision on the dive. He is not an MLB 3B that is obvious.
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 30, 2010 -> 08:21 PM) It's not often that nearly 80 games into the season, you can have 4 straight hitters with 3 combined homers. Come on you can't count Dayan and the Royals 9,1,2 have a combined 3.
-
Off day tomorrow is good as Peavy already at 69 pitches. Going to have to get at least an inning out of Pena and Santos.
-
Pirates have almost 33% of their wins this season agaisnt he cubs this is Tiger/White Sox material from 2003.

Sox vs Cubs 6-27 game thread 1:05 first pitch

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 04:36 PM) So then you're trading Danks, Buehrle or Floyd? If they're looking to compete and believe moving Prince for a starter would do that then they're going to look for a guy with some kind of success at the ML level. I was just pointing out that the Brewers need pitching if they want to get back in it. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) Brewers are looking to compete this season. They're not going to trade Prince unless they start struggling again. Very similar to Cliff Lee. They need a rotation and with Hart and Weeks going good Prince could be moved for a pitcher. -
