QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:04 PM) Does Buerhle have a no trade clause? I think it is a limited one with 10/5 rights soon. The Sox will have 3 10/5 guys very shortly. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Pena has been a 1 inning pitcher. He's been given a different role. He got through 2 fine, now struggling. This is not his fault if it all goes bad this inning. Exactly which is why he should be pulled. AJ needs to at least throw that ball and he may have gotten an interference call. -

I think the Sox are something like 5-19 the game after they win a game. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:48 PM) He got the run home, which is more than I can say for the usual suspects. If AJ is in the two hole, he finds away to line into a double play on the first pitch. My issue is neither are DP candidates so they both should hit away and hope for a seeing eye single it has working out swimingly well none the less. -

cub is losing 6-2 I only bring this up as the BP Cup series begins Friday and any excitment for it is artificially going to need to be created by the media. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:23 PM) I don't give a damn who the player is. You take on 3-0 EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you are hitting in general I agree the Sox are not and then need to be aggessive. the thing is they will swing at ball four and take strike one. They swing at the first pitch often, why not then swing 3-0 it is the same philsophy either you work a count or you do not. How often do you see them take first pitch strike then swing at a ball on the second pitch. They have terrible pitch recognition as a team. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 6, 2010 -> 02:19 PM) GMAFB. How thrilled were we last night when AJ grounded out softly with 3-0? How many 3-0 groundouts do we need? It wasn't 3-0 I actually think the potential is there. This team just looks unprepared or does not care to give any effort. -

I think that this can go back to how unprepared this team is in spring training. Guys getting shelled becasue they are working on one pitch and hitters not playing on a regular basis. This team has not been ready to go in the last 4 years. They are the baseball version of Camp Lovie...no desire to do anything other than get out there. Remember a couple of years back when Uribe broke up a double play and you would think the Sox won the pennant. The lifelessness of this team is amazing. Guillen is a shell of his former self......oh and when he is gone we get Joey Cora.......rejoice -
The middle of the order next year will be Quentin, Beckham Rios. It is a scary thought but it is what it is. Sadly if Flowers can not hit in the minors they are going to have to try and extend AJ. This team is f***ed if Floyd, Buerhle and Peavy do not get better next year and Danks doesn't figure out how to get through six innings a game. They need to find a 1B, DH and 3B for next year with Teahen moving to the platoon role that Kotsay fills. Whoever thought that Kotsay and Jones could play everyday should be fired.......I think that is Ozzie not KW.

Joe Cowley says our season is over: do you agree?

Yesterday I sat out there. Really sad crowd for Saturday fireworks. 30K. A couple things I realized as it was the third game I had attended on the home stand. This team can not get more than 3 hits in an inning. It is amazing how inept they are getting a two out single. Guillen took Peavy out with 96 pitches yet left Buerhle and Danks in there to give up leads.....the only thing I could think of was he was trying to protect a guy that they are going to have for a while. This team is not getting better any time soon. Mitch Talbot is 3-0 with a 1.50 ERA against the Sox and 4-4 with 5.5 or something against the rest of the leage. This tells me that the White Sox do not change their approach to a pitcher and just go about whatever it is they think they can do. -

Well Masterson did not have to work extremely hard so Mitch shouldn't have much of an issue if the weather holds off. -
