  1. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) That a boy Andruw! Simply hammered that ball Really is sad that with Jones/Konerko/Rios doing this the Sox are in the position they are in as I do not think they will keep it up, actually Rios may....so if/when Quentin and Beckham get going one of these guys will cool off and we will have the same situation with different culprits (i.e. Dye last year after the ASB)
  2. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 8, 2010 -> 08:06 PM) Does Jake still pitch the 8th? Do we wait til the 9th before we go to the pen and get Jenks? Last night and tonight should have been the same formula Thorton Jenks Thing is Thorton is unavailable so it should be Peavy Jenks but I would like to see Santos Jenks.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) No bat speed for Beckham. He's not turning on the inside fastball. Didn't see the first two ab's but that last one was just brutal.
  4. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 8, 2010 -> 08:02 PM) How about a multiple RBI game for Gordo? nope
  5. Alexi Ramirez is just a stupid stupid baseball player
  6. Last night's strategy didn't work in the late innings wonder what guillen has in store tonight.....
  7. Miserable weather, miserable team As was pointed out all offseason Vizquel will get way too many at-bats this year. People can talk all they want about players needing to produce the fact is the manager needs to put the right players in as best position as possible to succeed.
  8. I think LD% and walks go hand in hand. The more selective you are the harder you are going to hit the ball. When you swing at pitches that are out of the zone or pitchers pitches early in the count you are going to make easy outs. This the thing I think the Sox do not care about and hence the numbers are what they are and will continue to be. A 2-0 pitch does not need to be swung at just because it is a strike.
  9. Shane O'Brien is a POS and the Sedins are trying to be physical and it is not working
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:53 PM) So who two months ago would have rather had Neimi in net than Luongo in the playoffs? I think the best thing that could have happened to Neimi was getting to face an offensively weak Nashville team out of the gate to get his feet wet
  11. Kopecky is having a great playoff 3 career playoff goals all this year
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:29 PM) Well, most fans probably just stayed home to watch the Blackhawks. Truth be told, the White Sox have no buzz in Chicago right now. Last May I watched the Sox get drilled and humiliated on back to back home Fridays and realized this team was not any good and never really watched them with any excitement the rest of the year. It took me three games this year to realize there were no changes made to this team
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:19 PM) f*** that, I'm more pissed about the 8th. Buehrle let them tie the game when he had no business still pitching. With Thorton rested it is inexcusable that he did not pitch the 8th or 9th there could be a bigger no brainer
  14. guillen's bullpen management along with the simply stupid rationale that pierre and vizquel should bat 1 and 2 should be reason enough to fire him
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 7, 2010 -> 10:05 PM) The Blackhawks are so good, it's scary; 4-2. Power play thing of beauty. crap I am watching on dvr about 5 mins behind this game like pinball suppose i could spead it up
  16. So Thorton is not used in the 8th or 9th but can pitch the 10th and 11th the fundamental simple things that anyone can see are dismissed by guillen. He continues to cost his team games with his assine lineups and inability to work a pen. For god sake just put your hottest hitters at the top of the lineup. The Sox are on the verge of being under .500 three of the last four years with his way of thinking and a $100M payroll. Hopefully it ends soon. I never really wished a player would get hurt as much as I wish Pierre would tear a hammy.
  17. I really think guillen plays to lose for some odd reason. He is giving this game away it is the 8th inning and Mark throws to contact easy to manage this game you lose with thorton and jenks not the 2-4 starter whose era is 5.5 wow is he just a terrible manager...well his guy did hit a two run homer tonight
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:49 PM) This is the type of move that if it doesn't work out can get a manager fired. guillen knows more than everyone just ask him.......you have a good pen use it here......he is a real bad a manager
  19. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) But people going to the game tonight didn't know this. it is not out of the ordinary common fans are not going to come out until it is guaranteed to be warm unless the team is red hot
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:28 PM) Well, he popped that one up! It's been so much fun watching him hit. He is fun to watch offensively and defensively
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:14 PM) Have the Sox still not swung at a 3-0 pitch all year? Nope
  22. I have Marcum in fantasy baseball my heading is spinning right now.... couple of hard hit balls in a row gotta like that
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2010 -> 08:07 PM) Which is one of the reasons that if we're going to suck, then suck a lot! Nothing worse than seasons like last year where you're close enough to compete, but not really in the race. the sox were ahead of the twins with 3 weeks left in the season
