  1. We are now seeing that when guillen has to put thought into making decisions with the lineup and during the game, he is not capable of doing it. This should be his last year.
  2. Watch it be someone like Dave Bush or something odd and pointless. If it is a cub, I could see Dempster or Lilly as well.
  3. I rewatched last week's episode last night and I have a question about the well that I was hoping someone could answer me.. We are to assume it is the same well that Locke was going down when the flash occurred and he fell, suffered a compound fracture and turned the wheel as instructed by Christian. Wasn't this the same place where the Swan was built and Juliet set off the bomb. If I am correct, the well was replaced by the building of the Swan and thus in the current on island scenario the Swan was never built and Dharma never existed......
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) The team was awful in the 90's and built its fanbase rather than having it shrink. Community overhaul, Sosa, Wood, Grace, Harry Cary I just think that at the prices they are asking attendance will tapper off. Remember this was Year One
  5. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:47 PM) The Red Sox lineup isn't "really good" anymore. With Ramirez gone and Ortiz not what he was, their lineup has regressed considerably. I'd take there's over the White Sox without hesitation though. I posted this over in some thread over at the PHT side but I am not sure that the Red Sox lineup is all that it is cracked up to be. I can see them getting old quick.
  6. I am being serious when I ask where would CJ play. Omar would be the first RH and LH bat off the bench and the first 3B/SS/2B off the bench of the 2.....why I am not sure.
  7. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 01:47 PM) I agree that a GM should not make drastic changes in April. The difference I see is that the Red Sox actually have a good offensive team that is starting slow. The White Sox have a bad offensive team that is starting slow and any drastic change would be good and something that should have been done before the season started. If you compare the teams its not even close. C - Victor >> AJ 1b - Youk >> PK 2b - Pedroia > Beckham. 3b - Beltre > Teahan ss - Scutaro = Ramirez, maybe a slight edge to Al. LF - Elsbury >> Pierre CF - Rios > Cameron RF - Quentin = Drew. Both have health issues. Carlos has more upside. DH - Ortiz > Kotsay. Both are terrible. The only positions were we are better are CF and arguably RF. The Red Sox are significantly better at multiple positions. Thus, it would be dumb for them to panic. The White Sox, however, need to make changes to improve. I don't consider that a panic move. Quentin is >> Drew and you leave Jones of of the equation for some reason. I will also say that I do not think elsbury is >> then Pierre. Jon Lackey was lit up today.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:32 PM) Or stepped on a third basemans back? Or he sticks out an elbow at a 1B trying to reach around him to get a wide throw? or used his face to try and break Barrett's hand.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:27 PM) Why? Haven't they done most of their ticket sale damage by the time the deadline rolls around? Sure but do you think that the follwoing year people are going to pay the prices they are asking. Eventually the novelty will wear off.
  10. Pennents can not be won in April but they can be lost.
  11. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:14 PM) Thats opinion, I don't think the NHL games are any good until the last 2 minutes of the third. I enjoy watching all of the NBA playoff games. Wow I would stay it is the complete opposite.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Aramis Ramirez has an opt-out clause this offseason and could be a firesale candidate. Derek Lee, if his bat stays hot, ditto. Free agents to be are not goignot getyou all that much though. The difference between Konerko and Lee is that Lee is awild card in free agency who can ask for a decent amount of money. Konerko is almost assurred to have to take a pay cut. Also the prices the cub charge make a fire sale tough.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 03:34 AM) Thing is it's not even a lovefest. Nobody was thinking about Pods before the season. But since we're off to a bad start and JP is struggling, the crybabies have made it their daily mission to check Royals box scores hoping Pods did well so they can say, "hahahaha. Pods is the s***. Pierre sucks. Way to go, KW!." And as soon as Pods comes back to earth, and he will, the little girls will find something else. Maybe Juan Uribe goes on a hot streak and the crybabies will start a "Uribe" thread tracking his every at-bat so they can say, "hahahahaha. KW strikes again! We could've had Uribe for nothing. But noooo!!" I like the former better. Sure it hurts. But it's a nice feeling when you feel 5-10 pounds lighter. Aaron Rowand
  14. Holy s*** Boyle own goal 51 seconds in. 50 shots against Colorado and no goals but they score on their on end.
  15. Was at the game tonight and getting ready to watch Col OT SJ oushooting them 50-19,,,Craig Anderson Sopel, Kane, Niemi were great The defense had some bad giveaways. Toews and Hossa need to be better. My tickets were Ticketmaster 3rd level and I gotta tell you the Wrigley stereotype is in full affect as the most vocal folks were those that have no clue about hockey. I guess at $75 for an ok seat is going to get you that.
  16. I am off to the hawk game.....terrible sports weekend other than the cub losing 2 of 3 to the astros....both cub and Sox fans can use a nice hawk ass kicking Later
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) I wish I could have bet money on Dempster shutting out the Astros today. With his slider and all their righties, there was no chance for Houston to do anything. cub should have been swept at home by the astros and should have lost two of three to the brewers all at home. They honestly could be in worse shape then the Sox and is my silver lining. The cubs have no fire sale material the Sox have enough fire material in their pen as well as with Konerko especially if the powere stays in there....cub nothing.
  18. Still shake my head that guillen wanted Kotsay back....
  19. I came in from working outside yes it is only 50 degrees to check Soxtalk. It really is sad that two weeks into the season the White Sox are below laundry and yardwork. I apologize to this board for thinking this team would be good. It has not changed at all. The inability of the hitters to adjust should be why Walker is let gone......maybe it is time for Guillen to go as he really has loast any faith I had with him with his player evaluation. Back to the lawn. Go Sox.
  20. I am finding it really odd that the leftie rightie has so ovewhelmingly taken over guillen's managing yet the results never seem to back this up.....or I suppose I should say imagine how bad the Sox would be if this was not enforced so mightily. Kotsay as your number three hitter.........whatever.
  21. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 11:42 AM) The dog?! The rubber mulch can get pricey can you blame him? On an other note, the stuff can get hot but that is when it is covered by the field turf so that is a large exposed to the sun area.
  22. I get the feeling that when all is said and done the NL will be the tougher league this year. I think Boston is going to slip a little and other than the Yankees and maybe Tampa the AL looks to have a lot of average to slightly above average teams. Sadly the White Sox offensive decision making the off season is going to keep them from pulling away.
  23. Gotta say right now......I just don't really care which is sad because 11 days ago I thought I would be into every game.
  24. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 02:06 AM) http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=7491655 Pods must want Franklin Gutierrez's nickname. MLBN play of the day.
