QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:42 PM) This inning should have been over already. Konerko should of had Hafner's ground ball. Not according to Hawk........and the WP.....and a White Sox pitcher losses the ability to pitch...odd -

Wow was that slow defense out there and Thorton blows the save. -

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:40 PM) Matt needs to throw an occasional slider to throw the hitter off. 50 fastballs in a row can become easy to hit. Was just thinking that...how did Jhonny lay off the change there -

I was in the 5th row behind home plate last night and Thorton is so effortless it is scary the ball simply jumps out of his hand -

The f***ing bunting does not work if your hitters can not drive the guy in which the Sox can not...other than Beckham...... -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:24 PM) Do not run yourself out of this inning, Ozzie. Come on we need another steal and prove we are small ball. Pierre taking some walks early is good to see. -

QUOTE (earthshiner @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 09:17 PM) anybody think ozzie is crazy enough to have santos pinch hit at sometime this season? No that would take managing skill other than to lay down a bunt. -

This has been the offensive MO for the last few years. They can not have good at bats for the life of them. Now the pen can give up a pair and call it a night. This team is not scoring late and bullpens make them look like morons. No matter who is pitching. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 03:44 PM) Well in spring training he looked like a guy that can play cf and that has to count for something. Rios has excelled in RF too so there are some that might say he's better off there anyway. In previous years Guillen would not move the regular to keep them comfortable thus Rios moved all over the OF last year after he arrived. Yet Guillen will go out of his way to get Jones in there in center and move Rios to LF. Remember when Anderson had to play left...... Jones has an injury history that says, play him in left or DH him. Persoanlly he should DH or Rios should. Who knows. -

Rios ran down two balls rather nicely the last two days and is your starter and should remain out there. As was pointed out Jones is gone after this year so let the starter start. Dumb over but then again not out of the ordinary for this team. -
Who will be the last Sox starter to get a hit?

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 12:54 PM) Oooh, in no means was I saying Pena made a bad pitch. Most all of the Tribe hits last night were on good pitches or were bloops. But they were still hits and I remember all last season I'd watch a close game go by the way side as the pen folded (the actual result). I think we have a solid pen and I'm not about to say oh god, here we go again. I'm just saying it quickly made me remember last season and how bad our pen was. In terms of Jenks, I think he'll be fine as a closer, I just think his mentality right now isn't that of a closer. He wants to flash all of his pitches and that is great if he's got a full game to work his pitches and get a feel for all of his stuff, but he's a closer, he's got 1 inning and he should be firing his best stuff all of the time. Not sure why Putz did not come in the game. Jenks gave up a run on a swinging bunt and two walks. He also had two K's. Peavy was brutal last night as there was no flow to the game while he was out there. The hitting though in the end cost them the game. -

Sat through both games. Sunburn Monday, frost bite last night. 8 hits through 2 games....... I think we will see Jones as Kotsay is not adding anything. -
I rewatched it last night and got really confused as to when the two Aljira timelines came together and where Desmond was in relation to these.

What is worse Kotsay batting 5th Grabow setting up

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 02:12 PM) I really hope Ozzie does not become stubborn with this, and don't get me wrong, I realize this is WAY to early for me to be in a panic or anything over this, but I just remember him rolling out Mackoviak (I know that's a poor attempt at spelling Rob's last name!) to CF over and over when it was obvious he had no business playing CF. Again, it's only the 2nd game and I haven't seen personal splits of the players. I think in the Mackowiak case there was not what he felt was a good option. If Kotsay is not getting the job done there are plenty of DH options. The Sox other than Anderson had no other CF options. -

Guillen is going with what he said he would all along. I would like to see Kotsay in right to keep Quentin off the wet grass. -
All I can say was that is how you get show moving along. Desmond's episodes are always the highest rated. That was epic.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 11:38 PM) Today was just heaven. I guess Comcast/Direct TV is giving everybody a free sample of the Extra Innings package for the first week of the season. I've been watching baseball all day. I need more. I don't want to stop. I'm like a feening crackhead. Baseball, baseball, give me more baseball! I want some more f***ing baseball! This has been doing for a few years. I never seem to be able to pull the trigger on getting it. With MLB Network though, there are plenty of options each day without the package. I alos simply shook my head over the MLBN poll ofr Openign Day moments Aaron record setting home run Feller's no hitter Jorge Bell's 3 home run------personally i think Tuffy Rhodes was better Heyward's home run.....
