  1. I think Konerko with a small ball team would be better next year, same with AJ. They seem to be better hitters that can be more productive if they are just trying ot hit the ball especially with runners on. Quentin was this way last year, not so much this year. Thome and Dye are not good for this type of ball.
  2. The fact that Juliet may be dead and Kate is still messing things up makes me less interested......still very interested but a little less.
  3. He will be the next Ellis Burks, there I said it.
  4. Realistically Jenks and Flowers for Crawford, Sonnenstine and Navarro. Long term it hurts the catcher position but you get three years of AJ if you give him an extension and Navarro as a back-up. or you move Jenks for the parts Tampa wants. Crawford doesn't need to play center for the Sox.
  5. I give all of the pitchers on this team a pass....why you ask......every single inning of just about every game is stressful. There is a chance that they will pitch and need to be ready every night. I know they are professionals and this is their job but it is the reasoning I give for their performance. The hitting on this team is beyond bad. There are certain players having nice years but over all they are terrible. When does the light shine on Guillen?????? This team was ahead of the Twins at the end of the day on September 12th. That was a week ago Saturday. I truly believe this team gave up and Guillen did nothing about it. The thing I always gave him credit for was getting the most out of his teams this year I do not think he could get less out of it. Just about everyone gave up on this team after the road trip from hell and in all actuality they were still right in it. Somehow the Twins did not give up. I am not as certain as I used to be that 2010 is going to be all that great. This division is possibly one of the worst in recent memory.
  6. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) The problem is that the first two you mentioned there wont be used at all for the Olympics. Baseball and Softball are out of the Olympics for the near future. I think the actual buildout and renovations proposed now and what actually takes place before 2016 will be vastly different. After there are guarantees on the table I think other private money will become available.
  7. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Sep 18, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) Haha , someone called that in the gamethread yesterday. Major kudos. And your right Sonix.. in fact, it pisses me off that T-Flow still isn't starting. Keep Kotsay in the lineup too. That was me. He has more gumption than Dye and Rios right now. I'd also like to see Kotsay as well as he seems to have good at-bats. I have no problem with this line-up at all.
  8. People need to realize that the Bears add nothing to Solider Field and the Park District. If the Bears left Solider Field, the Park District would make more money on Soldier Field. The Park District could give two s***s about the Bears and Walter Payton and anything they want, neither organization will do anything to benefit the other. I personally think the Olympics could transform many of the Chicago sports venues, including the Cell, Wrigley and Soldier Field. The best stadium in Chicago is Toyota Park.
  9. If both Jenks and Dye are moved/let go this offseason who do you think will be remembered most fondly?
  10. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:38 PM) fuk you johjima, take your base you piece of shat Baseball IQ, something the White Sox have none of. Well Linebrink will get the loss after the Sox were held scoreless for the last 10 innings.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) One has to think we're about to check it in tonight. At some point, there's the "give up" factor. The offense can't score tonight since Bobby f***ed up. Sadly for an organization that wants to tell everyone that they are still in, they do not play like it.
  12. Well Linebrink can pretty much end the season for the Sox....pretty appropriate I guess.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 09:22 PM) Hall is only hitting .212...which means he'll probably walk it off Didn't he homer to tie it in the 9th?
  14. 9 shut out innings from the M's ya Booby sure does suck. There is plenty of ineptitude to go around tonight. The M's scored all of their runs on homers like the Sox did last night.
  15. Wise should have been in the game in 9th in RF and this game would have been over already. I am starting to hate Jermaine Dye which is just sad.
  16. The Sox have scored 12 runs in the last 54 innings in Seattle...that's good.
  17. I think Rios will be fine next year. He will bat 6th or 7th and have no pressure on him. If Quentin is healthy, Ramirez, Beckham, Getz and Nix improve with experience and Konerko and AJ are close to what they ahve done this year, the Sox will be right there next year. I would keep Jenks as his value is low just not guarantee him the closers role.
  18. The bottom of this inning should just about be enough to end the Sox season. They got me interested again....actually the horses*** play of the Tigers did.
  19. Guillen oughta bench Dye and Rios for the rest of the year and play Wise and Kotsay everyday. Why is Getz not trying to steal every time he gets on?
  20. Dye, Rios and Quentin are failing much worse at their job than Jenks is this year. If Jenks does his job they win the game. If Rios or Dye do, they win as well. I agree that jenks is a sheel of himself and I am not sure why...the reason why Thorton is not closing is beyond me. Last 11 in a row retired by the Mariner pen...reminds me of the King Felix game.
  21. He needs location and is not getting it. The value that they could have gotten for him is pretty decreased now so there is no reason to trade him. I just turned the mgame on after the homer. This game resides squarly on the offensive bargae that has been shut out the 4 innings...... I will say it yet again, they have scored more than 4 runs once this entire trip. I blame the bullpen trouble on the fact that every inning of every game is stressful.
  22. There was an injury delay earlier in the game on a ball hit back to Grienke. Maybe they are also trying to limit his innings.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 01:11 PM) I'm not the only non believer, just the one who gets criticized. I do not believe they are going to win but I am not going to sit around and tell people ad nauseum this. I also am going to watch and hope for the best. I really am not sure what your point is? Do you think you need to prove a point or something or prove that you are smarter than anyone? If I was as a defeated as you appear to be I would find something better to do with my time. The Sox win by default and if so they have played well enough against the Yankees, Red Sox and Angels that going in on a roll could make it interesting. You sound like all of those posters that threatened to never post again if Floyd had an ERA under 5.00 last year, they are all still around.
