QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 07:35 PM) What lovefest? Most people are expecting him to be gone after this season. We're not comitted to pay him $60 million either. That's where the concern is. He batted fourth yesterday...that lovefest.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 05:29 PM) Cause the organization could care less about him turning it around for next season, since they know he won't be back? If the money we were allocating for Dye goes to Figgins, then I won't be upset. I kind of hope Podesednik is brought back I never really thought that much of him and now i think he has figured somehting out... He would be a great 4th outfielder with Figgins. I would like the DH spot to be for a guy that needs a couple of days off. I really hope they bring Kotsay back to hit RHP that sucks.....you know, the AA f***ers Guillen was talking about.

Yet the $10M Dye lovefest is allowed to loyally continue. They should make up some injury and say he has had it all year to at least try and get him a decent contract.

9/13 Sox @ LAA - 2:35pm CSN - Buehrle vs. Kazmir

I saw nothing in this team that lead me to beleive they should make the playoffs. Yet when this day started if the Tigers lost and Sox won I would have had interest and belief. The Sox rotation really has a shot of being great next year which is good. Say what you want about the bullpen but the Sox are 2-3 in their last five and have not scored more than 4 runs. This offense is abysmal and down right pathetic yet Rios is the only guy called out. -

Nix can look as bad as anyone. He does not know how to adjust during an AB. -

QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ Sep 13, 2009 -> 03:58 PM) I am so f***ing sick of Jermaine Dye sucking day in and day f***ing out. Get him out of there! at-bats do not get any worse than that..... Again when does Guillen call him out? If he is hurt sit him down he has no value at all to this team. -

Rios should try and bunt for a hit......although then he would have to run it out. -

Would be really nice to see Dye and Rios do something. They are sickening. After reading Guillen's quotes I get the feeling the Alex Rios era is no going to end well. He is doing nothing much more different than Dye. Also Rios did not ask to come to Chicago, Toronto chose to pay him and Chicago took a gamble. Maybe he just sucks. -
QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 01:44 PM) Except that Joe was a .266 hitter in the "clutch." http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...r&t=b#clutc Sorry, a 3-run homer in the 5th is more important than the walkoff single. If the 3-run homer isn't there, there is no setup for the walkoff. Just give me the best damn overall hitters possible. My post should have been in green sorry.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) I wasn't aware of the WGN broadcast. Believe you me I will be there behind the screen tonght You can see better in front of the screen but to each his own. -
Think of it this way.....the players especially the pitchers that got them there can not be to happy with it. I

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Greg, I have a really hard time calling a guy, who by the numbers, was a below average offensive player (compared to every hitter in the leage) at a corner position anything more than a "good" player. How can a player with a career 93 OPS+ (100 is the line for the "average" hitter) be a "good" hitter without question? Because going 1 for 7 but hitting a walk-off makes you a good hitter. Hawk'll take .200 hitters that hit .800 in the 9th inning every day of the week.

After the last game Dotel has to be ahead of Pena....I believe DJ should as well. -
Here is the end to this thread; Swisher was brought in to play leftfield Quentin became an MVP candidate Swisher sucks as a CF There was no room for him and he didn't have a positive vibe...off he went Some liked him some didn't
-
Cooper on the SCORE said he would throw another bullpen session over the weekend and go from there.........he also said they are still in it to win it......we could see him sooner
-
I could have caught it.....

The bright spot for that game was Dotel, Jenks and Ramirez/AJ in extra innings. You may see Dye and Rios both benched in favor of Kotsay and Fields. Fields defense at first saved that game and he got a hit late.

fans booing Dotel throwing over to first....nice Wow bad baserunning there This could be the worst baseball game I have ever seen and I have only been watching since the bottom of the 8th why can't the pen be consistent? Dotel looked good......I guess if I could answer that question I'd be a great GM -
