  1. QUOTE (Dizzy Sox @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Is this Campanis posting? Jimmy the Greek? Yes, we all remember El Duque's fragile mental state with the bases loaded and nobody out in Fenway during the ALDS in '05, or how fragile Jose was that whole season for that matter. An aging pitcher who has lost his stuff and a shortstop who makes dumb errors from time to time does not indict an entire nation. My point was more along the lines that Jose when he was with the Yankees and now as well as Ramirez ability to forget how to play shortstop are odd to me as they have gone through so much mentally to get to the U.S. Then they both simply seem to lose it from time to time wher they appear ot have zero ability to play. I apologize if I offened any and all Cubans.
  2. QUOTE (nastymasty21 @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) resilient? what team u watching hawk. Team is 1-50 in trailing after 8 I believe it is 1-53...How resilient do you need to be to play .500 in one of the worst divisions in recent memory?
  3. The Tigers are hitting a guy (Jared Weaver) that if he faced the Sox enough would have at least one no-hitter. I am starting to lose confidence in the mental ability of Cuban players as they seem to be fragile which is odd based on the the conditions under which they make it to the U.S.
  4. QUOTE (WCSox @ Aug 24, 2009 -> 09:11 PM) Moving JD and Paulie down in the lineup would be fine. Benching them wouldn't. Not only are our other options inferior, but treating veterans who have carried this team on their backs for years that way would reflect poorly on the franchise. Boston is doing it with their captain
  5. I am curious to see if Hendry throws McDonough under the bus with these contracts although the Dempster and Bradley ones are all his doing. All Hendry needs to do is point to the Blackhawks.
  6. Aren't all members of the 40 man roster on September 1st palyoff eligible?
  7. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 03:53 PM) Anyone else believen yet? I want to but have been let done all but one time all year.
  8. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) Everyone doubted me when I called Alexei's 3 run homer a week or so ago......just wait.....Kotsay will pull this out with a walk off homer. Kotsay should be playing a lot more he looks as dangerous as anyone.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Our manager has just mailed it in, along with the players, for the last few weeks. It's like they're all taking the philosophy of "it is what it is". This has been an all year thing.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 03:14 PM) Castro and Lillibridge to start the 7th. Heaven forbid we start subbing players now and try to get a rally going. How does Dye as s***ty as he has been still not hit for one of them. He is not going to pinch hit for anyone else in the lineup until they hit again........which they most likely will not....oh wait that 9th inning rally.
  12. I am gatting to the point where I really what this season to end. This team is hard to believe in. When was the last time they hit well in a game? I mean destroyed a pitcher? In the last 6 games they are a 2 1/2 to 1 favorite 3 times and will after today have lost all three. That to me is a really sad stat.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:56 PM) There's no reason for AJP to be sitting today with Sox facing a great LHP on Tues No reason for Rios, Konerko and Thome to be hitting ahead of Quentin. Also when thinking of the White Sox promising future, and I believe there is one, I do not consider Ramirez to be major component of it. He fits right in with the Thome, Dye, Podsednik, Konerko inconsistent single dimension of the game where they are unable to add a benefit to the team when they are going bad.
  14. I would have to say that Guillen is having as bad a season as anyone. He does not seem to have afeel for the game and I am not saying he should be fired. He should be using his bullpen much more no that they are/were skipping the 5th starter. In 5 or so years we will be talking about the horrible slumps of Paul Konerko and Mark Buerhle as much as we are talking about how good they are. The inconsistency of this team is simply maddening.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:03 PM) Way to get in front of the ball Lillibridge!! I can't believe this pathetic player is getting another chance in the majors. Shame on this organization. I understand having him on the roster but there really is no reason for him and Castro to play. You need this game more so than the one's in Boston and New York. Again though, this offense is putrid.
  16. This has the makings of a repeat from Friday. Easy win on paper then the offense forgets to show up.
  17. I am much more happy that Rowand is gone than Uribe. Uribe never lost games and his glove won plenty. I do not consider failing to drive in runs as costing a team a game. Ramirez does not make either one of those 2005 plays but that is beside the point. Uribe gave everything he had and I appreciate that.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 21, 2009 -> 09:09 AM) Unfortunately, we could be in the same spot in about 10 days with our brutal schedule and terribly unreliable 4th and 5th starter options. Yes but the future of the Sox has them potentially being the best team in baseball next year......the cubs.....just another year older.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Not good enough how? He makes rookie mistakes? Yes, cause he's a rookie at the position. Look at his upside, good range, great arm, great height and reach. He will be a plus SS before the end of next season, there is no doubt in my mind. Charging a ground ball and turning a DP are things he should have been able to do in Cuba which he is unable to do.
  20. Inge always kills the Sox even when they are not facing him.
  21. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 03:21 PM) Looks like Aaardsma going to have Thames, Raburn, and M-Cab in the bottom 9. Guillen or Granderson will PH for Thames. Also 9 up, 9 down for the M's after the delay against Seay and Miner
  22. If the M's lose it will be their bullpen blowing it again. Being shut by them for 13 innings is a real kick in the nuts.
  23. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 01:52 PM) What channel is it on? MLB Network
  24. Call it. You do not want to endanger anyone out there.
