Big Russ 6-2 M's are they playing at Wrigley with a howling wind???? Regardless of the outcome the Washburn move is not looking really good right now over 90 pithces and not even through 6.
-
Sweeney yard 5-2 M's

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 20, 2009 -> 10:22 AM) A position he's never played before? If anything he should be moved back to 2B. Nix and getz are fine there who plays third? Beckham never played third until this past May and he has adjusted well. Send Ramirez to winter ball and spring training and I think he will be fine. He looks like he has never played short before.

Why Chris Getz Injury Is Good for the Sox
Harry Chappas replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Neither guy can stay healthy and both on the team are fine. Whom is better will wash itself out. Nix striking out less and Getz walking more will do everybody a-lot of good. Both are rookies and have their flaws but both have promising upside which is nice to have. -
Ramirez needs to move to third and Beckham short. Ramirez has too much time to think at SS and Beckham could not be any worse. I am waiting for a slow roller to stop and Ramirez to sit and watch it while the runner rounds the bases. He refuses to charge a ball now. The play yesterday was abysmal.

If Ryne Sandberg is named manager here is the rhetoric you will hear from the minion nation; ? "Rhino.....awesome. Rhino knows Wrigley and what it takes to win here. We would have won with Rhino in 69 and he carried us in 84, 89, 92, 96 and 03. If we had Rhino as player manager the last two years we would have won it all. Pinella couldn't handle the winning tradition that is expected here, he was a loser look at what he did in Tampa. Rhino, he is a hall of famer and a winner. He will go to Santo for advice in the playoffs and what it takes to be a winner. Santo has the rings to prove it. He can bring back Bowa to coach third, Bobby Dernier can work with the outfielders, Sarge can replace Joshua as the hitting coach and have Sutcliffe work with the pitchers. Jody can turn Soto back into the MVP winner like he was last year. RHINOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! f*** ya." Rick Sutcliffe during the game on ESPn was talking about how Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones are great because they play every day of the season from spring to the end of the year because they feel they owe it to the fans .....Jeter yes but hasn't Chipper missed huge chuck of time in more than a few seasons?????? ESPN flat out sucks.

Lot of talk on the radio that as soon as the cubs are eliminated Pinella will step down. They feel he has given up on this team.

QUOTE (docsox24 @ Aug 19, 2009 -> 12:25 PM) Jose has had 6 starts since the break, all of them either bad or downright awful. We either need to beat up on Cy Young 1 or Seattle has to be up on Cy Young 2 for us not to be 4 games out. With Jose and Freddy facing Boston at Fenway we aren't going to gain any ground there either. The lack of a viable 4th and 5th starter the last month is what will cost us the division. Why can't Jake Peavy throw 70 pitches for the Sox next week? It is a rhetorical question by the way.
-
Friday the Sox will be 4.5 games back and have a winnable series against Baltimore while Detroit goes to Oakland. They need to pick up a game or two there. Afternoon home games do not bode well for the Sox. Final Score..............13-2 Royals Hope I am wrong. I know there is an off day tomorrow but Jose is going to be left out there for at least 100 pitches which he may get to in the fourth. Jose is no fun to watch. Let's hope he makes it until 1:30 unlike the other few weekday afternoon game pitches sans the perfecto. The bright spot......Robinson Tejada is most likely not available and let's hope for some minor swelling in Soria's ankle.....f*** it Grienke will throw less than 110 pitches for the CG anyway.

I will agree with the Pods, Ramirez and Beckham talk in this thread but the reason the Sox are not winning more is because the abyss that is Dye, Konerko and Thome show up once a week and I am saying only one of them once a week or hit the random homerun. It has become an annual rite of passage they stop playing for months at a time.

QUOTE (BaseballNick @ Aug 19, 2009 -> 08:09 AM) Cesar and I were the left side of the infield for two years at Mt. Carmel It was great to see him get his first win in the bigs. Congratulations Ceaz! Didn't the Sox pass up on him and Garza for Broadway or was Cesar picked with Kyle.

Nice inning for Pena Here comes a nice easy 1-2-3 inning with a couple of head drops and an AJ f*** should just about do the trick. -

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) I suppose that's possible, given that he was handed the shortstop job for this year about half way through last year. And told he would be great at it..... Maybe he needs to fight for a job to be good. He and Contreras seem to just kind of flake out and lose any ability to play rather easily. -

QUOTE (bobryansson @ Aug 18, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) If one of my kids had been doing well, pretty intelligent and busting his butt and looking sharp one year, then the next year seemed unmotivated and made numerous mental mistakes, I'd have to wonder what other issues were having an influence in his life.
