QUOTE (GordoTheGreat @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:39 PM) We better touch the French boy up for some runs, he's hardly overpowering. Left handed and not overpowering completely befuddle Dye, Thome and Konerko -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:31 PM) Jeez...walking the #9 hitter before Ichiro. Way too many walks from our starters lately. I would like to see the OBP of 7-9 hitters compared to 3-5 hitters against White Sox pitching. -

QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) Don't care. I know this team can come through in the end when all is said and done. I have faith in them because of what happened last year. Granted they don't make it easy on themselves, but in both 2005 and 2008 it looked like all hope was lost, and they came through. Ozzie knows how to get through to his guys, and if anything they're pressing because they know they're in a pennant race. I'm quite aware we can't hit for s*** in the later innings, that wasn't my point. My point is is that you can't get worked up day in and day out. It's a pennant race, enjoy it. Just be glad you're not a Royals/Indians/Mets fan at this point. It's amusing to me how everyone overreacts after we lose 1 to 2 games. We just came off a homestand where we took 3 of 4 from the Yankees, 2 of 3 from the Angels, and 1 of 3 of the Indians. If you were to tell me that after that homestand we would go on the road with a 6-4 record, I'd take it in a heartbeat. I am not trying to be overly negative with this but they are 57-55 and people are talking about how guys may be miffed that they are making moves. Buerhle when they got Peavy and now Dye when they get Rios. It seems like this team really thinks they are better than what they are and Guillen seems overly complacent as well. Sometimes I feel that winning is not as important as it should be especially recently with some really bad fundamental mistakes. -

QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) That does appear to be the trend this season, but anything can happen. Even if we lose tonight, it's not the end of the world. Although I'd prefer to get the first two with King Felix on the mound Wednesday. I am sadly hoping for a 3-3 road trip..... -

QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:12 PM) I've learned too many times in the past few seasons to never count this team out. Not with Ozzie at the helm. It's amazing how everyone is so quick to wave the white flag here. After what happened last season, I will not give up on this team until we are mathematically eliminated. For the season I agree but you can pretty much write-off the Sox if they are down by 3 or more runs after 5 innings. They show no ability to come back late in a game. -

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) 2 runs could do it. A 3 hitter from French and the Sox fail to pick up game. The team is lifeless...someone give them so no doze. French has 54 pitches and 3 K's through 4, it really is sad how easy this team can be shut down. Also Griffey is hitting .219 and comes through. -

Sad thing is Jose looked like this yesterday and instead of the offense doing something they went to sleep. Somehow I think Gavin has the one bad inning and the game is over like in California earlier this year. I think KW is thinking enough with the corpseball -

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) The Sox...turning Luke French into Ron Guidry...sweet. Sox have lost to Erv Santana Jeremy Sowers ??? Huff and now Luke Fench is schooling them.......... Yep they look like they are ready to make a run for the division. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:54 PM) Tired bats so far it would seem. No one has hit the ball well tonight for the Sox. Been the theme of this team on the road for a while. and to think KW may piss off the big powerful middle of the order. One thing for sure, consistent playing time does this team no good as far as getting in a rhythm as hittingwise they have not had this since 2006. -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) I love Jayson's eye. He has great AB's, hopefully more hits will come from them. I think next year he will be an asset as he can be guaranteed a utility role unlike this year when he was really close to being out of baseball. I think a comfort level will settle in and we will see the defense that he can bring. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) Where would Pods play if they bring him back? Rios acquisition today should signal Pods going elsewhere next season. 4th OF and good bat off the bench. I think the Sox get all three guys back at below market value. Really all they need to do is fill the 5th starter role and that is it for next year. -

QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) Here comes another 'unkown pitcher from somewhere' to handcuff the Sox. I'd almost rather face freaking Roy Halladay than some of these no name guys (yes I know French is a good prospect). Yep, like clockwork. No good thing seems sustainable with this team. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:21 PM) Who isn't speculating about whether or not Dye is pissed? I really think Dye, Pods, and Thome are all back next year as Quentin needs to prove he can stay healthy. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 10, 2009 -> 09:13 PM) He really needs to just stay on the base and let the hitters move him over. 17-26 stealing, and that's not counting a few pick offs. I think the baseball IQ of this team is as low as ever. -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 03:05 PM) Really...yeah, let him go Toronto and you solve all of your non Vernon Wells related problems. Let him walk and eat some of Wells salary in another trade and your good to go. I think it is Boston. JP is not real bright though so he will f*** it up. -
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 7, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) The Twins acquired veteran right-hander Carl Pavano on Friday from the Indians in exchange for a player to be named later. Pavano, 33, in the midst of a somewhat revitalizing season following four disappointing years with the Yankees, adds some veteran presence to the rotation of a Minnesota team that will open a weekend series against Detroit with a 53-55 record, in third place in the AL Central, trailing the division-leading Tigers by 4 1/2 games. To accomodate Pavano on the 25-man Major League roster, the Twins optioned right-hander R.A. Dickey to Triple-A Rochester. Pavano went 9-8 in Cleveland -- matching his victory total for 2005-08 in New York -- with a 5.37 ERA in 17 starts and 100 innings. He is expected to join the team tonight in Detroit. Pavano last pitched on Sunday, making him available for manager Ron Gardenhire to immediately inject him into the rotation. He is 3-0 with a 1.93 ERA against the Tigers this season. Tom Singer is a reporter for MLB.com. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs. How did this thing happen is what I want to know about it? What team worse than Minnesota in the AL would want him?

Does Kenny have his eye on Wagner?

He won't make it past NL waivers same as Pavano did not make it past Minnesota.
