  1. Couple of runs would be nifty. Sox have three good AL number 5's all of which are better than most NL #3's.
  2. Nice 6 pitch inning for Porcello. White Sox hitters seem to be done for the night. Clayton better not let up....as the pen is going to have do their job again.
  3. How many pitches did Richard throw his last time out...I am think over 110. He needs to be more economical. I guess that may come with experience.
  4. as long as he does not alter his stroke to lift the ball at the Cell he will be all set for next 15 years...if Quentin could stay healthy they could be the right handed version of Moreanu/Mauer.
  5. While out of town the last four days all I had to say to the people I was with was that the pen is down but the hitting needs to be better. This team needs to score to win. 4 runs are better than the Toronto Texas days but they need to but a hurt on a team and keep it up for all 9 innings.
  6. Sox have not scored more than 4 runs in their last nine games.
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:56 AM) I cannot for the life of me fathom why some fools still think Tyrus is the man/going to be the man. They are the same poeple that would never dream of trading Deng.
  8. QUOTE (The Critic @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 11:40 AM) They really ARE becoming the IceCubs!! I have been saying this since the red carpet.
  9. QUOTE (GO CHI SOX! @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 11:49 PM) Well I dont have an answer for getting into a jam last night, but he did pitch 28 pitches last night and another 20 tonight. He just ran out of gas. I wanna give him a day or 2 off and see what happens then. Right now im not panicking but I am worried slightly. BINGO, he faced 6 or 7 hitters I am guessing 35 pitches on Saturday and another 28 Monday, after last night that is between 75-80 pitches in three days. last night should have been Dotel/Thorton in the 9th. Dotel has to be traded as they are not using him any longer for some reason.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) I love Beckham batting behind Getz though. Do you think AJP or CQ would have a chance in hell on scoring on a Beckham double? Also, this gives Ozzie's some options with a hit-and-run, etc. I wished I typed faster.
  11. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 21, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Switch Getz and Beckham and that is our best lineup ALL season. Getz and Beckham can be a hit and run machine!!!
  12. Phils left handed power could eat Harden up.
  13. Some things we know for sure. The defense will be shaky The Sox will not score after the sixth The bullpen will put two men on every inning they are allowed to pitch The Rays are turning into a Boston/NY in that they are taking a ton of pitches and making the pitcher work. If Richard isn't throwing first pitcx strike he is going to get destroyed. Go Sox.
  14. Coming from a big Brian Anderson fan, I have no problem with this move.
  15. The Sox will swing within two pirtches the entire game and the infield defense will be unable to catch a ball that is not hit directly at them. The Sox will not score after the 6th inning. The Rays will steal every single time a man gets on. Let's hope all of this will allow the Sox to garner up a win.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 16, 2009 -> 01:47 PM) Your probably right, but if the Rays were serious that would be a potentially smart move to make them the world series favorites for these next two years. Losing Price would hurt though. If the Rays trade Price for Halladay their GM really f'd up by trading Jackson. I still am not sure why they made that trade.
  17. What do Alphonso Soriano and Brian Campbell have in common?
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2009 -> 05:03 PM) I understand we are kind of stuck with him there for the rest of this year, but unless some sort of drastic change occurs, I don't think we can keep Gordon Beckham at 3rd base after 2009. His bat isn't as valuable over there, and his fielding looks awful. I understand he's never played there before this year and is trying to learn at the major league level, but he has very poor reaction times on hard hit balls to him, and I'm not sure if that is something you can teach. They really need to make a decision on this sooner rather than later. I believe it is a matter of time before he starts to take this into the field. The play in the 9th inning Saturday was really bad. I like his bat but I think he needs to go to second. There is a log jam of infielders (Beckham, Ramirez, Nix, Getz and Fields) that should create trade market interest. The Sox need to decide which way to go as none of them are experienced enough to come off the bench on a regular basis.
  19. Are you related to the guy theat discovered the bay which opened the trade route to the great lakes and thus began the process by which the city of Chicago became the metropolis it currently is?
  20. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jul 10, 2009 -> 11:28 AM) Carlos Gomez has a .250 OPS against us this year so hopefully that was just a one year thing. You can throw out every stat there is when the Sox are playing a team. Gomez and Punto will do more damage than Moreanau and Mauer in this series. I am not drunk or joking I seriously believe this.
  21. I thought Boozer was like 32 years old. He is 27. Wow did Cleveland screw up.
  22. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 10:28 PM) Twins swept by the Yanks. Sun still rises in the East. ho hum. Don't worry Carlos Gomez will have a huge weekend.
  23. The other thing in my mind is that if this team is going to stay in the race, can Beckham be at third and Ramirez at short. If Jake Fox is a bad 3B, what is Gordon Beckham. I think Ramirez needs to go to center, Beckham short and Fields or Nix at third.
  24. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 9, 2009 -> 04:47 PM) This team has got to figure out how to come back when they are down a few runs to win some games. Good teams can come back, we have only 2 times this year were we have won when down after the 6th. Thats a pretty telling mark that needs to be reversed in the 2nd half. I think it goes back to advanced scouting and knowing what a guy throws.
  25. Ramirez and Beckham almost with as bad of games as DJ and Richard as the four of them did nothing positive.
