  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) I'm ready for the DFAnderson. He has options and will be needed in September.
  2. Wow is Anderson bad right now. He needs to go to AAA as somebody may actually pick up Wise and I do not think Quentin is going to last the season if he comes back. Pods on the radio said he is a much better CF'er than LF as he can judge the ball better.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) Who's pitching the 9th? Linebrink I bet Guillen goes with Pena. I'd like Dotel myself as he seems like he will not give up 4 maybe one or two.
  4. Thorton is a beast. See...................against Minny Spahn hits a flair double to score Kubel aftyer Kubel gets a double bouncing it off the plate and Gomez gets his third bunt single which Richard throws away and Gomez scores........that is what goes through my head during a twin game in the roller dome.
  5. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 09:14 PM) do you ever get this weird feeling in your stomach when the sox are leading by one or two going into the 8th inning at the metrodome? I watch every Twin game like cub Sox game that at any time the Sox are going to get no hit or give up a 20 spot and no game is ever safe.
  6. I caved to my kids and am stuck watching Fairly Odd Parents and the game via Soxtalk and Gamecast. Took my second basement tv outside with the dvr a few weeks back........great call if I was a seal. Not that any of you care. f***ing Chicago weather....
  7. I came to log in and missed the DP. My reasoning for logging in was to point out that I thought the ball Garko hit shouold have been a DP. Nix should play every day. The only ball the Indians got in the air left the park. Jose was unhittable through six after settling down. Thorton should get the 8th with all of the lefties. The fate of this gamer rests with the offense which seems to have shut it down.
  8. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) So, they will rebuild Wrigley? You gotta go with the opposite of what Bruce says. Also, lets say the Cubs do rebuild wrigley in the same spot and have to play a year in the cell... wouldn't we make a good profit off of that? Wouldn't the revenue drawn into the stadium when the Cubs play come to JR and the sox? Or at least a portion of it? Or at the very least, you'd think we'd make the cubs at least pay to play there. Sox get nothing they have a nice lease with the ISA but do not own the park they pay rent based on hitting an attendence figure. I do think JR owns the parking lots though.
  9. cubs will pick him up and move Marshall to the rotation
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) We got a #2 starter for Reed. For Allen, we got a guy who looks to be the 6th or 7th best thing in our bullpen. There were others involved in the Reed trade including a young Olivo and I forget the third.
  11. While Halladay is a horse. There is no Peavy talk now as he is hurt. If Halladay falls over the fence and busts a toe there is no Halladay talk until this offseason. I think JP if he is going to move, moves quickly.
  12. Maybe Carraso is going to get a shot at the number 5 spot with Richard replacing Gobble?
  13. QUOTE (brendol @ Jul 8, 2009 -> 03:04 AM) Most people besides white sox fans dont like hawk at all. Vin Scully alone tops what we have. That is like comparing Babe Ruth to Paul Konerko. The only people that need to like Hawk are Sox fans as the only people the need to like to muppet voiced cub announcer are cub fans. Ron Santo is part of a mystic as are Hawk and Farmer Brenly and Stone do their job. Sure Hawk is over the top but so are most fans that spend time on message boards talking about their team. I gave f*** ya yesterday on the homer as I did for the Pods winning hit. That hit last night broke the Indians and as any fan of the Sox knows the psyche of the offense is weak. It Sowers gets through 7 the Sox could have lost 3 in a row easily and have been in a funk tothe break.
  14. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) Pie is a bit more toolsy then BA, but yeah, your point is sound. I disagree.
  15. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) What did you expect? He was in a rhythm as a starter in Birmingham and is now getting super spotty innings as a reliever. I'm not saying he's going to be Randy Johnson, not even close, but give the guy a break. I thought a Thortonesque fastball. He is doing fine and I wish he got more work that is all. Sara Kustok is hot.
  16. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) Must we b**** about Poreda not having the stuff to succeed at the big league level, when he's clearly succeeding at the big league level? I wouldn't call it b****ing more that he is not the lights out pitcher I thought he was and constructive criticism. That was a real nice sequence there. Nix is a great defensive player.
  17. Jamey Carroll looks like a post puberty Brent Lillibridge. Beckham needs to make that play.
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:47 PM) For now, he's a 91-92 mph pitcher. He's having success, so no reason to change things. He does not have control to live at 91 -92 as his offspeed stuff is not consistent either.
  19. Sox hitters seem to have packed it in against the overpowering Tomo Ohka. Make the 9th easy please.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) Beckham? I posted in the Halladay thread that I would. Would you trade Beckham for Ricky Romero? Anderson's days have really got to be numbered as his AB's are down right terrible..
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:43 PM) I say this every time we see him: I have no problem trading Poreda in a big deal. I have no trouble trading anyone any longer.
  22. If he throws 96 he really should be throwing it here what is with all ofthe breaking stuff
  23. 10-3 and walking guys...why can't anything be easy with this team.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:24 PM) Who would have thought that job security is what PK needed to get going? Let's get him one more at bat. What happened to the hand injury? Almost as good a game as Lee's last Thursday.
  25. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) Swagger, let me introduce you to the Indians bullpen What I find funny is the cubnation thought the season was turning because of the Linebrink disaster and beating the Indians bullpen. The Indians real should have swept those douchechills.
