White Sox Acquire RP Tony Pena from ARI for Brandon Allen
Harry Chappas replied to chetkincaid's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The odd thing is right now he is the 5th option from the right side behind Jenks, Linebrink, Dotel and Carrasco. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) s***. Konerko's numbers are just as good, if not better than Lee. Plus he hasn't been in hiding since 2005. Aren't all of Konerko's numbers better? I was being semi-scarcastic. -

Getz may be the utility guy as Nix should get more playing time. They need his defense more than anything and he is starting to hit. -

This is a big AB as it seems like Thome has done nothing since the NL swing. -

QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) i guess hopefully cleveland will go to the pen here soon so we can rough them up some more Sox do not win when trailing after 6. They do not hit bullpen pitching. Tell KW to play better at home and fans may come out. I am 3-13 on the year and they have been outscored 104-52. -

It is amazing how bad this team hits at home. -
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 7, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) There is no way you deal Beckham. Sorry. That is where the conversation will end as that is the Jays biggest need. The Jays are trading Halladay for a sure thing to fit in with their young talent. Beckham is the closest thing the Sox have to that. His contract is not that the Sox can get him for the suspect prospects that they were for Peavy. Sorry but Flowers, Poreda and Richard are not getting you the best pitcher in baseball.
-
I trade Beckham for Halladay. I also include Fields for Rolen and cash.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:35 PM) This will be a tough loss to swallow. We needed this game in case Richard, the weak link of the rotation, pitched poorly tomorrow. Sadly giving out the outs on the bases early in the game is what has cost this team dearly today. -

Ramirez has no business playing short any longer. The defense is killing this team right now. -

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 11:57 AM) Why bench Thome when he was finally starting to hit the ball. I could understand if a lefty was on the mound, but this game has a bad start already, and Hochevar has been pitching well lately. That move seems to have hurt already. -
I have been overly negative but he had a nice series and should be playing ahead of Anderson at this point....I can't believe I typed that.
-
I thought we'd see Wise today after the nice game yesterday. I also thought Fields would be a good guy for Wells as the fastball is meh.
-
Or Kuroda and his ERA of 6.....oh wait sorry wrong premise.

QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 11:24 AM) I thought it was modeled after Yankee Stadium? Since JR was from New York.... I thought it was Royal Stadium..... I also thought the Cubano thing was for international play and that he was a SS for the Cuban league. He was brought in to play CF by the Sox not short with the idea of extending OC. I think he is back in CF soon.

LSU (Jared Mitchell) playing now on ESPN.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 07:07 AM) Most outstanding player of the College World Series, nuff said. But he looks to take too many walks which with his speed is bulls***. He needs to over swing as the ball flies out of the cell for the 25 hot games in which they play there. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 26, 2009 -> 02:48 AM) According to some internet news outlets and the Cleveland Plain Dealer: Michael Jackson may have left the rights to the 200 Beatles songs that he owned; to Paul McCartney, in his will. That would be a classy move and nice F U to Yoko.

The attendance while bad was a perfect storm. A lot of casual fans that look at the Dodger series as intriguing also had nice road options as Milwaukee, Cincinnati and Chicago in the last couple of weeks as well as the cub series. Real bad decision to charge what they did. Ozeroo is right on with his Carrasco comments. He could be the most valuable guy out there right now in the trade market.

Today was yet another game where a weak bench was the downfall of this team.
