  1. Lyon, Sardines and Rayburn have been the difference in this series.
  2. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 05:39 PM) If only Danks can get going now... He looked really good yesterday. Dye and AJ are painful to watch right now.
  3. QUOTE (rudylaw @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:13 PM) BA has swung the bat a little better the past few games. It would be nice to see him getting on base a little more. Inge robbed him a couple of times and the ball he hit last night was crushed.
  4. Keep giving those outs away against good pitchers. Nice job Oz.
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) Beckham just missed that. WOW. Not to sound like Hawk but Beckham seems to have an idea at the plate and hits the ball hard.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 04:07 PM) I hate my little brother. We get Chex Mix because we like everything that's in it. He opens it, eats the pretzels, and leaves it. If I wanted to eat just Chex, I'd get a box and let it sit out. beat the little f***ers ass....I like the Chex but not the pretzels....give them to Mikie he'll eat anything.
  7. Thome and Konerko need to hit ahead of Dye. Thome needs to play first if Konerko is out in the NL parks. Alright Gavin, there is your run.
  8. Floyd and Danks have looked great recently. It really is sad the offense is so bad.
  9. Sox should get Reed Johnson he just fouled out to first with a runner on third, he'd fit right in. How'd Keppinger end up with Houston?
  10. Wow is this line-up bad. Jackson's ERA is sick.....going to be a long day.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:57 PM) Good stuff by Gavin. If we lose today, do you all think we're out of it with no hope of making playoffs? If Quentin is done for more than a couple of weeks, yes.
  12. Leyland with the Sunday line-up. Rayburn is hitting .224 yet he has had the biggest Ab's in the series.
  13. I find it amazing that the Astros can not hit cub pitching.
  14. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:37 PM) I wasn't trying to be down on Danks, it just seemed to be a lofty comparison. After reading the last couple of posts I decided to look at the Minor League numbers of a Grady Sizemore and compare it to Jordan Danks and to my surprise they are fairly similiar. Granted it is a small sample size for Danks thus far, but I would have to change my view of his ceiling. I also know that Minor League numbers aren't set in stone that is what you will do in the Big Leagues but I have say the Sizemore comparisons is more accurate than I thought. Did Omar Minaya trade Sizemore, Lee and Phillips for Colon. Talk about a bad trade. He did get Rocky Biddle andthat tall guy in return a year later....
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) They will take a bus or maybe even a train. I wouldn't be surprised if most guys just drive themselves as Monday is an off day and they will be in Chicago next week. Maybe D'Wayne Wise and Josh Fields will get lost along the way.
  16. QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:20 PM) Milwaukee is not that far. That's what makes it funny. Starting at 4:00 and taking the bus......oh forget it.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) It might also be Lillibridge as he could bunt and do some little things. That said, Konerko ain't going to the DL right now. I posted in the game thread that if they think they are still in it, Thome has to play first in the national league parks if Konerko can not go. That lineup would be embarassing if Thome, Konerko and Quentin are all out in the NL parks.
  18. Hawk's going to start b****ing about what time the flight will arrive if this thing drags on any longer.
  19. Sox oughta call it. Isn't it their decision and 3 games in 5 days would be nice for their health
  20. QUOTE (alexgtp @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 03:52 PM) I will be there friday night. Staying at the Ramada Inn City center. Hitting up Miller tour in the AM Friday. Than lunch at Sobelmans. Than Hitup some of the bars on riverwalk. Head to game, Repeat bar festivities after a White Sox Win. Staying there Friday as well and tailgating before the Friday game. I would offer you a ride to the game but the car is full and I find Soxtalk Folk creppy
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:21 PM) why does Berkman suck against the Cubs now? Dempster is horrible. Always has. He was batting .410 last year in late May and went 1-20. Puljols is similar in that he seems to strike out an inordinate amount of times against the cubs. Although he has hit him a time or two as well.
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:19 PM) He didnt kill himself until 89, but yeah, thats the one. Don Baylor and Dave Henderson did the damage IIRC. Ya I didn't mean that he did it on the field but I thought that it was directly related to his suicide and not that he was chasing down Kung Fu gangs in Thailand.
  23. Cubs and Houston were in a rain delay according to CBS Sportsline.....now that is odd.
  24. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:16 PM) We have no business bunting with anyone other then D-Wheezey. And that's only because he can hardly hit the ball. Pods and Alexei are fine if we're aiming for a base hit, but why even bother moving the runner over? We can't get him and we're just wasting an out. Cabrearr can not move and nobody has challanged him with a bunt all series. Ramirez baseball I.Q. could be negative.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:04 PM) rain delay entertainment: MLB network 1986 Angels vs Red Sox ALCS Isn't that they game that killed Donnie Moore?
