  1. QUOTE (qwerty @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) .292 .292 .458 .750 Can you get that with runners on?
  2. Anderson has thrown 34 pitchesthe last three innings after throwing 51 the first three. Whatever the strategy was to start the games in this series it has gone out the window after the third inning as this was what has happened in all three games.
  3. The sad thing is when people b**** in late August when the Tigers are destroying Oakland and the Sox are getting pounded by the Red Sox.
  4. QUOTE (almagest @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:23 PM) Sacrifice bunts are also three run homers. Got ya. It lead to a three run homer after the walk. They put pressure on the pitcher especially in a 1-0 game as oppossed to stepping up and swinging at the first pitch (i.e. AJ) and popping out or grounding into a DP. This team has scored 4 runs in 27 innings against these pitchers and have yet to have a rally. Anyone have AJ's numbers when he swings first pitch?
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:18 PM) Bunting with a man on 1st in the 5th inning with your top prospect who you called up b/c of how is currently hitting is moronic. And don't act like Oakland just manufactured that run with the bunt cuz they didnt. So Beckham is going to step in save the team with his offensive prowess got ya. The bunt there did not manufacture a run it manufactured three.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxmanager @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) woops... The seat of Ozzie's pants told him the Giambi was a better bet Holliday there. I wish the Sox money hitters could be a little more consistent.
  7. Ball game is over ya bunts really are a waste..... Even if they get a run against their starter the oakland pen will shut them down
  8. QUOTE (Felix @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 02:09 PM) Probably has to do with bunts being a stupid, stupid play this early in the game and Beckham being a non-worthless player at the plate. Just a guess though. Then they should not do them. If they are going to do them, then do them consistently if they are not, then don't. They attempted to bunted in the first inning Tuesday. Seeing as they have not scored and Beckham has one total at-bat maybe it would be a positive thing for him to build on instead of being 0-2 and falling right in line with the offensive failing of this team today.
  9. Why not bunt there? This team makes no sense with the situational things they do. Balk
  10. The averages added together for the three hitters in this inning .381. That is pretty good.
  11. Off the top of my head, the Sox have 4 runs in about 25 innings this series against their starters, really sad.
  12. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:40 PM) If we actually hit what people here expect with RISP, we'd be the greatest team in the history of baseball. your point is?
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:38 PM) The lack of situational hitting is making me lose what little hair I have left. Chilly out there today.
  14. Wise HBP will keep him here until the Bud Billikin Day Parade, the start of the pennant drive according to Jerry Manuel
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:17 PM) "It's not the flu that's going around but a virus for the Sox." Does Ed Farmer know what the flu virus is? Carlos Beltran has the Swine flu but the Mets will not admit it.
  16. Oakland had 6 guys in the lineup yesterday hitting under .230. How they have scored in this sereis is sad. Need to beat the s*** out of them today. Sox should really have been .5 out after today. Christ...... There was my rant Now get it done. Pods is doing what they need him to
  17. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 01:44 AM) Yes... I'm sure it wasn't tough to find out, just 1 google search would give you your answer. Oh, you're from Palos Heights, so you should know all about the awesomeness of the Marist Football Program. Join a real conference.
  18. I could see he and the Ozzeroo throwing hands the dugout and driving home together.
  19. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 12:15 PM) agreed. Same thing was repeated about MacDougal too, and he never regained any semblance of the control and effectiveness that he had when the Sox gave him that contract. Sometimes guys just never are able to keep it together He has only been pitching for a few of years so you never really have a track record or history to look that far back on.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 09:57 AM) As soon as he gets his control issues down he’ll be back on track. How many times has this been an issue for him? When he is the only reliable guy he needs to be automatic.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 3, 2009 -> 09:58 AM) Lineup prediction Pods 7 Ramirez 6 Dye 9 Konerko DH Anderson 8 Castro 2 Fields 5 Betemit 3 Nix 4 Konerko 3 ---- Betemit DH
  22. I still think Beckham and Poreda are part of a deal for Halladay.
